Recently, members of PETA Asia-Pacific and Animosa stripped down to their daisies and took to their coffins outside the Giorgio Armani store in Taipei.

Armani demonstration

In 2007, Armani vowed to stop using fur, but several months later, his collection was full of rabbit fur.

PETA Asia-Pacific wanted to remind the designer that the pelts, ripped from the bodies of rabbits who kick and scream before they are hung upside down and decapitated, are indeed fur—and that fur is dead.

Giorgio Armani is a liar!

Armani... you have poor taste, your clothes are ugly as hell and I will never buy or wear your crap. How gives you the right to use innocent animals for your welfare jerk off.

The subhumans who torture rabbits fo fur are incarnations from hell !

ARMANI SCREWED UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm part of PETA Asia-Pacific,
and was(sadly) too busy to come and protest.

I love fashion, and personally, fur is SO outdated, cruel and discusting.
With fake fur, you can get it in any colour you want, and no animal had to die for it.

Fur is DEAD!!

Anyone who inflicts this level of pain towards another creature is the lowest of lowest. No amount of vanity and external `beauty' can compensate for ugliness of this internally chosen action.

How sad that Armani can't find a more humane way to make a living. Fur? Really? That's the only material he can use? Not very creative

Posted by: Petunia | August 27, 2009 12:27 PM

Armani makes me sick. I can afford Armani, but the rabbits need their fur much more than I do. I hate Armani

You people would all be buying everything Armani if they became a "vegan company" and held out on its promise. It's like one minute, "ARMANI IS SUBHUMAN!" and then the next minute, "OMG Armani is the shizzle."

Even if they stopped using fur instead of being vegan, you people would still be saying, "Yay! Armani is cool!" While the day before it would be, "ARMANI IS THE ZODIAC KILLER!"

Just sayin'
(Oh, Edward, what have you gotten yourself into?)

Posted by: Edward | August 27, 2009 02:05 PM

Yeah, Edward, that's the way it works. You patronize and support ethical companies and keep your money far away from the bastards.

Just basic psychology that works very well with big companies if we all stick together.

This is sickening. I am really disappointed with Armani.. I have a blouse from them and I honestly dont even want to look at it right now :/

Posted by: Michelle | August 27, 2009 05:52 PM

It's the idea that people can shout things like, "I shall never buy Armani!" one day, and the next day, "OMG I love this Armani stuff!" that gets under my skin.

Theravada Buddhist's seem to have animal rights down, albeit with more taste and tact.
Also, I agree with Edward.

Armani, I did not know you as a liar who could not keep his words and used fur in your dresses. With furs those beautiful dresses looked blood-stained to me. Please clean up your wardrobe and send the models for a bath.

I'm never buying rabbit fur again. Ever.
