Chicken-Catching Country Crooner to Help Birds?

Kevin's been given a new start on life. Wouldn't it endear him to millions of people if he were to extend that same second chance to those in need—say, to chickens who were abused on factory farms?
We're asking Kevin to donate part of his prize money to a farmed-animal sanctuary to help care for chickens abused by the meat and egg industries. Kevin has the opportunity to give chickens the chance to enjoy all the things that they were denied on factory farms, such as building nests, caring for their young, and enjoying the company of their flock.
We also sent him a congratulatory present, of course: a package of Boca Chik'n Patties. Delicious!

Even if he chooses not to donate part of the money at least he won enough of it that if he is careful of his finances he will never have to catch chickens again!

I watched America's Got Talent and I realized a lot of Americans, who voted for the winner, don't have any imagination. I didn't want Kevin to win because he was just a boring singer. There were other fantastic acts that should have won over a singer. Like Accrodunk, a group of young guys doing amazing acrobatic basketball tricks. They were amazing and different. Also Recycled Percussion who came in third. They were a group of guys who made music using things from the junkyard. I was sure they were going to win. They also were amazing. I think even the judges thought they were going to win. An opera singer came in second. Nothing against Kevin but the winner doesnt always have to be a singer. I just wish Americans would have voted for something totally different. But they just voted for a boring singer. No imagination.

Meg - finally someone talking sense. Instead of just tossing the money away, this will help him out and possibly find other jobs that don't require chicken catching.

The million dollars gets sent to him over a period of 40 years. There won't be much for him to spend after the government takes their share. So no, I don't think he'll be for this idea.

A million dollars over 40 years is approximately $15,000 a year after taxes. I worked with a man who won 4 million and he receives $123,000 a year after taxes over 20 years.
