Newark Mayor Takes On the Colonel?

Well, that's what we think, which is why we've asked the mayor to ban the construction of new fast-food restaurants in Newark. Our reasoning goes like this: Studies show that people who live near fast-food restaurants have higher rates of strokes and obesity, and Newark residents have more than their fair share of both. Why not tackle both of those health issues—and beautify Newark at the same time—by banning golden arches and giant red-and-white striped buckets?
We think there's a chance that the mayor will go along with us on this one. Who knows—maybe Newark could become the next Akron, Ohio.

Wow, I didn't realize Mayor Booker was veg! Impressive, in addition to his other seemingly positive qualities. Hope this plan works, the less fast-food places the better...unless they are completely veg locations of course, which would be awesome :)

I like bean buritos from the Taco Bells and I look forward to eating them once again if the damned parent company would get KFC to humanely kill the chickens. :(
So personally no. Lets not ban fast food restaurants. Lets just let the bungholes who can't limit what they eat to their death.

I just posted a comment on another PETA story saying "Lots of celebs are vegan or vegetarian, but it would be great if there were politicians who embraced the veggie movement too!" Well, it looks like there's one who already has! Cool!
