Is there no animal safe from Omar's down time?
Upon hearing about Omar's ghoulish vacation plans, we dashed off a letter to the aging shortstop asking him to solve his midlife crisis in a way that doesn't involve torturing and killing animals.
Buy a convertible, go skydiving, date a woman half your ageājust don't drag animals into it, OK, Omar?

Please be a positive role model and do not torture these beautiful bulls or any other creatures. Please give back to your community by helping to feed the hungry and the poor or something positive. People look up to you, so PLEASE do not let them down,
Thank you,
Dina Fink

If he needs something to do in the off season, why doesn't he go play baseball in Japan?

Way too many Baseball, Football and Hockey players hunt and fish. Some of the most garish ones even wear fur.

Please do something constructive for people or animals instead of partipating in this cruelty.

Please lets stop the madness, love animals let them live like God intended them to live! These animals deserve our respect!! not fear us. Why is it considered a sport of any kind when animals are suffering needlessly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember attending bullfighting at a young age. Would be interested in seeing how his career goes.

You are suppose to be a role model! What's wrong with you? All animals have a right to live. Don't you think that many fans will follow your footsteps??? How can you just be ok into taking up a so called sport as bullfighting? And to top it off, whach horses suffer just to make their jokeys and the beters money? I'm very disappointed in you! My child was a fan of yours and I decided to let my 16 yr old know the truth behind your cruel decisions. Sad to say that he is very upset and disappointed knowing that once a hero now a person who decided to inflict pain on animals.

Alisa recommended Omar date a woman as if women aren't animals and that is incorrect. Omar, Alisa and I are animals and there's no good reason to suggest otherwise.

Good job Toby....you know, because we all needed that clarification.
Quit reading too much into her sentence as there was nothing wrong or misguiding with her choice of wording.
Go back to reading your BIO 101 book to see what else you can impress us with! :)

I have been a vegetarian and animal rights advocate for well over 25 years and have to admit sometimes overzealots have it wrong by looking at one part of a persons outlook. Omar has been a positive influence on humanity in so many ways. Instead of hating on him why not use a little love to educate him. I think he would respond. Sometimes animal lovers alienate instead of educate...just like the right wing politics. Be careful that your passion does not turn into something something more sordid.

Cindy,
You just wrote a great post about reaching out to others and not alienating them. However, you just did what you advocated against.
You just alienated "right wing" politicians.
Lets not get into politics on here. That is a whole other can of worms.
