PETA's reenactment of our "Fur Is Dead" public service announcement (PSA) stunned D.C. tourists last week. News crews from WRC-TV, Roll Call, and others caught all the action—giving new meaning to the term "beat reporting."
Thanks to all who made our action a smashing success!

I wish the writer of this blog Karin, would have used a different word than "smashing" since that is what seal murderers do to the seals they kill. They "smash" them!

There is NO justification to wear fur. Any humane Government would ban fur. Lamentably, there are no humane Governments in a world controlled by fallen and inhumane people.

The problem with some people is that they think animals are a lower class to humans. But the reality is, no matter how different animals may be to humans, they have beating hearts just like we do. And even though I'm just a 12 year old girl, its things like this that has me dead set on getting a job in the animal rights buisness when I get older. FUR IS DEAD!!!

"Fur is Dead?" - OK, I understand wearing pelts that the fur is dead, but when on an animal, it's alive but still called fur.
At least try to be more creative when you protest. This is probably one of the few things I do agree with you, but really - this is a bad choice of words in a society that is a bit naive. How about "Fur coats are dead"?

To the genius who commented that the "Fur is dead slogan" is not creative. This is what is called a double entendre -a saying with two meanings: the first, fur is actually a dead animal. Second, fur is dead, that is, it is "outdated". I hope this helps explain the slogan. Good luck!
