What do you get when PETA teams up with Chuck D of Public Enemy and his wife, Dr. Gaye Theresa Johnson, a professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara; Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine; Serj Tankian of System of a Down; Fletcher Dragge of Pennywise; and every member of Anti-Flag? I'd say you get the most impressive band of musical talent ever to rage against the U.S. military's animal-abuse machine.

Each of the notables listed above has signed PETA's petition calling on the Department of Defense to end the gruesome, hideously cruel abuse of animals in training exercises, which include stabbing, shooting, and burning live pigs, cutting off goats' legs, and poisoning monkeys. There are better ways to train medics that don't rely on tormenting animals.
Caring people are demanding that the U.S. military follow Bolivia's lead by banning all animal abuse in military training exercises. Join the fight by adding your name to our petition.

WE are supposed to be able to count on the U.S. military, but how can we can't on them when they are torturing animals? If the military can't train their soldiers without using animals they must not be as resourceful as they claim to be.

Animal abuse is a sick power game. These scumbags think it's fine to mutilate and poison living creatures, who then die prolonged, agonizing deaths, just so they can practice something they could easily do with dummies and simulators. It's disgusting that any cruelty, let alone this level of cruelty, goes on anywhere. And the fact that the military are responsible is further outrageous, as they have all the funding and training they need to do this stuff without hurting another creature.
I am sickened. This must stop right now.

Serj Tankian's increased involvement in the animal rights movement is very encouraging. He's a luadable Armenian. He also knows that military leaders and troops can be extremely cruel and deadly to innocent people and animals.

...As long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. Men cannot reap joy or love as long as they murder and cause pain....- Pythagoras, pre-Socratic philospher
Step into the 21st century and realize you DO NOT require these barbaric methods to train soldiers. As a former soldier and medic, I NEVER had to use these inhumane methods to obtain my skills, there were and are far superior and humane means by which to acquire the necessary skills.

I love the fact that this is getting more and more public. Spending our tax dollars on torturing animals is unacceptable. It is immoral, unethical, and is in fact illegal but since it is the good ol' government and done in the name of fighting terrorism (the old standby) the avg American accepts it. NOT ANYMROE PEOPLE!!!

stop torture of animals

EVIL, UNETHICAL, A-MORAL AND THESE BARBARIANS NEED TO BE CHARGED WITH CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY AND THESE ANIMALS ARE A GIFT FROM GOD AND DESERVE TO HAVE A WONDERFUL LIFE. THEY WILL PAY FOR TORTURING ANIMALS FOR ANY REASON. WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND. THEY ARE NOT PEOPLE THEY NEED TO BE PUT OUT OF THE MISERY OF DEFENCELESS ANIMALS. PEOPLE THAT TORTURE ANIMALS CAN JUST AS EASILY TORTURE AND KILL PEOPLE. WE DON'T WANT THESE EVIL SO CALLED PEOPLE IN OUR SOCIETY. REAL MEN WOULD NOT HURT DEFENCELESS ANIMALS. THEY ARE BORN KILLERS AND I HOPE THEY DON'T HAVE CHILDREN TO SPREAD THAT SICKNESS. LET'S FIGHT THIS EVIL BARBARIANS. THE GOVERNMENT HAS TO STOP THIS, NOW.

Animals deserve to be treated with respect...we are stewards for all animals on this planet. It's time to quit the abuse...I object to this kind of treatment.

Linda,
How can we charge these people with crimes against humanity? Last time I checked, they uesed animals as their test bed. Not humans. You see, you can't charge a person for crimes against humans, when the sole purpose of these experiements is to save human lives. That would be a tough one to prosecute.
I still find it amazing that "peaceful" people call for harm and/or death to the so-called animal "torturers".
Just remember the techniques the medics and corpmen learn are saving the lives of soldiers and Marines in harms way.

This is an outrage. How someone can use God's name one moment and claim to be upholding God's country etc etc etc the one moment and then go and make a mockery of God by disrespecting His creations that were created out of love is beyond my comprehension, actually it is way under my level of functioning certainly not beyond it. How hypocrytical and blind can one still get?

This is horrifying behavior. I am absolutly appaled by what these men ( and i use that word loosely ) are doing to these innocent animals. maybe someone should turn the tables and put them through the same kind of tourture. maybe then they would change how they do things. It's disgusting and should end NOW..Respect life all kinds..we were not put here to kill or be judge, jury and executioner.
