Chrissie Hynde

Pretenders frontwoman and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Chrissie Hynde never has a frog in her throat when it comes to speaking up for animals. So when she heard about Brookstone's sale of cruel Frog-O-Spheres, she immediately fired off a letter to Brookstone CEO Philip Roizin.

In her letter, Hynde writes, "Foot massagers and grill equipment can live quite happily in boxes; animals cannot. Brookstone should rely on sales of innovative and cruelty-free gadgets instead of profiting from animal suffering."

I hear you loud and clear, Chrissie—and hopefully Brookstone will too.

Do you want your voice heard? While we can't help you become a famous rock and roll star, we can help you raise your voice for animals! Use our form to send an e-mail to Brookstone urging the company to pull Frog-O-Spheres off of its shelves immediately.

P.S. On second thought, maybe we can help you with the rock star part.

I have loved Chrissie close to 30 years... her love of animals and the things she does to help them makes me love her even more. Go Girl!

The only reason Brookstone is continuing to sell Frog-O-Spheres is customers are buying them. If you see someone buying one of those things, do not hesitate to tell them what you think about that.

This can be easily fixed with just adding water filters.

Dman, let me give you the typical PETA rebuttal.

That's not the point! Frogs shouldn't be sold like clothing! They have emotions just like you! How would YOU like to be stuffed into a glass bowl and force you to swim forever? JESUS DOES NOT SUPPORT FROG ABUSE!!!

Chrissie Hynde is my favorite animal rights activist, rock star, vegetarian and vocalist. She has carried the Pretenders for thirty years. She's great friends with MACCA, Morrissey and Jeff Beck too !

ALL forms of mobile life want freedom—from a fly stuck in a spider web to a frog in a Frog-O-Sphere. Anyone who doesn't realize this is woefully unobservant.

I think in most states a license is required to sell pets. Brookstone isn't a pet store and may not have licenses. I hope if enough complaints to states roll in, various states will make it enough of a pain for them that they stop selling these poor little guys. Also, due to the fact that they aren't native, other agencies may wish to weigh in.

They make a good card sized multi-tool.
