—Sir Roger Moore
On the heels of its recent Selfridges victory, PETA U.K. has named Sir Roger Moore 2009's Person of the Year.
The celebrated actor's tireless and successful efforts against foie gras began three years ago when Moore narrated a video about its production that has attracted more than 300,000 viewers. Since then, Moore has written to every member of the House of Commons asking them to help end foie gras sales in the U.K. and penned many pieces for national publications in his unending attempt to spread the word against the deadly force-feeding of ducks and geese.
For his inspiring accomplishments, Moore will be honored with a plaque and a copy of PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk's One Can Make a Difference.

Roger Moore you are a true gentleman. I knew what fois gras was and would never eat it but until now had never seen a video of it. I didn't realise that so few countries had banned it. It is completely barbaric and must go against every animal right known to man. Why would any one want to eat a diseased organ of an animal who has existed in such a horrific way. They have not lived and these poor creatures probably wake up every morning wishing that it is their last. I just don't understand cruelty for profit. The world is a very sick place. I have been trying to educate my family and friends on the poultry and pig farming industries and many have listened however many people when faced with the facts choose to eat factory farmed animals. I just don't understand. I think it's easier for people when they ignore it.
Thank you PETA and Roger Moore for this video and my sincere congratulations go to Roger Moore for his tireless efforts which until today I didn't know about.
Thank you.

Roger Moore was chosen over Leona Lewis, Paul McCartney, Jeff Beck and Stella McCartney?

Bob Barker and Roger Moore, what a combo, both vigorous and kind and handsome as the Dickens. Our side has the best people on it!
