This weekend, an attempt by Ronald McDonald to con San Francisco youngsters into eating more greasy, artery-clogging burgers and McNuggets was interrupted by an anonymous "chicken," who apparently was not going to take McDonald's abuse of chickens lying down.
Here comes the wind-up …

Note the artful splatter of the vegan cream.

Mr. Chicken makes his getaway in his trusty "old school" Vans.

Here's hoping Ronald got the message that he needs to start treating chickens with a little more respect. Switching to CAK would be a good start.

Why Controlled-Atmosphere Killing has not been approaved is beyond comprehension. The CAK benefits both the employee and the animals and CAK should be implemented in ALL slaughterhouses.

I'm a fan, but you might want to think of re-naming your blog:
Peta-Files ~ Pedophiles

This is awesome.
Ever since I was little, I've always despised Ronald McDonald even while I begged my mom to buy me food from there.
Today, as a vegan, I oppose McDonald's corporation and work for a future where other animals are no longer slaughtered for their flesh or exploited in any way by humans.

To quote my favorite T.V. animated dog, Brian from Family Guy: "Oh, that is absolutely HILARIOUS!"
Did anyone explain to the parents in the audience why "Ronald" just got creamed by a chicken?

Right on my Chicken Friend! You speak for millions of us, humans and chickens! We love you PETA!!

Hilarious!

As much as I hate that clown, I fail to see how hitting one in the face stands out as a protest. Getting hit by custard pies is what they do.

Chicken McNuggets don't even contain chicken meat.

I don't like McDonald's either and think some of their practices deplorable, but I don't think a children's show is the best place to do this.

Resplendent San Francico has many vegetarians and animal rights proponents. It's a very humane and progressive city.

Not really sure if the poor schmuck being paid by McDonalds deserves getting pied in the face. I have a feeling his life is miserable enough. What about the McDonalds execs who actually make decisions?

Has any vegan taken a moment to consider the millions of animals killed every day in the harvesting of fruits and vegetables? I'm not talking about those sprayed with pesticides. Even organically grown foods get bugs that need to be washed off or killed in the harvesting and delivery process. How many millions have died for your grain of rice?

Wow, i think that you guys are crazy about PETA. Peta are just a bunch of people who think that McDonald and KFC are devils. Comon, everyone know that these corporation kill animals..AND? They don't kill little kids for their meat!!!

Oh come on, Scott, really? The mice in the combines argument? Just so you know, meat eaters are actually responsible for killing more "combine by-catch" than vegetarians are because so much grain and soy is funneled through cows, chickens and pigs in the months before they are slaughtered. So by eating vegetarian foods, we are responsible for fewer accidental animal deaths, too.

Lacey,
By Scott's arguement you still have blood on your hands.
Does it really matter how many animals are accidentally killed in farming? The point is you eat farmed foods and subsequently some animals are killed as a consequence.
Anyway, that chicken is lucky the clown was a puss and didn't do anything about it. If it would have been some crazy gun toting hunter, he probably would have killed the chicken along with the chickens family because after all hunters love killing things.

Lacey, I could not have said it better. I get hit with the combine and pesticide issue a lot. Thanks!

Scott sounds like just another uninformed PETA basher. Old argument, Scott. Maybe you wanna get some new material. GO LACEY AND GO PETA!

Cue hateful news propaganda in 3..2..1..
P.S. "Chicken McNuggets don't even contain chicken meat." -Xu. What the hell?
P.P.S. I never realized that "PETA files" pun. LOL, I guess.

Posted by: pepper | September 22, 2009 06:53 PM
Lacey, my point is I've never heard anyone acknowledge the suffering of these animals. Why is that?
Posted by: Scott | September 22, 2009 08:29 PM
Glad they waited until the little girl was up there. Stay classy, schmucks.

Poetic justice...I love it!!!

the "dead mouses in the wheelbarrow" argument is a pointless schtick and nothing more. it is contrived arbitrary half-baked nonsense and not rooted in any sort of factual basis. sensationalist fodder and slick "mass media" propaganda for the dim-witted among us. rainforest deforestation, it is done to create more grazing land for cows that will eventually be slaughtered, now that is real.

Okay I am pretty annoyed at all this PETA bashing because I love PETA a lot for what they do. One, I think the name PETA Files is pretty funny and I'm sure whoever named this blog that name knew about it because it is blatantly obvious.
And Scott, millions of insects are killed everyday. Not just by harvesting but by stepping on them and stuff. It is literally impossible not to kill them by accident. And if we do not eat vegetables, what do we eat? It's not like eating meat where we can find substitutes. There would be nothing to eat and the entire human race would die. If you do not approve of farming you must not approve in walking either. It's a little different to kill animals intentionally, especially in the cruel ways us humans do.
Anyway, back to the original post! LOL. PETA, I think this was bloody brilliant! Really made me laugh and I personally do not think McDonald's should be actually going to schools and trying to convince them to eat their junk. Okay, this comment is getting to long so I'm going to stop writing now :P

Scott, if you have the time I highly recommend the effective advocacy essay available @ goveg.com, but here is the readers digest abridged version: You could go live in the woods and be a level 5 vegan, or you can live in the real world and expose others to your example of leaving the smallest possible footprint on our animals and our earth.

What animals have to go through for these ignorant arrogant fast food industrys, it's the least they deserve!...whats a pie to the face? I bet the pig or the cow or the chicken would prefer that than the horrible death they receive in the slaughterhouse!

wow... i think ronald mcdonald deserves more than a pie in the face he deserves to be DEAD! HOW would u like it if u got ur head chopped off ? i thought so .. animal cruelity needs to stop this instint.
