Michael Jackson Leaves Animals Out of the Act

Too bad he still has a spotty past when it comes to compassion for animals. It had been widely reported that Jackson planned to ride an elephant on stage and use panthers, but subjecting animals to amplified noise, bright lights, and the fast pace of a massive concert production is cruel. Plus, his rap sheet from the not-too-distant past includes dumping his chimpanzee, Bubbles, with a Hollywood trainer. And many of the animals he left behind at Neverland Ranch ended up being sold at auction, despite repeated offers from PETA to help place them in sanctuaries. His orangutans were reportedly sold to a private owner in Connecticut, two of his alligators are languishing at the disgusting G.W. Exotic Animal Park, his giraffes in the care of a private owner in Arizona are on the verge of being evicted, and more.
Michael, it's bad, it's bad, and you know it.
We know that Michael's "Off the Wall," but his treatment of animals crosses the line to cruel and unacceptable. Hopefully, this new announcement is a sign that things are moving in a new direction. I mean, this is a man who holds the Guinness World Record for giving more to charities than any other entertainer, so you'd think he'd be generous with animals, too … but as much as I love singing "Dirty Diana" into my hairbrush, his cruelty toward animals leaves me less than "thrilled."

Ughh! I love the prince of pop! Why the cruelty? I know how you feel, being torn and whatnot... Lets hope he treats animals better! :) Go Michael!

Why is he back from Bahrain?
Did he violate Islamic law there in some way or did he just need money to pay his bills from his sexual molestation trials?

That is so very sad to hear this, i am totally disgusted by this non-compassionate behaviour. That's not good Micheal, even though you are a superstar, you should know better. Peace begins on the dinner plate. Go Veg.

I like many M.J.'s songs and I do admire his dancing, however I'll never agree on his using animals for his concert(s). No way.

Eh... the material presented here as factual is spurious in the extreme. Bubbles, the tigers and all of the other animals are safe in well respected wildlife refuges. MJ asked his Vet to find them the best possible homes available in the US when Neverland closed. I disagree with zoos of any kind, but it is wrong to present these so-called "facts" with absolutely no evidence whatsoever.
Where, for example, is the mention of the fact that MJ rescued Bubbles from a cancer research lab or Louie from a circus???

Have any of you ever actually took the time to read the lyrics to many of his songs? He obviously wouldn't purposely harm an animal or be cruel to any living creature. I'm sure if he knew the fate of the animals sold at auctions he would definitely do something to stop it. Just take a look at the lyrics to songs like Earth Song and Heal the World if you don't believe me. Some people...
