I'm convinced that there actually are eight days in Paul McCartney's week. How else does the world's hottest sexagenarian find the time to do all the work he does for animals? The latest in his long line of animal-friendly efforts? Paul lent his legendary voice to our newest exposé, which shatters through the brick and mortar of slaughterhouses and factory farms to show people what really happens to animals before they end up on people's dinner plates. In the video, Paul states, "If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be vegetarian."
And, in a PETA Files exclusive interview, you can hear what Paul has to say about how easy it is to go vegetarian—especially in London, which we recently named the most vegetarian-friendly city in the world—and learn about the thrill he gets from eating cruelty-free:

I have sent Pauls video to EVERYONE I know. Although, I have pissed off many, made them gag and scream, I also helped change a fews minds. We all need to keep seeing such courageous acts of humanity. Thank you Paul & Peta

At age 67 MACCA remains the most famous and humane vegetarian in the world. He still in musical prime too evidenced by his captivating live 2009 New York City concert CD and the incredible "Fireman" Electric Arguments CD.

I watched a video similar to the one shown with Paul and this is why I became a vegetarian. I am 28 and have only been a vegetarian for 4 months now and feel I owe so much to this earth and its animals, I feel so guilty for starting this lfiestyle later in life, but I am so glad to be here now. I never knew how cruel we (humans) were. Now I know and I let other people know. I find it interesting, as I have sent factory farm videos to friends and family members and they get so upset with me and so disgusted by what they see. They ignore it, though. Our society ignores it. What we do is absolutely wrong. Thank you, Paul, for taking a stand.

You have to admire celebrities like Paul McCartney. He could easily sit on his ass all day and enjoy the good life. Instead he tries to make the world better for all living things. Though sometimes encountering ridicule for his efforts, Sir Paul refuses to back down. Courage and compassion like that should inspire us all.

Kudos to Paul for standing up for animals.
A few myths he seemed to give credence to: human beings are not supposed to eat ANY animal products. Our bodies are not designed for them. We are incapable of chasing down the animals we eat, and killing them with our bare hands, and eating them without cooking them. We are not supposed to drink milk from cow's udders. We are not supposed to search bird's nests for eggs. All these are totally unnatural acts.
He shouldn't even have mentioned protein, it is a non-issue. I have been vegan for 28 years and never once worried about whether I was 'getting enough protein'.
He looks marvellous for his age.

I love that comment about walking past a field of animals with a clear conscience too because its exactly how I've felt since I've turned veggie! I live in Wales so as u can imagine there are quite a lot of fields of animals and I just love being able to look at them without feeling guilty. Paul is amazing!

Lisa - you shouldn't feel guilty for starting later on in life the important thing is that you have made the decision now. I felt the same when I turned veggie last year but then I thought we all have to start somewhere and if you haven't been brought up as a veggie its more difficult to make that decision. But now I'm so glad that I did! Paul himself didn't turn veggie til he was in his 30s and look at him now! :)
