Ahh, we love Gillian Anderson. Ever since The X-Files, she's stolen our hearts. So when I found out that Gillian had sent a letter on behalf of PETA Europe to every single Member of the European Parliament (MEP) in aid of the 12 million animals suffering in European laboratories, I couldn't help but smile a lot.

Right now, MEPs are considering a proposed law that could improve conditions for tens of millions of animals who are experimented on and killed in laboratories across Europe each year. In a vote that will take place next week, the politicians can change this proposal for better or for worse, so Gillian's help has come at just the right time.

Of course, this isn't the first time that Gillian has spoken out in behalf of animals. The award-winning actor has taken action for animals time and time again. Recently, she narrated a video of undercover footage taken inside rabbit fur farms—it was part of PETA's campaign to pressure Giorgio Armani to stick to his fur-free pledge.

Go, Gillian! Check out her letter. And please speak up for animals by pledging to be cruelty-free.

So as you know, Giorgio Armani has been on PETA's bad list lately. Promising to go fur-free and then reneging on the idea altogether in order to make rabbit-fur outfits for babies really just isn't something we appreciate (I think the animals would agree …).

Hearing this loud and clear, A-list actress and compassionate PETA friend Gillian Anderson really came through to lend her support to this issue. Her voice can now be heard narrating a shocking, moving investigation video that takes you into the depths of rabbit fur farming.

The video was unveiled earlier today at a news conference outside Armani's Michigan Avenue store in Chicago. I strongly encourage you to watch this video and pledge to be fur-free. Gillian, PETA, and all the rabbits of the world will thank you for it.

Gillian Anderson may be just weeks away from delivering her third baby, but the gorgeous X-Files star is squeezing in one last film project before the big arrival.

Our favorite redhead is all set to narrate a brand-new video of undercover footage taken inside European and Chinese rabbit fur farms, as part of PETA Europe's campaign to pressure Giorgio Armani to stick to his fur-free pledge—which, as we reported yesterday, he's clearly having trouble with, if the freaky fur coats for toddlers in his new collection are anything to go by.

Gillian, who is well aware that most children have a natural affinity for and love of animals, wants to strike while the iron is hot, so she has agreed to spearhead PETA Europe's campaign against the designer. The dedicated animal rights advocate says, "I am stunned that Armani has gone back on his word. I can't understand why anyone would want to use real fur, and especially rabbit because it is so easy to replicate as the pile is so short."

Gillian has helped the animals repeatedly over the years, and she won PETA Europe's Humanitarian Award back in 2006. She invited PETA Vice President Dan Mathews to give a talk at her daughter's school in London, and she helped map out PETA Europe's Armani campaign strategy at the classy Groucho Club on Monday night. Though, of course, there wasn't a champagne in sight—Gillian and Dan worked hard over glasses of lemonade and apple crumble. Cute ….

X-Files: I Want to Believe comes out today, and we can't wait to see it. Besides marking the return of one of the best shows ever made—in my personal opinion—the new X-Files movie reunites two of our longtime favorite people: Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny.

In 1996, David signed our "Get Gillette Off the Set" petition, which led to one of PETA's greatest victories against animal testing. Oh, David Duchovny, why don't you love me?

Gillian's also a great friend to animals, having spoken up for bulls in Nevada and elephants in Chicago. In 2005, after Covance tried to stop PETA from showing footage in which the lab was torturing animals, Gillian put the videos up on her own site—and PETA won the suit to screen the footage. Because of Gillian's commitment to helping animals, she won PETA's Humanitarian Award in 2006.

We love David and Gillian, and we're sure that their new movie will be just as wonderful as they are. See you at the theater!
