ONPRC Kills (More) Monkeys

Well, it's been barely seven months, and ONPRC is in hot water again. According to a lawsuit filed by InVivo Therapeutics—one of the companies that hired ONPRC to torture experiment on monkeys—ONPRC so severely neglected seven monkeys whose spinal cords it had surgically severed that four of the monkeys had to be euthanized.
Of course, the lawsuit is a lose-lose for the monkeys. InVivo had paid ONPRC to paralyze the animals so that researchers could implant them with a device developed by InVivo in order to see if they would regain any movement. In the lawsuit, InVivo alleges that early in the research period, more than one third of the monkeys provided by ONPRC suffered illnesses or injuries such as bladder problems because ONPRC failed to provide the proper post-surgery care or a medical device necessary to keep their bodily systems functioning. InVivo also alleges that at least one monkey developed "a debilitating staph infection" as a result of bacteria at ONPRC.
The publicity surrounding the case has shined another spotlight on abuses at ONPRC as well as the inadequacy of the federal law that is supposed to protect animals in laboratories.
If you have a strong stomach, go to StopAnimalTests.com to find out more about the cruel, redundant, and archaic experiments conducted on primates at ONPRC, and then dash off a letter to the National Institutes of Health, urging it to stop funneling your tax dollars to ONPRC.

My heart skipped a beat when i saw that pic of that poor monkey, how the f**k can they still allow this to happen it really gets my blood boiling and once again im mad as hell that people can do this to animals, their f**king low lifes. I havent got a strong stomach and i carnt go to the site to see more abuse caught on camera because i know it will haunt me, when are these MAD scientists gonna realise that testing on animals is barbaric and cruel. i hope someone in power eventually grows a brain overnight and make it illegal to do this, those poor animals deserve better. peta do all u can to make this stop.

people who test on, abuse, torture, mutilate , murder and neglect animals are a breed of humans that I can not relate to in any way, I never will, to be able to do any of that to an innocent being is pure evil.I have known of and spoken out against animal cruelty, murder and abuse for over 10 years however I shall never ever be used to or able to relate to the people who do that it is sick and a living horror there is something deeply wrong and evil with people who do that.
It is not about "mis-information" or never being taught, when you have a living being in front of you, you would have to have no heart and no soul to be able to do that.Animal cruelty has to be abolished in all forms.It is the longest and most widely accepted monstrosity that the human race is guilty of-at least those whom have no humanity and speaking of humanity-non humans posses more humanity than most people-more unconditional love, more noble compassion and more grace for all living creations.

Animal cruelty needs to stop! Is anyone listening?! I love monkeys and all other animals and would give my life in a heartbeat if it could end animal torture.
There is NO justification for humans behavior to our beautiful animals. Those poor monkeys:(

I just cannot understand why we are so arrogant to think we are the only species on the planet with emotions feelings and the right to be here. People are so self centered and it will become the downfall of the human race. So Sad.

most of these cruel experiments they have other ways to get results instead of torturing thinking feeling closest to human in dna creatures. its cruel and a waste of taxpayer money.

Even green and pristine Portland Oregan has places that sanction heinous cruelty to animals even against primates our closest animal relatives ! Very bad !

Unbelievable that there are people today who can justify vivisection simply because it's not killing humans and it's humans that matter more. That is speciesism, and it's dispicable.
For those who do support vivisection, remember this - aeverything that is tested on animals has to be retested on humans.

I can't uphold the use of any animal for cruel laboratory testing. I find it even more disturbing when I look at our closest relatives...primates. It's like it's being done to one of our own.

For decades all the AR's groups combined have been 100% ineffective in lessening this abuse. It is time to change tactics and focus on PURE science, that is, the FRAUD of vivisection. Howard Lyman used to be employed by HSUS and was very successful in his speeches which were 99% health, environment, etc. WITHOUT animal welfare concerns. He was fired by HSUS due to the Oprah lawsuit costing them millions. Until groups like Peta see the light in this above example vivisection will continue without restraint.Peta needs to fund scientists to meet with legislatures in forming a Medical Moderinization bill. ONLY when the government funding is cut-off or lessened will anti- vivisection gains be made. Howard Lyman's equivalent Dr. Ray Greek from www.curedisease.com spends alot of time at home in his office writing. He should be on the road lecturing daily about how vivisection has delayed progess with all types of dead-ends and false-positives to the tune of tens of millions of human deaths.In very much the same way Mr.Lyman was not cost-effective to HSUS; we need Peta to stop focusing on vivisection issues for fund-raising purposes and get to the heart of the matter, which is the INVALIDITY of it.The recent murder of a Yale student had media glorifying her as a "brilliant" research student: her career goal was to be a vivisector. She has received all types of alcolades 100% praising her vocation as if her present research project on mice was totally legitimate.
