Thanks for all of your wonderful comments on this Win It Wednesday. The winner of the Devoted Creations gift basket is nicole linklider. Congratulations!
For me, opening a package of cruelty-free body products is like Christmas, so imagine how giddy I was when I got a peek at this week's "Win It" Wednesday prize. PETA is partnering with compassionate company Devoted Creations to offer one giant gift basket full of body lotions, face creams, and tanning products. There are 15 full-size bottles in this basket, and while I'm tempted to keep them all for myself, we're sharing the wealth with one lucky commenter.
What's the best thing about this week's prize? None of the products have been tested on animals. They proudly display PETA's cruelty-free bunny logo, so your day at the spa won't be interrupted by pangs of guilt.

How do you win? Big event coming up? Kids stressing you out? Tell us why you deserve some pampering. The most convincing comment will take home the prize.
The contest ends on July 22, 2009, and we'll choose one comment as the winner on July 24, 2009. Be sure to read our privacy policy and terms and conditions, as you're agreeing to both by commenting. Check back every Wednesday for new prizes. Good luck!

Hmm...I deserve to win because I work full-time, am in school full-time, and now I have relatives coming to visit! Also, I've been spending a lot of time researching and trying to find cruelty-free products...and I'm pleasantly surprised that I can find pretty much everything.

I'd love a pampering session - I'm preparing for a degree in September, and sorting it all out (on top of animal activism stuff) has me frazzled. :{

I don't deserve any pampering, but my aunt does.
The lady just passed her 75th birthday, and I am ashamed to say every one of us dropped the ball on this one...we all forgot, which was inexcusable.
My aunt still works 40 hours a week for the school system in Paso Robles, California, not because she wants to, but because she has to in order to survive. In her nonexsistant spare time she sells antiques in an antique mall. She is a widow; my uncle was almost 20 years older than my aunt (he was in his 80's when he died) and could not leave her much. Social security does not begin to pay the bills.
I will be sending her a card and a gift card this week so she can buy something totally un-necessary, along with a HUGE apology (which still won't be enough) but should I win the basket my husband and I will take it up to her. It would be a nice addition.

I would love to win this! I work a full time 8-5 job, and a very busy home life. I have a very active 7 year old daughter, a teething 5 month old daughter (which means NO sleep), and a video game playing husband. :) I also have 2 very bossy and demanding cats, who I can never say no to! I get up extra early in the morning to make sure I have time to get ready, then I get everyone else in the house ready. Work a full day, to come home and cook everyone dinner. I eat standing up while cooking, cause I knowt he baby won't let me have a chance to sit and eat. I clean up the house after feeding everyone. Then it's time for both of the kids to have their baths, story time, and bedtime, and I'm lucky if they actually go to bed quietly. :)
Please let me win these things. A hot bath and nice smelling creams sounds wonderful!

I need some pampering because I'm working 3 part time jobs and a full time student getting a bachelors in math and physics and a masters in physics in 5 years. It's pretty stressful >.<

I would love to win this for my mother. she has been working everyday at midnight for about 8 hours and comes home very tired. she has never had any sort of pampering and even though she isn't a vegeterian she has always had time to buy/cook anything vegeterian for my sisters and I. She spends everyday doing the laundry and cleaning up after our brothers, so a nice pampering would be the best for her

I indeed need pampering! ..although, someone may need it more than me. I am 21 years old and work a full time job. I work a nursing assistant job so I'm constantly thinking of helping others.. sometimes forgetting myself. And right now, I'm working on saving up for school to go back and switch my nursing pathway to a veterinarian's assistant of some sort. Any spare time I have, I use by visiting family, being with my rescue dog, Bella, and catching up with old friends.. rarely relaxing.

I believe I could use a little pampering and cheering up. Since the beginning of the month of June, my boyfriend of four years broke up with me in a pretty mean and undeserved way, then the next week I was told that I'm being laid off, and then the next week I had to go to the doctor from an unexpected but painful infection in my ankle, to which now my insurance is refusing to pay. It's been a tough month and I'm keeping hopeful that this will pass. :(

Becuase I couldn't afford these! and I love products that are not tested on animals.
Posted by: Aneliese | July 8, 2009 02:27 PM
I need some pampering not for a particularly special reason, but because I never get to buy ANY beauty products, because I can't find any local one's that are vegan and cruelty free and cheap enough for me to afford on my low income.
So that's why I would like them, because I refuse to buy the cheap cruelly manufactured beauty
products on the market.
I just love animal's, and peta <3

Why? hmmm...
I'm 19, I live in Argentina (let's start with that). I started uni this year, public university -which means that I have to be careful of the concequences that might bring, one has to be prepared fr anything every single da i go to class. And I started wrking this year too. My first important and serious job EVER at a lawyers buffet as a secretary. At first I thought it was the best, the coolest thing on earth ('yeah, i'm makin gmy own money, hw cool i am?') now i just hate it and i can't stand it one more day. It stresses me to be inside an office all day long. Plus my bosses...don't even get me started on that one! It would be nice to come home and have that basket full of awesome lotions and all to cheer me up (besides my lovely cat).
It's winter, cold outside, what's better than a hot bath to take my preocupations away, to let the stress out of my body...mmm that would be great.

Hi :-) I deserve to win because I work in a hospital with the chronically mentally ill and once a week I run a "healthy eating" group where we often talk about vegetarianism, and this week we researched vegetarianism on the web in the group. I set a good example for them because they know I'm a vegetarian and I love animals! I could use some pampering!!!

I would absolutely love to win this prize not for myself but for my mom!
She inspires me everyday to do the best I can and change lives one person at a time. Starting from 5:30 in the morning she is off to work as a teacher and works straight through to 3 or 4 o'clock!! (without a break most days!) She even works during the summer to help teach kids all that she can and help prepare them for a good foundation for their young lives. She then comes home and does all she can for her family cooking and cleaning for everyone just so she can do the best job as a mother that she can. After crashing in bed around midnight she is ready to start her day all over again!! I think she definately deserves a little, no A LOT of pampering!! :)
(Plus she's the only one that I got to fully accept my veggie lifestyle! ;p )

I would love to win this. I work full time and go to school full time (even summers). I start my intership this fall which will definately take a good amount of my time out of my life. I have been a vegitarian and animals rights activist for 8 years now and absolutely love cruelty-free products. I volunteer at a no-kill shelter when I have time off. Ive been looking for a package of something like this to share with my vegan girlfriends and this would make a lovely contribution. Im so down for pampering and this would help us take a load off the stressful days and nights. Please consider me and my girls! We would LOVE to win this and wind the nights down. Thank you and GOD bless. <3

I would love to win this! I deserve to win this because I would never be able to afford it! I live a vegan lifestyle and have a 17m old daughter who I am raising vegan as well. I work part-time and stay home with her during the day. It's so hard to find beauty and body care products that are vegan without spending a lot of money on them. Now that I have my daughter we both need our vegan skincare! It would be a great treat to win a gift like this. Go PETA!!

I believe i deserve this because my husband 6 months ago got heavy into drugs and now we are divorcing. I had to pack my things and move in with my aunt and now i am having to fight for placement of our 18 month old daughter. plus im trying to find a job and am still in college.. I really really deserve something nice for once..
Posted by: Amanda Goodwin | July 8, 2009 05:10 PM
I'm sure everyone in the above stories deserves the beauty pak. But I think I got you all beat. My son was recently taken to Juvenile Hall for doing something absolutely stupid and has been there for 3 weeks. I have never been without my boy since he was born 15 yrs ago and am extremely lonely for his company. Maybe a nice bubble bath with some of your fabulous products will make some of the stress go away. Keep in mind I also work full time and am a single mom who doesnt get much help from the ex, if you know what I mean. whatever you decide, I'm happy with. Good luck, everyone!!

I would love to win this and not only pamper myself but also share some of these with my fellow busy wives/mothers/working women like my mother and aunt!
Posted by: Kelli | July 8, 2009 06:06 PM
I am a teacher, writer and AR activist. Though I love my jobs, a little me time would be very appreciated.
Currently I am teaching banned books to socio-economically challenged gifted and talented 8th and 9th graders. Soon, I will be prepping 3 syllabi from scratch for the 2 different schools I teach at in the fall. I adore sharing my love of books (and PETA, a common source of discussion in all of my classes) with my students, but I could use a little TLC from the paper cuts, not to mention the stress!
In the midst of all this I am hosting family from out of town, traveling to see family out of the state, trying to lose weight with a new diet and excercise program (to which my vegetarianism is key) and writing 2 books. One is a creative non-fiction piece and the other is a childrens book (with an AR theme) that I am illustrating as well. At the end of the day, my tired tootsies could use a rubdown, preferably with some cruelty-free (as I insist that all of the products I use are) lotion!
Everyone: I hope that this contest reminds us to take care of ourselves (no matter if we win or not) and animals as well. Be kind to animals and to yourself!

I believe I deserve to win this because I am United States Marine that has been in Iraq since January. It would be awesome to come home and be able to pamper myself with the cruelty free lotions. It isn't easy staying vegan while out here, however I do it. My parents help by sending me lots of vegans snacks. It'll be many many more month before I get back to the states and will be able to use the products, but it would definitely be something to look forward to. Thank you

I need a little pampering, definetly! My husband and I are best friends with a brother and sister who's mother passed away on 7/4....we went to the wake and funeral this week, 2 hours away, with our 1 and 3 year olds in tow....my daughter tunred one the day of the wake! It has been a very sad, stressful time and I could use a good pick me up!
Posted by: Kara | July 9, 2009 08:49 AM
Yes I may be only 19, but there is alot to handle. School, a new job a pharmacy technician, and a crazy little sister.
Since I'm still fairly new at work I don't work too much, so I only get a couple hours. I can't pamper myself as much as i'd love to. this would be an awesome gift! and i'd really appreciate it! =]

I need pampering. My husband stresses me out. He keeps on buying body products for himself on sale even if they don't bear PETA's cruelty-free bunny logo.

I deserve some pampering because I am getting married in two months! I was supposed to be going to Vegas next week with my fiance to take a break from the stress of planning it but he tore his ACL and meniscus and needed immediate surgery (how inconsiderate of him huh?? ha). Trip was cancelled, I became his full-time maid and waitress and we're not even sure he'll be able to walk down the aisle! I feel that I deserve a small amt of pampering since I barely have any ME time lately!
Posted by: Meredith | July 9, 2009 11:06 AM
Simple: my son is getting married in two months, and I purposely bought a dress a size small. Now we're within two months of the wedding, and I am as fat as ever. Short of fasting for a month, I'm not quite sure how I'll pull this off! STRESS!!!!

I am a 40-year-old stay-at-home mom of a three-year-old, a two-year-old, and a one-year-old, and I don't drive. This means that on any day that qualifies as "bad" weather and I am unable to load up the kids in the triple stroller, I don't get to leave the house. If you live where I live, that means that I get to leave the house about three weeks out of the year (except for weekends when my husband is home and can drive us). It is either unbelievably hot and humid, or bone-achingly cold most of the year. We have no babysitter and so the only alone time that I have had in the past three years is when my MIL comes to visit. And my MIL is so awful that it negates any joy from the two hours or so of alone time that I get. So, yeah, I could use some pampering.

My mom really deserves this wonderful basket. She is just 68, but suffers from severe dementia/alzheimers. I am the one who bathes her, washes her hair, rubs cream into her skin and this basket looks just lovely. She would love the products I am sure.
I and my husband will be living with her for a month, starting in August as my dad is going to England for a respite visit; I'd love to use these products when dad is away to make her feel special!
Thanks

How about that I am guardian and caretaker to 2 rescue dogs, 1 foster dog, 4 rescue cats, plus 4 feral cats. I also volunteer with one of my rescue dogs as a pet therapy team with elderly people. I also send letters, e-mails and call officials on behalf of several animal charities, including PETA, as well as working full time and my husband doesn't do a thing to help!

I would love to win this because I would take it down to the local woman's shelter and give it to the women there.I believe that this would help them to realize that there are still some good people left in the world and that you can make a difference with people and animals. It would help give them some happiness I believe.

Peta, I sure could use a little bit of pampering. I passed a dog tied up to a fence in a locked boat yard, I stopped to see him as it was so hot. He had no food or water and I coundnt reack over the fence as I am only 5ft tall. I passed the next day and still empty bowls and he could not get up. There was no one around. I called control who met me at the site. I cried so hard as the dog just looked at me like thanks for your help. Control contacted the owner and begged him to put the starving dog out of his misey. I wrote a poem about him and think everynight when it storms that he is free now because I did my part. Now I also sign up for all free sites for free dog food, treats and toys. As I fill the bag I drop it off to animal control. So that I dont and wont see another animal suffer. If anyone would like to read the poem email me @ Babybl3734@aol.com

I am not sure I 'deserve' it more than any of the others who posted/will post, but I do know I'd like and appreciate the products. I am a busy mom, homeschool, and love animals -- looking for products that are not tested on animals is important to me, esp having several fur and feather babies in addition to the human variety ;), I cannot imagine seeing my little fur or feathered ones being tested on, the thought is just too much in itself so my heart goes out to those who suffer through the testing.

My husband had foot surgery 3 weeks ago and then he had back surgery 9 days ago, so I have had to be a nurse for quite a while now; and I will have to continue being nurse for at least another 2-3 months for his back. Plus, my mom-in-law is recovering from toe surgery, so I have been having to check on her and run errands for her. I am already exhausted but I have to remain strong and not show I am tired and keep up good spirits for both of them, because I don't want them to think they are a burden. Boy, do I need some spoiling with a great basket like this!! lol! Thank you for the contest!

I need a titanium disc put in my back to relieve my pain but can't afford the surgury so I suffer. I have 3 children and am in the process of moving. I have to drive back and forth from FL to NJ w/ my back and it will take days and I have to move all the stuff myself- w/ my husband to make ends meet. I have no idea how we'll do this but we will. I need a break, and surgury sooo bad!

I deserve to win because I work full-time, go to nursing school full time, and am always promoting veganism FULL TIME! I even got two fellow nursing students to turn vegan!=) They couldn't believe how much healthier they felt almost instantly!

Well, let's see... I really hate saying things like this because I hate self pity (and telling the public about my problems), but I developed an anxiety disorder as a form of post traumatic stress when my mom nearly died, and progression is very slow. My mom is literally the ONLY family member I have because the rest of my family are all deadbeats and don't want anything to do with me. I graduated from college in 2007 and have been living on a dirt poor budget because I have not been able to get ANY job at all. But I still do volunteer work, working with animals and children, in hopes maybe the places I volunteer at will hire me (LOL), and also because it's fun. Saying all of these things was sufficiently stressful as well, but I had to laugh when I saw this because it was too easy to think of things that have been bad in my life lately.

I would love to be pampered because I rarely get time to pamper myself. I am a homemaker and I look after an 8 year old and a 12 year old 60 hrs a week, I have two rescue dogs (a lab, and a peke) and rescue cat who was 13 when I got him and has lots of health issues and a rabbit. I also try to do everything from scratch as far as making and growing my own food and household cleaners. My animals are all on a 100 % gluten free and natural diet that I make at home with meats and natural products and I just find that I put 110 % in to everything I do for everyone else and -10% into myself. I would have it no other way, but a bit of pampering might be nice ;).
Posted by: Stephanie Pizor | July 10, 2009 11:42 PM
It's actually not me who deserves the pampering, it's my mom. She's currently undergoing chemo and radiation therapy for breast cancer and I know her spirits have been a little down lately, getting such a fun surprise in the mail would definitely brighten her day.

i believe i deserve to win the gift package because i just had my first baby (girl) april 26, 2009...we get to spend every minute together because i am a stay at home mom...my husband works 50+ hours a week so that we can raise our daughter without having to pay a babysitter or put her in daycare...maybe he deserves the prize, right??? anyway, i do all the cleaning, laundry, errand running, grocery shopping, regular shopping, and the cooking...all the while nursing our baby (breast is BEST!!!) needless to say: i stay pooped!!! but i LOVE my life...i LOVE being able to see my daughter every minute of the day...i LOVE knowing i'm going to get to see her first step, hear her first word, and be the main influence in her life...i wouldn't trade my life for anyone elses...i LOVE my little family...but like i said: I AM POOPED!!! it would be nice to pamper myself one night...i would LOVE knowing the products i would use are cruelty free...although, even if i didn't win the products i would use WOULD be cruelty free anyway...i would just LOVE it if they were free... *lol* ...thank you... :)

I taught for 35 years and had to retire a bit early because my husband took ill. He's been confined to bed for 3 years now. I am his primary caretaker. It breaks my heart to see him as his condition deteriorates daily. His personality and character hardly recognizable. I anguish daily, cooking for him, bathing him, cleaning up after him, without the ability to leave him for long periods of time. I know everyone has a story. I also know I could use a little break, and a lot of TLC.

I deserve to win because, I am a busy stay at home mom with 2 children under the age of 4 and a fulltime student. Well I feel bad saying that I "deserve" anything. I will say that my husband has had 19 surgeries due to a brutal car accident to which I was told he wouldn't survive. I've been his caretaker for the last three years through his rehabilitation. The past three weeks have been devastating because he developed an infection deep in his bone after his last surgery, had to have a picc line put in, and I've had to mix his medication in an IV bag and give it to him twice daily for two hours. Its quite a difficult task and extremely stressful because I'm always worried I'll do something wrong. I am only doing what anyone in love would do, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't incredibly stressed. I don't take any time for myself these days. That said, I honestly don't want to say I "deserve" it more than anyone else, we all have our problems and we deal with them with grace. My problems are nothing compared to those of my husband, and many others who are in pain. Thanks for the giveaway.

I think I need some pampering because we are a one income family of five and things are pretty skimpy around here. Jobs are very scare in Michigan. My hubby's job is really stressing him out (he's an aide in a state hospital and they don't care about their peon workers and don't treat them very nice and I stress out for him also. I could go on but that's about it all I will say. Thanks for listening.

My boyfriend & I definitely want a pampering session. We had entered a local contest to get married on during Pride this year - contest called "The Big Gay Wedding", but we never won. It was pretty disappointing. Anyhooch, we're working our butts off trying to scrounge together some money for a nice wedding. Would make a nice addition to the honey moon as well as take some of the stress out of affording and planning a wedding.

My husband is in the Air Force and at this time is deployed overseas. I have to keep everything going at home by myself. The kids, paying the bills, cutting the grass, fixing stuff when they break ect, sometimes it just gets to be too much. I could definatley use some pampering, even if it's only for a few minutes every week. This is a fantastic prize and I thank you for the chance to win.

I deserve some pampering because I have three kids, husband, dog and a household that I take care of. Two of the kids are teenage girls with all the drama that come with them and they are on summer vacation, my in laws came over yesterday and my husband just finished up a 12 day vacation so I pretty much had 4 kids home during the summer!

I deserve some pampering because I am in college and working a part-time job. It can be really stressful, especially when I am also Vice President of the Public Relations Club at school. I have gotten so stressed that my shoulders and neck now have problems and I get tension headaches all the time from stress. In addition, work just hired a bunch of new people and they are completely clueless. They are messing up the simplest things making my workload doubled. Being pampered would be great and maybe it would help relax my shoulders and neck to make the tension go away.

I think I deserve to win this because I have been out of a job since June 2007. Jobs are very scarce here in Michigan. I have not been able to pamper myself. I am getting married in September 2009 and have been so stressed out trying to figure how I am going to pay for this and pay for that, uggh.

I know that each and every single one of us is deservingin our own way...
Why would I like to win?
Lets see...
Here we go, I will try and keep is short and sweet...
I am a very proud Army Wife. My husband is currently in Afghanistan and will be there for a while. I am new to the whole deployment thing! We have a very beautiful baby boy that is just 5 months. My husband was able to be here for the birth and the few times he has been able to be here before being deployed may add up to less than a month that he has seen our baby. I would LOVE to win this, to just relax and "escape" from the stresses for a few minutes.
Also, not sure or not... but if the prize includes more than one bottle, I would Love to share with some of the other Army Wives in my husbands Company that are also dealing with this...
Thanks so very much for the contest!
Have a great day!

I deserve to be pampered by winning this contest..because of course no one pampers me. I work full time and am a 4.0 college student full time. After I go home, I play domestic godess and take care of the bills, the house, and the dogs who are kinda like my kids. I am busy busy busy and have next to zero alone time.

I could really use some papmpering, I am working hard trying to put my daughter through college and pay my bills. I have no medical insurance and I need to have surgery. It's very stressful since I can't afford the surgery or the time off work. This would really help soothe my frazzeled nerves

I am currently in the process of moving apartments (I am a broke college student, switching to a new apartment). It is pretty stressful trying to find everything! I thought I had done a good job labeling, but I am still trying to find things!

I need pampering because I work full-time and have been carrying a lot of the financial responsibility this year since my husband keeps getting laid off from his job due to lack of work. Also, my mother recently moved in. I have also been helping my friend out who has a newborn in the hospital because he was born premature at 1lb 11 oz. I have been helping to keep her animals fed and her mail collected and checking in on her house to make sure everything is ok. I am the office manager at my job so I have a tremendous amount of responsibility. I have planned and given 2 large parties this year (a wedding shower and a very large baby shower) and have one more to plan....my daughter's 16th birthday. I am tired people!!!! I need sometime and something for myself! Thanks for a great giveaway.
