I knew it couldn't be that easy. Sick Sick Sick. I guess the only "good" thing (and I am using that term loosly) is that so far the number is small. I am hoping that it will end NOW, so they don't cause more pain to animals and damage to the environment. I am saddened and extremly disgusted.

Absolutely outrageous! I cannot imagine taking a dolphin from its pod (family), removing it from the vast ocean that it lives in, and violently capturing it for a life of confinement. I simply do not understand how anyone could see this any other way!

I am very grateful for having the opportunity to view "The Cove" and expose, yet another atrocity that humans inflict on animals. Armed with this information, I will do my best to educate others and remain optimistic that one day we will no longer see animals as commodities.

The slaughter of dolphins & whales in Japan is so hard to see & hear about. These creatures are so intelligent & beautiful. It's just so heartbreaking to know that people can be so cruel.

I never had the opportunity to see "The Cove". You can sign up on Amazon.com to be notified when it becomes available on DVD. It's so hard for me to watch shows like this. "Earthlings" and "Dealing Dogs" were heart rending but I feel I owe it to the victims of human abuse to bear witness to their suffering and relate the facts to those who strive to be blissfully uninformed.

I keep saying the Japanese government cannot be trusted. in 1941 the Japanese ambassador was in the United States declaring Japan's loyalty to our country and two days later Pearl Harbor was bombed. We learned the hard way not to trust the Japanese government. After Hiroshima/Nagasaki we should have let them on their own to recover the best they could, not help them get back on their feet. If they had used an atomic bomb on the United States they would not have helped in the recovery effort. I am old school on some things, I believe in an eye for an eye.

By the way, if any are wondering if I use a Japanese computer, no. My husband built it from American made components. Slow, but at least it's not Japanese. Our only Japanese vechicle is our Honda Valkerie motorcycle, which has more American machined and assembled parts than Harley Davidson (The Hell's Angels, whom we minister to, now permits members to own Hondas because they have more american made and assembled parts than Harley does-Harley parts are now made in Mexico and assembled in Wisconsin). Our truck is a 1970 all steel American made Chevy, our car is a also an older Chevy. I am slowly banning Japan from my life, and I wish more Americans would do this.

By the way, if we did not have the Honda, what would we have? An American made Indian motorcycle. That's my dream.

This is disgusting! I remember something being on the news a couple of years ago, about The Annual Japanese Dolphin "Cull", PETA Friend Hayden Panetierre was there with many others; protesting & trying to drive the dolphins out of the cove, & the Japanese were hitting them with their oars but the operation failed & the Dolphins were killed, & Hayden was on the beach crying!! This is horrible!

The country who has been a leader in technology and who produces some of the finest motor cars in the world--how could they be so "prehistoric" in their view of the natural world?

If every person who loves animals and owns a Japanese made auto would go directly to their dealer and let them know about this and ask them to contact the major auto dealers, and then also contact the Japanese consulate, their elected officials, the pressure would be ENORMOUS. If profits are the only way to shake these people to the core, then so be it. BOYCOTT JAPAN....NOW!!!

Morally, killing dolphins and whales isn't any worse than killing cows, chickens and pigs. This slaughter is not any worse than what happens to "food" animals in our own country and around the globe every day. We need to stop killing ALL animals.

I agree that it is wrong to kill any animal but some people aren't ready to make that connection. It takes time......one step and/or victory at a time.

In the meantime let's give this dolphin fight everything we've got and not minimize it by pointing out faults (real or perceived) of others.

i dont understand these people, whats the point of capturing dolphins when they are perfectly happy living where they are. killing any animal is wrong but killing whales is well out of order, they are going to make them exstinct if they carry on. i wish people would learn to leave things that arent theres alone!

I agree, not all japanese are killing dolphins. Most do not know nor do they approve when they are told about it. However, I know, from personal experience people don't want to be involved in anything that messes with their 'happiness' (sticking their head in the sand)...I have gotten my friends involved with issues, they get all hyped up but then...when they see a minimal result, they move on to 'greater things'. Just what the fisherman are banking on...people just being happy with watching a movie and signing a petition...we need to get serious...

This site and all its news is so sadly overwhelming... its makes me cry over and over. My inside hurt now, again because I bleed for the hurt and dying. They are us.

I have decided that I will focus all my efforts to donate from my company and personally. I will become more involved now.

I don't want to see the sadness in the eyes that wonder from day to dat what life is really supposed to be like.

i know this site is extremely overwhelming but very knowledgable for the world to see !! it makes me very sad too! it also at the same time makes me more aware of what is going on in the world and it is my obligation to inform others to live a better cruelty free life!! everytime i get onto any PETA sites it is horrifying and makes me sick to my stomach to know how cruel and inhumane humans are and what little compassion they have for animals. I am against animal cruelty as much as the next person, but don't just go out against Japan! America does so many terrible things to animals, how would you feel if people screamed insults at you because some people in your country abuse animals?
