Pink/Michelle Obama

I really hope that Michelle Obama was able to take in Pink's sold-out show at the D.C.-area Patriot Center last night.

Before launching into "Dear Mr. President," Pink showed some love for the current missus: "Let's get political for a second. Since we're near D.C., I have to give a shout-out to Michelle Obama, who has announced that she is officially fur-free. I love an animal-lovin' first lady!"

Even when she's on the road, hard at work, our pal Pink is never too busy to give props to people who are doing their part to protect animals.

I am glad that she does not wear fur but I still can't wait to vote her husband out of office in 2012.

If he is still in office after the 2012 election I am moving to Canada. I plan on helping protest the seal hunt so at least the seals will benefit from my being there.

the first lady is awesome in every way!

When did this happen?

Posted by: Sophia | September 30, 2009 06:17 AM

That is awesome! That a woman in such a position in the public eye, sets this type of example. There is NO need to wear real fur or ANY animal. There needs to be laws put in place that will help prevent and one day stop this from happening. GOOD JOB FIRST LADY!!!

Thanks PINK and thanks Michelle! Hopefully Michelle's Fur Free style will inspire other women who still wear fur to stop! Great story!

She maybe fur free but it looks as though she is wearing leather gloves.

Reverend Meg,

Why?

Posted by: Brad King | October 1, 2009 03:54 PM

Dear Meg,
I hope you enjoy Canada. One less nutball in this country will be good for all.

My props to the First Lady as well.

Canada has better government? NO WAY. Nothing but a bunch of egotistical children that waste our money and get nothing accomplished. But back to the subject - I'm glad to hear that Michelle won't wear fur. Now how do we convince her to not use any animal products?

Love Pink! What a fantastic, brave voice for the animals!

It makes me happy to see more & more people realizing that live animals are killed for their fur & that there is no need to wear it, as we have incredible technology today that allows us to create fake fur that looks & feels just like the real thing! AND I recently found out that they are killing cats & dogs now to make fur coats.... BASTARDS! I have 3 dogs & my dog's fur belongs on their body, not on mine or anyone else's. Let's keep getting that message out there & thanking the people who are going fur free! God Bless you guys & keep fighting the good fight for the animals who have no voice! WE ARE THEIR VOICE!

We do not need her up here, and what kind of reverend is she?

Posted by: Beth Stephens | October 1, 2009 09:42 PM

Dear Meg,

Although I am Canadian, I strong believe that you need to support your country and get over your negativity about Mr. President Obama. You should try to run the country or at least to run your entire family and you'll see how dificult it is.

We do not need negative people like you here in Canada. Plus if you want to help seals it is not with a violence or negative discurs that we can win.

Diplomacy and hard work is the key.

Meilleures salutations.

I love the Obamas. First a torture ban then a garden and now no fur! I love you both in the White House. Yeah Michelle. I would vote for you both all over again. What lovely examples you are.

SORRY FOR WRITING IN CAPITAL LETTERS, IT'S ONLSY THAT MY SIGHT IS HORRIBLE. THE THING IS, THIS IS O.K FOR PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THE U.S.A.(HERE IN SPAIN, WERE I LIVE, WHAT YOU CALL "THE FIRST LADY", HERE'S JUST CALLED THE PRESIDENT'S WIFE, AND SHE DOESN'T WEAR FUR. LET'S SEE, HERE WEARING FUR IS DIRECTLY ASSOCIATED WITH RIGHT WING PEOPLE. AND, IN SPITE OF THE HORRIBLE "CORRIDAS DE TOROS", WHICH I'D LIKE YOU TO KNOW HAS A GREAT GREAT MOMEVEMENT AGAINST, CITIZENS IN GENERAL DON'T WEAR FUR. CURIOUS, BUT TRUE. I'D LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE AN OFFICE IN SPAIN BECAUSE THIS IS JUST ANOTHER WORLD, AND THERE'S NOT MUCH I CAN DO FROM HERE, SPECIALLY BEING AS ILL AND POOR AS I AM. THANKS VERY MUCH. HUGS FOR ALL.

Dear Brad King,

As long as you're talking about one less nutball in this country, when are you moving out of this nation?

Posted by: Moshe | October 2, 2009 12:20 PM

I LOVE PRESIDENT OBAMA AND MICHELLE, FOR HER NOT WEARING FUR, AND HAVING A DOG IN THE WHITEHOUSE (BO). I JUST WISH MICHELLE BEING SUCH A COMPASSIONATE WOMAN WOULD PROMOTE VEGETARIANISM AS A WAY TO PROMOTE HEALTHY EATING AND BETTER HEALTH FOR OUR COUNTRY (AND OF COURSE LESS SUFFERING FOR ANIMALS SINCE ANIMALS SUFFER WHEN WE EAT THEM).

We do not want Americans here in Canada, stay where you are.For once you have voted in someone with more than 1/2 a brain!!!! woohoo or should l say with the brain on the upper portion of his body.

A great first step for animals from a great First Lady.

Posted by: Marci King | October 4, 2009 02:45 PM

One last thought about people who wear fur. They must really be insecure with their looks if they want animals killed for the fur and skin. Obviously, wearing fur makes you look like an animal which baffles me. Why do you want to look like an animal? Gee, they might as well go roll in some feces and smell like one too, if they don't already, and complete the circle. IDIOTS!!!!! Perhaps we should allow these humans to be skinned in the same manner so we can make our animals look good in THEIR skin. LOL! People, you wear your skin, let the animals wear theirs!!!

Personally, I am a vegan, and have been since I was about 8 years old. I've been involved in animal rights all my life. I think we should concentrate on congratulating those who have gone one step further in animal rights, especially those in the limelight. It may be a terrible thing that those of us who are not in the limelight do not get as much praise for the work we do for animal rights, but it is the sad truth that our affect on the population as a whole is far less than those who do less but who are in the limelight. ANY move for animal rights by famous people is a great step in the right direction and we should praise them, not condemn them. One step at a time dear friends. It's idiots like Naomi Campbell who use it as a promotion thing who we should condemn. It will take many hundred years before the USA ever has a decent president and first lady, but at least these two are a step in the right direction. The USA is finally growing up. xx
