Setting the Record Straight on Michael Vick

PETA withdrew our offer to do a TV spot with Michael Vick last December when a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) report on Vick's dogfighting activities revealed that he enjoyed placing “family pets” in the ring with fighting pit bulls and that he laughed as dogs ripped each other apart. PETA believes that this revelation, along with other factors in the report, fit the established profile for anti-social personality disorder (APD), so in January we called on NFL Commissioner Goodell to require that Vick undergo a brain scan and a full psychological evaluation before any decisions are made about the future of his football career.
What can I say? You can't believe everything you read.

Michael Vick is one of the most inhumane, virulent, pernicious and sociopathic figures to ever blight sports. I'd like to see him in a cage match with the humane and rugged Tito Ortiz.

I've been intensely critical of PeTA's hypocritical attention whoring in the past, so let me be the first to congratulate them for a principled stand. Mike Vick is a scumbag. An insanely talented one, but I guess that just makes the whole thing sadder.

How a person treats animals has nothing to do with how he treats other humans. Actually, the most down to earth people I have met were hunters and farmers. In PETA's mind they are vicious psychopaths, but in reality they are just normal people.
What would a brain scan prove? People love watching athletes beat each other to a pulp, do you want to scan them too? It's our nature to enjoy violence. I don't like dogfighting, but I do think it should be legalized so that it can be monitored properly to ensure the welfare of the dogs. It would put an end to backyard dogfighting.

This is a sick sick individual. Anyone who gets a
kick out of seeing a family pet get ripped apart by a fighting pit bull needs more than a brain scan. If he can no longer get his kicks out of fighting dogs, what's next?
This guy must be watched very closely in the future.

I really really dislike Vick. He is a complete waste of human space. I hope he never ever gets to play again. The end!

Thank God that this was a rumor, and PETA will NOT be joining forces for MV. I read that garbage yesterday, that MV was going to be the new PETA spokesperson, and it made me sick to my stomach. That POS should be shunned by society forever, a pariah for as long as he continues to oxygen.

mike dont owe peta or anyone else. he has served his time. there shouldnt be any other requirements. the bill of rights addresses excessive punishment.
Posted by: derrick | May 2, 2009 10:33 AM
I was horrified to hear that PETA ever considered engaging Michael Vick, reformed or not, as a spokesperson. This is such an affront, I feel your organization has lost any good sense of judgment. No more donations from me.
Posted by: dianne | May 2, 2009 12:20 PM
Do we think that pit bull fighting ringa re OK if "family Pets" are not included. Dog or animal fights of any sort are inhumane, and I am appauled that PETA would even consider giving Micheal Vick any attention what so ever.
Posted by: Trish West-Low | May 2, 2009 12:47 PM
I don't know about a brain scan--does that mean an MRI? I just underwent one late last year and as far as I can understand, the contraption is little more than a torture chamber. It was the worst 35 minutes I ever spent in my life. Even after what Vick has done, I would not suggest he undergo such a procedure. He has to live with infamy for the rest of his life, and that is punishment enough.
Posted by: Richard M. Boyden | May 2, 2009 03:22 PM
Dear Peta:
Please do NOT use Michael Vick as a spokesperson for PETA. He is NOT remorseful as he has tortured animals for over a decade. He even threw in his own family pets into dog fighting rings because he thought it was "funny". I have the USDA report if you want to see it. This piece of human excrement will DISGRACE PETA, and I will lose all respect for it. All this piece of human excrement wants is "quick respect" so he can play NFL again-and it will mean a DOG FIGHTER will be playing ball and become a role model for young people-as Vick is the very symbol of DOG FIGHTING--these kids will be using pit bulls not for pets but to be another Vick, i.e., dog fighter. The lure of quick money and fame. That's what these young people will be thinking. They will want to be just like Vick-the DOG FIGHTER. Please do not be a part of this. VICK WAS DOG FIGHTING FOR MANY YEARS AND EVEN WHEN HE GOT CAUGHT, HE STILL LIED AND DENIED IT. The man hasn't a single shred of
remorse other than getting caught and his friends ratting on him.
PLEASE do not help Vick become "respectable" because he isn't. It will do more harm than good, and if he plays ball again-you will have served to perpetuate dog fighting. THIS MAN HAS NO CONSCIENCE-HE JUST WANTS TO PLAY BALL AGAIN!! ONCE HE PLAYS AGAIN-ALL MENTION OF DOG FIGHTING WILL CEASE AND DESIST. And children will be wanting to become dog fighters to be like Michael Vick - who is the very ICON of dog fighting, playing pro ball. Ohh God, please don't help this man.
You all are also going to piss off a lot of your supporters - there is nothing but DISGUST and HATE for this piece of human excrement. Please do not shame PETA with his presence.
Posted by: Luke Thomas | May 2, 2009 03:22 PM
I am really happy and relieved to hear that PETA has come to its senses. To even consider having Vick as a spokesperson is inconceivable. It is obvious that this was just an attempt to repair his image so he can get back into the lucrative job of football.
It is incomprehensible that PETA could entertain such an idea. The man is despicable. The latest revelation about Vick enjoying putting family pets in a ring with fighting dogs is disgusting, but expected. What is unexpected is that the one organization who has done so much for animals would even consider this.
If Vick ever does become a spokesperson for PETA, I will cancel my membership and never donate another penny. I could never support PETA or Vick in good conscience in any way, shape or form. If you think having Vick as a spokesperson would have ever made a difference in getting people to stop dog fighting, you are so sadly mistaken. It would be Vick’s final way of thumbing his nose in the justice for what he has done.

I thought it was great that Michael Vick got what he deserved. It was about time that the media and the NFL took this dog abuse seriously. Frankly I hope he never returns to the NFL. In my opinion their are no second chances for animal abuse PERIOD.
I believe if he was really sorry he would donate some of his big earning to PETA and other animal rights groups.
Posted by: Veronica | May 2, 2009 05:21 PM
What the hell PETA. were u thinking of offering michael(satan) vick a spot on a commercial for animals. are you fricken crazy. Then you withdrew it. I cancel my membership to peta and I am calling everyone i know to do the same. You are as guilty as michael vick.
Posted by: dianne burnett | May 2, 2009 06:36 PM
Most animal lovers would agree that Mr. Vick is lacks empathy and gains pleasure from inflicting torture. However, PETA has no business suggesting medical treatments or tests, or providing mental or physical evaluations on anyone. PETA should stick to revealing what Vick did to his animals. That would be of value to readers of this site. But unless you somehow came across Mr. Vick's medical records showing he needs a brain scan, keep quiet on subjects you are not experts in.
Posted by: Joe G | May 2, 2009 07:06 PM
vick belong in jail, this coward made those poor pit fight to death and torture them yet this coward was in protective custody in jail. He need a heart scan as well, he has no heart or soul. HE is horrible person.
Posted by: roxanne | May 2, 2009 09:08 PM
Great! I hope there will be organized protests at any professional football game he EVER plays in!!
Posted by: Doug | May 3, 2009 12:09 AM
To even consider Michael Vick have any part of PETA is not only outrageous but an insult to animal lovers. What a sacrelige that would be. There isn't an animal advocate in this world who would believe a word he said. I can't imagine who thought this might be a good idea but whoever it is should not be allowed to associate themselves with PETA ever again. Let them go and keep Michael Vick company someplace where decent, moral animal lovers aren't. Absolutely outrageous. That's about absurd as letting Hitler babysit the children of a nice Jewish family. As far as I am concerned PETA would lose all credibility if this were to take place. Come to think about it as far as I am concerned they have already lost a lot by taking this under consideration.

This guy is a PUSSHEAD ! The idea of letting him out of prison makes me Sick !! If this A-hole is allowed to play a sport where the players are soooo overpaid that they can get away with attrosities like this ass did, then SHAME on all the fans who chear for them !
Posted by: Alan | May 3, 2009 03:40 AM
why would peta even want him in the first place. if he abused and watched dogs be abused by eachother why would peta want him? like tim gunn doing work with you. he does commercials for tide. and pamela anderson wearing uggs. im having a hard enough time sticking up for being a vegan and a peta member without trying to find reasons for your spokes people. why not natalie portman who is an educated vegan. please help!!!!
Posted by: jackie wing | May 3, 2009 07:25 AM
If laughs at this what will stop it from turning in to somthing worse such as, domistic violence. there are links between the two, i belive that he should of had a hevier sentence.
Posted by: katelyn | May 3, 2009 09:42 AM
maybe michael vick is truely remorseful maybe he does see the error in his ways,i am a vegan and i believe animals should have the same rights we have, i believe nature allotes them the same rights we have, but just like we forgive animals for some things that people cause them to do, i believe we should forgive people for some things that other influental people in there life cause them to do, prison is no joke, he served his time, and he deserves our support just like animals do, how do we expect him to turn things around if we do not give him the chance
Posted by: john weber | May 3, 2009 10:53 AM
I am glad that PETA keeps true to their beliefs!

Wow, he wasn't in jail for very long. Disgusting.
Posted by: Ellie | May 3, 2009 03:50 PM
PETA should undergo a full psychological evaluation in my opinion. Don't get me wrong; Vick did something very, very wrong, and he shouldn't be endorsing animal rights {for PETA or anyone else} at the moment. BUT PEOPLE DO CHANGE!
As a side note...what about your other advertisers who have gone against your "rules"? Do they all get treated the same way, asked to take a full psychological exam before even breathing the same air as an animal?
Posted by: Yume | May 3, 2009 09:24 PM
Not to worry. This piece of garbage will be back in prison before you know it.
He's a violent, career criminal with a serious drug habit. He won't be able to control himself. He will fail the drug tests and he'll be thrown back in prison.
Until that happens, yes, he should be monitored 24/7. He is a POS, sadistic, ignornant thug.
Posted by: Barbara | May 3, 2009 09:31 PM
I can not believe you considered Michael Vick....He would do anything and say anything to rehab his PR....He wants to be rich again...and when he is he'll revert to his old ways....what a piece of garbage.
Posted by: J.M. Ware | May 4, 2009 12:10 AM
Mike Vick served his time? Is that a joke? It's an insult to
all the poor animals he tortured and electrocuted for
money. That he would put his own pets in the 'ring' to tear
each other apart for 'kicks' proves he's an anti-social personality. They are known for torturing animals.
The very
idea that the NFL would take him back shows what an amoral
greedy organization of cretans
they are. It is sickening.

Geez, this site reminds me of the parable let he without sin

helping all of our hunger and abused children of the world.
Now, that's a cause. I don't think I've seen a site against murders of men like this one.

Posted by: Cooper | May 4, 2009 10:01 AM
"It's our nature to enjoy violence." Are you serious? I totally disagree with that. I think if you do like dogfighting and "enjoy" it, there IS something wrong with you. And in defense of the dogs, there's a difference between getting out on a football field because the player is WILLING to do it for money and people "enjoy" watching this sport. What is a dog supposed to do? Say "no"? Saying it's in our nature to enjoy violence is probably one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. You are ignorant.
Posted by: JustMe | May 4, 2009 10:38 AM
I can't believe that people can get so upset when this happens to dogs, but not care or do nothing when it happens to billions of chickens each year.
Posted by: jess | May 4, 2009 10:42 AM
Why on earth do people who are not fans of animals rights bother to post on this page? Legalize dog fighting? that the most retarded thing ive ever heard. Thats like saying lets legalize child porn so at least its monitered...doesnt benefit ANYONE
Posted by: lauren | May 4, 2009 11:06 AM
I've made this suggestion before but I do it again.
Take a lesson from those who bring John 3:16 signs to football games. Make a large banner featuring the graphics on the "Here's your 7, Michael Vick" tee shirt, and fly it for the cameras at his football games. To make sure to get camera attention, find some of those stunning beauties who are so good at those PETA demonstations to do it (I'm not being sarcastic, on my best day I don't look as good as the Lettuce Ladies). As soon as the cameras zero in on the bikini babes, unfurl the banner!!!
Come to think of it, maybe PETA should do this at every NFL game just in case Mr. Vick is watching, either at the game or on TV with his "friends."
Posted by: Rev. Meg Schramm | May 4, 2009 11:50 AM
Someone above said that PETA and all of its followers (myself included) believe that...(Posted by Ryan on May 2, 2009) "How a person treats animals has nothing to do with how he treats other humans. Actually, the most down to earth people I have met were hunters and farmers."..... It's is so sad that these ignorant people just don't get it. I am a vegetarian but I still see a difference between humanely hunting to survive, although I would rather not eat, and torturing dogs for entertainment. Vick is a pathetic excuse for a human being and belongs in a cage with a few pitbulls!!!!!!
Posted by: Diane | May 4, 2009 12:02 PM

Dear, peta I wanted to contact you to tell you facts about fish you are misenformed on. First off freshwater fish are not in any way intelegent. I'd know better than anyone because I fish all year round except winter. I've always usually fished three quarters of the year at least. So dont use the I dont know excuse. First off in all my years on the water never ever seen a social order. catfish eat other catfish, bass eat other bass. Bass even eat there helpless cousins the bluegill. Some days the bass will be in groups right along with bluegill, the next day the'll eat them. So much for shaoal mates. Even the babies of the same species try to slit each others throats fish even eat there young. What the hech social order is that. Not one ive ever heard of Its a fish eat fish world. Also when you fley them and throw there heads away, they're still breathing. How smart is that? Obviously not much. No hard feelings , just the real facts. Just because a fish brushes aginst another it isn't because it has a social order, it means it bumped into another fish. Not on purpouse for a social order. You use the littlest things and make the biggest statments about them. Also fish cant use tools. Just because it lays its eggs on leaves doesent mean its using tools. It takes minimal intelegence to do that. Now my little lovie fishes sure showed affection. They were mud minnows. You could see there expressions. But all the other fish were just blank looking and void of life. So maybe mud minnows, but nothing else. I hunt and fish and you people usually call me evil. But hunting is necessary to keep the numbers in check. If people didnt hunt the animals would overpopulate, eat the food faster then it could grow, and die a slow painful death. I will not though, hunt foxes, they posess much cunning and intelegence. I will not hunt any animal that posesses the ability to think like we people do. Also just to tell you how unbloodthirsty I am, yesterday i put a soft object under a birds nest in a tree, so if one of the chicks fell it would be safe. I love animals and nature, and you cant tell me i dont. Once again, Jacob Horn
Posted by: Jacob Houn | May 4, 2009 01:33 PM
Michael Vick is one of the most deplorable people on the planet. He shouldn't be classified as neither a human being nor an animal. More like an insignificant speck that needs to be wiped clean from the slate of humanity. To try and revamp his image now just shows he's out for a quick buck. Michael Vick, crawl back into the dark hole you dug yourself into. CREEP!
Posted by: Nicole | May 4, 2009 01:34 PM
Peta if m.v istoever be put in footballagain i swear on my life the sport will be dead to me .he is a vile and disalut person and should never be brought out of jail for what he has done. He should be kept away from all animals.
Posted by: Sylver | May 4, 2009 01:42 PM
AgentK, I love your comment. Seriously, why in the world would we ever legalize dog fighting? So the government could monitor it and it wouldn't be as bad? Okay, if we get to do that, then lets allow domestic violence to be legal so we can monitor that too.(don't go on any bs rants, I'm a victim of DV) That has to be the most idiotic reasoning behind such a cruel thing.
Michael Vick is a sick individual. We do not need a scan to prove that. He'll meet his maker one day and he'll officially get his real punishment. Until then, hopefully he will live a life of misery here on earth. He doesn't deserve anything better than that.
Posted by: Wendy | May 4, 2009 02:31 PM
okay so first of all in response to martha's comment. There is actually a very high correlation between how people treat animals and how they treat humana. Abusing and intentionally torturing animals is a warning sign of several severe psychological disorders. However, by no means do farmers and hunters fit into this profile. There is a vast difference between hunting out of neccesity or farming to provide food for people, and INTENTIONALLY causing an animal pain by either hurting them or putting them in situation which you know will lead to harming them just for the sake of watching them suffer. See the difference? With that said, while there is a correlation between hurting animals and a higher risk of later harming humans,it does not mean that EVERYONE who harms animals will also hurt a human. So while there is some validity in PETA implying that micheal vick might have APD, it also seems like PETA is just saving face due to the fact that they supported Vicks supposedly remourseful confession only to realize later that they were wrong. People don't change that easily, and Vick saying he felt bad about it only after he got caught was most likely to gain the publics support and is more so a clear indicator of how manipulative and full of crap people can be rather than them actually having a psycological disorder.
Posted by: Katelin Bradley | May 4, 2009 02:48 PM
Unfortunately the whole world is ruled by vicious psychopaths that have no compassion for neither humans nor animals. I have come to the conclusion that when you knock one down two more pop up in his place.
I pray daily for compassion to invade government and take over. PETA has done much to raise human consciousness, and I personally do not care how they do it, as long as it gets done.

I am reading all these posts right now, and are you people REALLY serious?! C'mon, get with the times, although I am NOT advocating it, DOG Fighting is a regular occurence in the South East & South West. Michael Vick was just a small piece to a much LARGER conglomerate. BUT, you guys wanna make him seem to be the worst.
I am telling ALL you guys now, that I will be on board to help his image all across the board, but I will not stand by, & have him to try to be a spokesperson for you guys, especially after you tried to throw him under the bus. Nobody talks about all the $$ he has invested to charities in his native VA.
Like I previously said, he did NOT KILL anybody, did NOT rape anybody, did NOT sell any drugs to anybody, is NOT a child molestor, & ISN'T involved with any terrorists. You guys are straight haters, so i don't expect to this comment or my previous comment posted.
Michael Vick ISN'T the worst person on the planet. He isn't the NFL player who was driving drunk who struck & killed a innocent person. He ISN'T OJ Simpson, who CLEARLY killed his ex-wife & her friend. He just fought dogs, which ironically were kept in tip top shape for the most part.
You guys have done enough in bashing him, he has learned his lesson.
Posted by: SportsPR | May 4, 2009 06:20 PM
The world is filled with sociopaths and that includes the governments. I pray daily for compassion to invade and take over. As for PETA's so called attention whoring, I personally do not care how they raise human consciousness of this fact, as long as they keep doing it. Michael Vick is only the tip of the iceberg.

I would first like to say that PETA, you really disgusted me with this article. Why would you ever think it is okay to have Michael Vick as a spokeperson for this organization? Secondly, I would like to ask, who at this organization is a clinical psychologist (with an actual Ph.D) or a psychiatrist?? None of you? Then leave the psychological analysis to us professionals. Thank you.

I am so happy to hear that Peta is not going to be involved in helping vick get his foot ball job back, because thats all it is to him. He is not remorseful or sorry, Peta should not be connected to him in any way,and I cant beleive someone compared boxing and other human sports to legalizing dog fighting you moron, humans choose to fight and it dosnt end with a death or the cruel behavior before and after the fight. They can stop at any time. What the hell is wrong with you???
Posted by: elna | May 4, 2009 10:33 PM
Yes he is a scum bag! But who better than him can say dog fighing is wrong? who better to catch the attention of people who like to fight dogs? some pople dont know their actions are worng untill they are told or they have made that mistake. What he did was so _ucked up but people can learn from his horrible actions.....
Posted by: Tracy | May 4, 2009 11:10 PM
I am disheartened that PETA would ever even consider joining forces with Vick for any reason. I am personally struggling with the decision on whether I should stop my donations to this organization or not. I will probably continue as I do not want the animals to suffer over a poor decision considered by PETA but I have unfortunately lost some respect for them. As to Vick - what he did to those helpless, precious animals is dispicable and beyond words. We may be able to forgive but we will NEVER forget the atrocities he performed. His jail term was a joke but at least I hope the NFL will never let him play in the game again.
Posted by: Lisa | May 4, 2009 11:43 PM
I would like to share something concerning Micheal Vick. I do not agree at all with him involving himself with dogfighting. I feel for the animals that were a part of this. But I want to address something that most of us overlook. If the spotlight was on us what imperfections would show up? I know that from to day to day I try to make the right decisions and sometimes I still come up short. I still have enter struggles that if I first judge myself I won't judge anyone else. Who am I to say who is remorseful and whose not. This human being has never been in trouble before. He got caught up into something that he allowed thru wrong influences to translate into a harmful addiction. How many of us are just a decision away from the same path? Think about that. I would rather be forgiven by God before I would need any validation of Man. So it's not up to me to be concern if Mike Vick is remorseful. His ultimate judge is God. God's love is unconditional and he's a God of restoration. He restores the contrite in heart. I pray that he has made peace with God and not Man. My goal is not to debate about this. My goal is to share the Love that God has for a person that changes their ways.
Respectfully

All dog fighters are cowardly scum, and Michael Vick is one and a dog killer.
I have a t-shirt I made that says that on one side, and "Michael Vick is a Di**" on the other.
Any questions?

I have a question for you Dave.
Are you selling copies of that shirt?
It would go well with my PETA trucker hat that has "Dogfighters are Cowardly Scum" printed on it.
I wear that hat almost everywhere. I have not worn it to church yet but now I might start...lots of football fans in our congregation, and they have been known to show the Superbowl game on the big screen in the church gym after services to get people to actually show up on Superbowl Sunday.

Jacob:
1) It's spelled ''intelligent''.
2) How does killing something make you an expert on brain function?
3) So intelligence is what gives us the right to life? Why aren't you out there killing new born babies and severely mentally retarded people then?
If you're going to post on an animal rights website, the least that you can do is educate yourself before making statements and looking like a fool.
To the pro MV people: He did kill. He killed sentient beings. Animals are not here for our entertainment. There is no difference between him forcing two dogs to fight and forcing two kids to fight. When one is this violent, it is clear that they suffer from extreme psychological issues and need treatment.
Posted by: patrick | May 5, 2009 01:14 PM
Too bad there's not a machine that we could hook people up to that verifies'"Real truthful remorse".
Because if Vick really was/is remorseful and sought to use the publicity surrounding his case to REALLY go after dog fighting the good would outweigh the bad.
Some people do bad things and then spend their entire lives trying to make amends for their actions.
Just look at AA and all the 12 step programs...
If the guy really IS remorseful the association with PETA could be a great thing.
If he's NOT really remorseful?
I agree -- he should take a long walk off a short pier -- wearing concrete boots

I have a pitbull & would never treat him the way Vick treated those poor dogs. I have said to my family & friends that if I ever came across him on the street I would spit in his face! You don't treat animals that way. People play sports that makes them bump/hit eachother BECAUSE THEY ARE PAID TO DO IT! They have a choice, animals don't...people make them do those things like fighting.

I was watching Show Biz tonight on Friday night and they reported that Michael Vick, former NFL player and abuser of pitbulls would be joining in the fight for animal rights for PETA. I am very distressed and concerned about this for PETA. I, being a member of PETA for some time, not only donate to PETA, but write many congressman, Senators, and many many other people of organizations on behalf of animal abuse. I do this on my own, not just for PETA, but for the animals. I truly deep in my soul love animals, but Michael Vick does not.
Michael Vick was put in prison for pit bull dog fighting back in 2007. I think he was there for 18 months. He will shortly be released from prison. Michael Vick says he wants to work with PETA. There is something you need to know about Michael Vick. When he went into prison in December of 2007, he said he was sorry to the judge for doing this to these dogs, but he wasn't sorry. He was just saying he was sorry, because he got caught. He actually was pleading with the judge so that he could go home and spend Christmas with his family. That's all he was thinking about - not the animals he destroyed. The things that Michael Vick did to those dogs were deplorable. Some were hanged, drowned, and beat to death among other things. Some people deserve a second chance, but NOT MICHAEL VICK!!!
I have for the past 18 months kept in contact with his judge, Judge Henry E. Hudson, Lewis F. Powell, Jr., U.S. Courthouse, 1000 E. Main St., Suite 305, Richmond, VA 23219-3525, to try to keep him in prison for his crimes so that he did not get out early. I have written Judge Hudson many times and he has kept him in prison. It would be a shame to let Michael Vick be a spokes person for PETA or even be associated with PETA just because he says he is sorry and has learned his lesson. HE HAS LEARNED NOTHING IN REGARD TO ANIMALS!!
I have worked long and tiresome hours on this case about Michael Vick. It would be a shame if PETA did not see Michael Vick for the kind of person he really is. He is not a changed man, but wants only to redeem his name in the NFL and also in other people's eyes as not a dog abuser. Michael Vick has not just suddenly had an epiphany and suddenly loves animals and wants to help PETA. When he was sent to prison, he lost everything, including his money, assets - EVERYTHING!!! I was glad about this as some of the money was put toward saving some of these pit bulls. Others had to be destroyed, because they were so beaten up and some of them were destroyed, because they could not be rehabilitated. Michael Vick just wants to obtain all of his wealth back as well as his reputation.
This is a disgusting man who has no feelings for animals at all. BELIEVE ME - he will just go back to abusing animals as that is all he knows. It is so morally wrong to let this jerk, just because he says he's sorry, join or have anything to do with PETA!!!!
Join in with me to stop Michael Vick from being associated with any animal organizations. Write HSUS, ASPCA - do whatever you have to to stop this man. Thank you.

I can't believe PETA was even thinking of doing an advertisement with SICK VICK.
If anything like that happens we will no longer support them financially.

Per Ghandi, "A nation can be judged on how it treats its animals"----Vick needs to be neutered and made to stand in public with a sign stating what he did to God's creatures for money and his own sick pleasures. Let the general public dose out the punishment he deserves. I have several dogs that would love to get a hold of him. He belongs in the sewer with the rest of his sick friends and spectators who participated. He is only remorseful because he got caught. Boo Hiss

i hope that the people who are so strongly against mike vick arent christians. no one that has written statement against him has lived a perfect life. what he did was wrong. hes paid his debt with his freedom and more money than many of us will ever see. heres some food for thought there are many sins written in the bible dog fighting wasnt mentioned but being a liar is, GOD wont have anything to do with a liar. to quote a passage all liars shall have thier part in the lake of fire. i challenge everyone to just take stoke on how many lies you have told this week. remember how you judge others is how GOD will judge you. by the way i am a minister who believes in forgiving and forgetting the way GOD does and has instructed everyone to do

Torturing living things for fun displays such sickness that I am disgusted by anyone who feels this human garbage has "served his time". This monster watched as stolen family pets were killed for sport? What next, will he and those worthless members of society like him start stealing our children to torture for their entertainment? It fascinates me that this waste of air is dubbed "talented" because he can throw a football - we would all be better off if violent criminals like him were all in cells for life.

I'm definetely not excusing what Vick did. He deserves everything he got for his crimes and trust me he has paid dearly.
He has paid his debt to society and yes he should be monitored and yes he should have the book thrown at him if he commits a crime again. But he deserves the right to make a living and provide for his family without the scrutiny of idiots asking for brain scans.

I am a dog owner and I am totally against dog fighting, but you Vick Haters are crazy!! I agree that the man should be punished for his crimes. Vick has served his time.....leave him alone and GET OVER IT!! I will say it again "the man has served his time for his crimes". Who are you people(PETA) to judge anyone. That decision lies with God.The money that PETA receives can be better spent by helping animals that really need help rather than trying to destroy a person who will be allowed to return to the NFL. I said it...he will eventually be allowed to return to the NFL,like it or not.

Now I have read all the opinions about the people on this website about Michael Vick.People need to stop making Michael Vick suffer for his crime. He has served 22 months, he was in jail for 20mos, 2 mos at home remaining. he served his time. let this issue go because michael vick plead guilty for the crime, so he was a man for telling the truth. i can see if he lie about his crime. michael did show some remorse for his crime by apoloizing to the public and to peta. But to peta, they want to still punish vick for his crime over and over again. Also peta want vick to get an psychological evalution too. now that is too much now. Peta, michael vick served his time. it is over now. grown up and move on. you see if michael vick was not african american, the law would gave him a slack on the wrist punishment but he is a celebrity and black, they want to make an example of him. i tell you politics is a dangerous game to play when someone life is on the line. now dogfighting started many years ago in the 1800s, when men like doctors, lawyers, and wealthy officials thought dogfighting as an sport and enetertainment for the people. now dogfighting is still going on in the world today. so we need to find an common ground in forgiving vick for his crimminal act. we have more problems in our country than embrassing, torturing, and bad mouthing vick. they talk about jesus christ, they did not believe he was son of god until he die on the cross. jesus forgave them. they talk about hip hop rapper, singers about they ways of entertainment, the actor tom cruise for scienticolgy. it sound like people judging other people without judging themselves. there is an old saying, "Before you judge someone else backyard, then you need to clean up your backyard before saying something than is not of yours". To vick read the JOB in the holy bible, it talk about job lost everything and how he faith restore everything back.

I think anyone who enjoys watching animals tear eachother apart needs a psych eval. That is truly a sick sport, and the fact that he got caught is the only reason he is 'remorseful'. He should be forced to shovel crap at a zoo as his career the rest of his days - and NEVER be allowed as a public sports figure again making millions.

Tiffany. Your ignorant. awww poor M. Vick. Spent 22 months in jail. Oh.. poor soul. He chose to fight dogs. He made millions in the NFL yet he chose to make money off a sick and discusting crime. ARe you kidding me? He feels remorse? No, he does not. His future is at stake.. that is why he apologized. He should have his ugly ass chewed off by the dogs that he made suffer and that are lucky to be alive. People like you are just as sick as he is.. I hope he rots in hell. Or get's his ass kicked on a side street until he dies.

When I read some of these comments - how one treats animals should be considered completely separate than how one treats humans, I am seriously ashamed to our race. Hello, humans are animals. How stupid are you? It's ok to force animals to fight each other - epsecially (this is my favorite) because other countries do. We should be strive to be more like third world countries with no education - yes let's deevolve as much as possible! You must have loved Sarah Palin. Get with the times one person wrote, yeah, take your own advice. The slow progress were making in free range farming and treating animals with dignity, will hopefully have future generations looking back on us now and being disgusted by what cruel savages we were. MV is, in my mind, a truly evil scumbag with no compassion for anything or anyone, human, dog, what have you. But that's just me, a human animal, speaking.

....Michael Vick does not deserve reinstatement....I hope PETA never has any dealings with him....Vick only wants the NFL and will do or say anything, taught by his attorney, for Roger Goodell......"Serving" the time is just that...Nothing more...There is no entitlement attached at the end......In the eyes of most, Vick crossed a line that people cannot stomach,.....they cannot accept the sum total of what Vick is.........Please write Roger Goodell and state, "No more Vick"....(Roger.Goodell2@nfl.net)

Peta I have respect for your views on dog fighting, however I doubt anyone who write to you are from the inner city or lived in the slum comparable to a third world country. M V is a product of the projects who has been to an area of life where he always fought going. He was arrogant, ignorant, stupid, but truly what do anyone expect out of hand feed jock given millions to only become a college drop out trying to get his ignorant family and "friends" to a better side of life. All that said I think some animal lovers some how lost the love of human life. Mike has a mother, two children to raise and a mountain of debt. For the many others who don't get any attention for the evil crime of dog fighting like "mv's friends" there's no blog or blood pouring rage it's just another day.

michael vick should not be allowed back in NFL. This is a position of respect. The majority of people do not hold for him.And none of the animals killed and tortured deserve this evil. I do not care if he lives in a shelter, but not a dog shelter. He isnt good enough for that.

Mr. Vick should be locked up FOREVER!
