If you've kept up with our campaigns, you're well aware of the horrors of the factory farms and slaughterhouses that supply chickens to greasy fast-food joints such as KFC and McDonald's. After learning about the cruelty that goes into making every "Happy Meal" (more like Unhappy Meal), some PETA members took to the streets to turn the tables on old Ronald.
Check out these photos, and then send a letter to McDonald's and let officials there know that you won't stand for any more McCruelty.

Great work Peta! I hope people learn good eating habits are taught when we are children. Thanks for all the hard work you do.. Maybe one day we will also learn that we should eat to live NOT live to eat..Best wishes.

@Lauren Thompson
No the corporation and its inability to not choose humane ways to kill animals deserves what they get when they die and have to deal with whatever the hell happens to us when we die.
Ronald McDonald is an advertising gimmick and while he may advertise evil dosen't deserve any hate. :(

McDonalds is a very cruel fast food chain I will never eat there again nor will I suggest anyone else does. Shame on them for being so cruel!

The Chickens should be killed in a more humane way instead of letting them suffer before death

Do you really think that the best way to get your message across to people is to simulate the murder of a clown while they are eating? Sure you might put a few off of their burger, but more than likely you have just made a lot of people angry, especially if they have children there.

Oh no! God forbid a few people are put off their salmonella, bovine spongiform encephalitis, artery clogging burgers! And as for making people angry, if these protests arouse any emotions, no matter what they might be, at least it gets people talking about the issue! It's time to stop living unconsciously and to start forcing people to wake up!

How long did the person dressed up as Ronald have to hang upside down?

Fast food is the most sickening thing known to man, I can't believe I used to eat it! YUCK! You are what you eat people, diabetes is incresing at an alarming rate amoung youg people, and fast food is a big reason..stop eating it!!!!

Well, I don't eat chicken from McDonalds anyway!

It's true. My friend works at Wayne Farms in Troy,Alabama and they hang the chickens upside down, going along a conveyor, and they cut the heads off the chickens as they go along.

ronald mcdonald always scared me as a child. its sad how they treat animals in factory farms, espcially since it isn't good for you in the least.

This demo certainly makes the point from the perspective of the chicken. It's about time too,but I still wish violence, or the portrayal thereof, were not necessary.

I think that PETA sent a strong but effective message to McDonalds and its customers by displaying the Ronald character upside down being slaughtered. Many corporations and businesses need to place ethical priorities in front of profits and it should be the governments duty to create strictor guidelines and severe penalties for companies that do not adhere to social standards on running there businesses. It saddens me to know of Mcdonalds cruelty to animals but im happy to see that PETA is exposing the franchise on there terrible misconduct.

Why single out these two corporations? They are all guilty--every meat-serving restaurant get its meat through the factory farming chain.
Being a vegetarian is not going to stop any of this. There isn't enough available grain to go around now.

I'm afraid Bluey's comment-
"Do you really think that the best way to get your message across to people is to simulate the murder of a clown while they are eating?..."
is absolutely true. As much as I think it's very important to educate and inform, I think it's vital to realize what results certain actions might achieve..

Good work! I like what we can learn from that type of protest...empathy. The idea of, what if we were the ones in place of the chickens?, because like us they can feel, too.

People should know where their food comes from! Good job PETA!

people put the thought of how animals are killed out of mind,a job well done peta

I gave up eating anything with a face 11 years ago now. I have never felt healtier. I wish people would realize that you don not have to serve up dead animals to enjoy a meal. They have feelings too.
Rest In Peace sweet little creatures.

i just want to say thank you to peta for having a voice for so many defensless animals out there!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: sabeli | April 3, 2009 01:59 PM
OK so this will be good for adults and all but children in the backseat of cars are just going to see a chicken holding a knife to a clown. That would probably scare me if i were a little one!

Results that "actions might achieve", Like breaking the DEVINE WILL OF GOD. What kind of results do you think that might bring?
And Aaron, the "THE ANGER OF MAN DOES NOT PROMOTE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD"
Good work PETA.
