After learning that animals caught in glue traps die a slow, agonizing death by starvation—often after trying to gnaw off their own limbs in a vain attempt to free themselves—the ever-trendy, animal-friendly clothing chain has joined JPMorgan Chase in swearing off the use of glue traps in its stores.
Leave a comment below to congratulate American Eagle, then head on over to our Get Active page and let Lowe's know that it should follow AE's example and stop selling glue traps in its stores.

Plaudits, accolades, commendation and approbation for American Eagle for their bannining of heinously sadistic glue traps. St. Martin De Porres, a humane saint who loved mice and all God's creatures would be edified.

I had no doubt AE would see the light and take a compassionate step.
I hope they start using more "pleather", now and less leather...

I LOVE American Eagle! It really is my favorite clothing store, so I was saddened to hear that they were using glue traps...but I am ecstatic that they have stopped so quickly!

This is actually a real surprise to me, and i can rest easy in my few American Eagle garments, regardless of the fact that in shopping there, i was conforming to a society of unrelenting, mindless consumerism.

My job just put sticky glue traps in the stock rooms as we have mice or rats. I was really unhappy about this and called our store manager to ask if there was anything more humane that we could use. The exterminator out the glue traps there, and my store manager told me he'd check. I hope he does, but sadly enough sales and daily chores are more important to most people in retail. What do I do when I go in that stockroom and find a poor little mouse struggling. I can't deal w/the thought. If I bring baby oil to work and get it off the trap. Where do I set it free? I am lucky if I get a 15.min break. This situation sucks.
