Thanks for all of your wonderful comments on this Win It Wednesday. The winner of the shower radio is Corey Robben. Congratulations!

OK, I'll admit it: I sing in the shower. It's safer than dancing, and everyone knows that lathering up just isn't as much fun without a soundtrack.

Belting it out is much easier when you have accompaniment, so we're giving away one of these super-cute Bug Shower & Bath Radios for this week's "Win It" Wednesday. It's water-resistant, and more importantly (at least to your dog's sensitive ears), it will help you hit those high notes.

How do you win? What's your favorite animal-friendly band? Let us know in a comment below, and we'll pick the most rockin' answer to win the Bug Shower & Bath Radio. (Hint: You can find a bunch of PETA-friendly bands at peta2.com.)

The contest ends on June 17, 2009, and we'll choose the best comment as the winner on June 19, 2009. Be sure to read our privacy policy and terms and conditions, as you're agreeing to both by commenting. Check back every Wednesday for new prizes. Good luck!

Republic of Letters, a local band in San Diego (hopefully soon they'll be big stars!) All members are committed to a cruelty-free vegetarian lifestyle and that's about as sexy as you can get!

Posted by: Le | June 3, 2009 10:32 AM

The band that comes to mind is Good Charlotte. They stick in my mind for some reason. I heard somewhere the lead singer is vegetarian, perhaps that's why.

Posted by: Rev. Meg Schramm | June 3, 2009 10:52 AM

Sir Paul McCartney is my absolute favorite vegan musician. He is an advocate of animal welfare, which includes the exclusion of meat in his diet. He also is an environmentalist and wants to save the planet by stopping the use of pesticides and fertilizers. These destroy wildlife, water and birds.

Posted by: Barbara Wood | June 3, 2009 11:03 AM

Colbie Caillat!

Posted by: Allison | June 3, 2009 11:21 AM

Favorite animal friendly band.......that's easy! CATTLE DECAPITATION! Although I certainly can't scream and growl like Travis Ryan can, I still love them!

Posted by: Nicole | June 3, 2009 11:26 AM

Wow, what a cool contest! I would adore to have one of those :)

Well my vote for my fav animal friendly band (well, singer) is P!NK because she's just one awesome girl. No matter what she does, it's awesome! :D And she just is always being such an animal advocate by mentioning it at the perfect times ;)

If she doesn't count as a band, then it would have to be Cash Cash because.. Well I just like their music! :D

- Ciara <3

Those are so cute! I don't have a favorite animal-friendly band, I honestly can't stand pop, punk, music. I like classical. =)

Posted by: Aneliese | June 3, 2009 11:49 AM

Without a doubt it is RISE AGAINST! I listen to them everyday & yes even in the shower!

Posted by: Kristina | June 3, 2009 12:18 PM

My favorite animal friendly band is Rise Against. Not only do they make their songs culturally relevant lyrically, but their music videos display the horrors of animal cruelty and raise awareness. Also, with their latest CD you got a sticker that says "Meat is not Green" which I loved! I think they are taking a strong stand and have allowed people (including me) to make the message of animal cruelty a social message. Having such a popular band like that be animal-friendly reaches millions of young people. I love Rise Against! :)

Incubus

Posted by: Denisse P | June 3, 2009 12:24 PM

My Fav is Cat Power! Not only is she an amazing singer/songwriter, but her alias is my fav animal!!

She also speaks on spaying/neutering of animals. We all cant stress this enough "If you love them spay/neuter them!"

When I was studying to become a Vet Tech, I watched many spaying and neutering surgeries, the Doctor said it is becoming the most common procedure, and most important. Thank you Cat Power for Speaking up!!

Of course I would listen to Cat on my drive home :)

Posted by: Corey Robben | June 3, 2009 12:24 PM

My favorite is Band of Horses!
http://www.peta2.com/oUTTHERE/o-bandofhorses.asp

I'm going to see them in concert next week. Woohoo! So excited. :)

Posted by: Lily | June 3, 2009 12:26 PM

I love Big D and the Kids Table. I can definately get down with some East Coast music. My husband is the biggest fan of Rise Against and my son loves dancing to them as well.

Posted by: Keli Reagan | June 3, 2009 12:28 PM

I've been listening to Cat Power since the 90s and love Chan Marshall's voice and lyrical talent, so I was thrilled to find she was a pet friendly artist and to read her thoughts on "Cat Power Says Spay and Neuter." So I'll have to say Cat Power is my favorite pet friendly artist. And remember, “If you love them, spay and neuter them.”

Posted by: Inda Luciano | June 3, 2009 12:31 PM

AFI! Without a doubt! I usually don't follow bands on a personal level but when I heard a interview about the band members being vegan/vegetarian, it stuck with me. Not only do they make great music, they also love animals enough NOT to eat them :) Rock-N-Roll!!

Posted by: Jenifer Schapeler | June 3, 2009 12:33 PM

Shwayze.

Posted by: Laura | June 3, 2009 12:38 PM

I love Rise Againist. They're music is awesome (you can actually understand the lyrics!) but my favorite of all time is Audiance of One (you have to watch it with the music video). It sends such a powerful message. And the band is vegetarian which makes them that much more hot.

Posted by: Kate | June 3, 2009 12:43 PM

I often have bugs in my shower, I'd love to have one that can play music :-)

Posted by: Arie Beresteanu | June 3, 2009 12:52 PM

Linkin Park

Posted by: Helen Carlson | June 3, 2009 01:00 PM

Love Love LOVE Bright Eyes/Conor Oberst. Didn't even know they were "Peta-approved" until after I was crazy about them/him. Heard a couple songs from "I'm Wide Awake It's Morning" when I was picking up some vegan cheese at the local coop and asked the clerk who they were. Went out the next day and got the album and have been in LOVE ever since!

Posted by: Linda | June 3, 2009 01:01 PM

Silverchair is my favorite band, and Daniel Johns is without a doubt the most talented veg (or non-veg) songwriter out there at the moment. "Steam Will Rise" would seem like a good choice for showerbug radio.

Posted by: Brian | June 3, 2009 01:21 PM

Definitely Tegan and Sara!

They are huge supporters of cruelty-free treatment of animals and acting responsibly when it comes to choosing what you eat, and wear.

Not only are they amazingly talented artists and sisters, but they are also CANADIAN!!! This shows that not all people up north support the seal slaughter and many of us do cherish and value animal rights. xo

Posted by: Carolynn | June 3, 2009 01:43 PM

The Roots hip-hop band, all veg! Love them!

Posted by: Rene | June 3, 2009 01:45 PM

heheee...well i have here in my romania a band called Sistem, great, they just released their first eco video...wish i was the director :))...hope they'll help us cleaning junks in romania

Posted by: edith | June 3, 2009 01:45 PM

Earth Crisis has been at the forefront of the Animal Rights movement for over a decade. They preach it and walk the walk. Vegan, Straight Edge and Animal Rights Activists. Plus their music has consistently been some of the best hardcore especially All Out War, Firestorm and Destroy the Machines.

Posted by: Mike M | June 3, 2009 01:47 PM

Tegan and Sara without a doubt. They're very much aware of all the countless animal issues. They even came up with their own "veg shoes" Very awesome!!

Posted by: Christina | June 3, 2009 01:54 PM

The Pretenders--I love the music and I love that they are also loyal PETA supporters. Can't wait for the summer tour:)

Posted by: Katie | June 3, 2009 01:54 PM

my favourite animal-friendly musician (not a band, per se) is definitely Common. the hip-hop community is often overlooked as far as animal rights and vegetarianism/veganism by the sheer nature of the lifestyle that tends to be promoted. Common maintains a very intelligent persona on every aspect of humanity. he is able to maintain his "cred" without compromising his ideals.

Posted by: Reni Valentine | June 3, 2009 01:57 PM

radiohead hands down. thom is an outspoken vegan and they are the most innovative and remarkable bands out there.

Posted by: cybelle | June 3, 2009 01:58 PM

my favorite band has to be Cobra Starship, there new age sound is just so good.

Posted by: charlie mimran | June 3, 2009 02:05 PM

My favorite animal-friendly band would have to be AFI! Great music and great people! Davey Havok is a huge animal rights activist and even started his own clothing line called Zu Boutique. "I’ve begun making shirts … to remind you–to remind everyone–that it is, in fact, murder.” And the bassist, Hunter Burgan, agreed to be the Vegan Ambassador for MacBeth Shoes. Not only is every band member either vegan or vegetarian, but they put their celebrity image to good use by openly speaking about animal cruelty.

Posted by: Aurelie Martins | June 3, 2009 02:06 PM

Joan Jett!! I love her and shes been vegetarian for a long time!

Posted by: Jenn | June 3, 2009 02:26 PM

Fortunately many of my favorite musicians are animal-friendly, but my absolute favorite is Moby. He promotes veganism and kindness to animals in the essays in his CDs as well as on his daily blog; and who can forget his fitting "tribute" to KFC in his video for Disco Lies? Plus, he has a whole album entitled "Animal Rights" - sums it all up right there! Finally, his music is as kind to humans as he is to animals - all of his songs are like medicine for the mind and soul. I just have to throw on any of his CDs and I immediately feel good.

Posted by: Sonora | June 3, 2009 02:38 PM

What a cute prize!! My favourite is Sir Paul McCartney. I know he is a vegetarian, but I don't think he is a vegan (yet!). He has been vege for decades,& has raised his family in a cruetly free environment. His daughter Stella is definitely one of my favourite designers! His music has been around for many many decades & continues to touch people today. Who can forget his words

"If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be a vegetarian."

Posted by: Hannah Jarvis | June 3, 2009 02:40 PM

That would be "RISE AGAINST!" baby!. :D

I love their music video "Ready to fall" its definitely a wake up call. It exposed things that we should be alert about. Whether is how animals are raised or how are we as people are doing to this planet. It's something that we should take for consideration.

Posted by: Cindy | June 3, 2009 02:43 PM

Definitely Rob Zombie!
Anyone who has seen his movies would say that his artistic ideas are sick and demented, however he truly had a big heart and cares about our feathered friends.
I've always loved his music but now that I know that he is animal-friendly I want to listen to him that much more!

Posted by: Kimberly | June 3, 2009 03:00 PM

Hellogoodbye :)
their music is off the heezey, they are animal lovers, and the leading man, Forrest Kline is a Vegetarian! What could be better??

Posted by: Hailey | June 3, 2009 03:23 PM

P!nk. She totally rocks!

Posted by: Lyana Snow | June 3, 2009 03:41 PM

We are the angry and the desperate,
The hungry, and the cold,
We are the ones who kept quiet,
And always did what we were told...

Lyrics to Rise Against, MY favorite animal friendly band. Those lyrics make my feel such a connection with the band, and if animals in the slaughter houses could talk I think they would say those words. More bands should stand up for animal rights, because it's HOT <3

Posted by: Casie | June 3, 2009 03:44 PM

I'm going to have to say Goldfinger is my favorite. John Feldmann, a vegan activist, has gone long ways to support animal and human rights alike. Plus, they rock my face off!

Posted by: Chris | June 3, 2009 04:11 PM

NIN... Trent has even done a video against animal cruelty for peta.

Posted by: Dot | June 3, 2009 04:11 PM

Black flag - because they're totally punk and totally vegan! Once again showing you don't have to eat meat to rock!

MOBY!!! I don't need to say anything else, Moby's music speaks by itself!

(aww I want those bugs!!)

Posted by: Arlette Paredes | June 3, 2009 05:12 PM

Pink is by far the best!

Posted by: Amanda | June 3, 2009 05:20 PM

i would have to say hellogoodbye..because they have such catchy tunes and are always happy and are proud to show that they love animals just like me!!!!!! they give inspiration :)

Morrissey! Great animal rights activist who makes great music.

Posted by: Kelli | June 3, 2009 06:17 PM

OMG, what a fabulous question! How do you choose?! I just LOVE music! Any, and all. I mean, Rise Against speaks out the most, but they are not my favorite...I do love AFI though...Oh, I could never choose.

Posted by: Valerie Emery | June 3, 2009 06:38 PM

TEAGAN AND SARA... I LOVE THEM!! IT'S AMAZING THAT PEOPLE WITH TALENT USE THEIR FAME, MONEY AND POPULARITY FOR DOING GOOD THINGS FOR PRESERVING ANIMAL LIFE!!

THEY'RE AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE FOR EVERYONE!

Posted by: ARLETTE PAREDES | June 3, 2009 07:18 PM

Pink is my favorite rocker. She is a heroic woman with a heart that makes awesome music.

Posted by: Carmen Ortiz | June 3, 2009 07:31 PM

P!NK

Posted by: Chelsea | June 3, 2009 08:12 PM

Joan Jett is my favorite, all the way!

Posted by: Shera | June 3, 2009 08:14 PM

I would have to say "Cattle Decapitation". I applaud how they are strict Vegans and their lyric put human beings in the same horrible places and situations we put poor animals. If people had to endure the things we do to animals, all cruelty would end. I also like how they don't sugar coat their message but make it as blunt as possible. In today's society, trying to be nice about violence to animals is much less effective than making a firm stand about our feelings and morals about animals. Sides are being chosen and it's bands like Cattle Decapitation that make it an easy choice for me.... I side with the Vegans and all who have respect and love for all sentient beings!

Posted by: Dave | June 3, 2009 09:08 PM

my fav animal lover band (well singer) is P!NK she is awsome shes always looking for ways to help animals in need like getting all her dogs from dog shelters ... she is a fantastic role modle and a fantastic music artist!!!

Posted by: sarah | June 3, 2009 09:16 PM

If I said Paul............what would Chrissie think.

No Way! I'm not entering this contest.

Thanks for the chocolates though!

I've been depriving myself of all things chocolate..... well not all things. I've been hoping and holding back. Waiting for some chocolate. Finally the moment has arrived.

I have arranged a few scenarios in my head. Will I keep the tempting morsels to myself or will I share them with others?

I'm thinking grape juice. Yeah, grape juice and chocolate. Hey there's a name for a band "Grape Juice"

Happy Harvest!

Posted by: Saucy | June 5, 2009 01:34 PM

Mine would be Paul McCartney. Not only is he vegetarian, his dogs are, too!

Posted by: Stacy | June 5, 2009 04:38 PM

I LOVE the band "And Then There Were None". I don't see them on the PETA friendly band list, but they're definitely a candidate. I discovered the group in a vegan forum and according to their myspace page, they are 100% vegetarian and are known to "[set] up a table of Peta pamphlets and booklets, as well as stickers and promotional materials to inform fans." Not only do they make unique and fun music, they're animal rights activists too!

Posted by: Laurel Phillips | June 5, 2009 06:06 PM

Goldfinger....F*&%^ Ted Nugent!!!

Andy Dick Says, 'You Don't Have to Dissect Animals'
In high school I got a zero because I wouldn't stick a pin in the frog's brain to kill it. I let it go.

I studied the photo of the frog's insides and I was the only one in the class to ace the test. Proving once again you can learn without killing something.

My favorite is Linkin Park! Awesome Band!!! I love these little bug radios!! Thanks for the contest! :)

Posted by: Teresa L. | June 11, 2009 12:38 AM

I have always loved Paul McCartney, even his band was named after animals (sort of)! And he raised his daughter right, because Stella is an awesome cruelty-free designer and animal lover. He appeals to a wide audience and helps get the word out that vegetarians are cool people!

Posted by: Erin Register | June 11, 2009 11:02 AM

The Beatles.

Posted by: Jane Kriebel | June 11, 2009 02:07 PM

My dog Hannah, who I lost to illness four yrs. ago, also came from the shelter). Animal shelters are my favorite charity to help whenever I can.
