That just breaks my heart. Parrots should be flying freely in the wild, not cramped in cages. Sadly, I have a pet parakeet, but we got her before we really realized how much more of a prison a cage is, rather than enjoyment. She will be our last, and I will make it a task of mine to spread the word that beautiful birds, from the parrot in the comic to my own little parakeet, that these birds just do not belong in a cage. It's so sad, especially since people don't think about the bird's feelings, they just think that its cool, and they assume the bird is happy if it chirps & trills. I am glad that i am more aware of these things so that i can prevent owning any pet (like a rodent, reptile or bird)that gets confinded into a cage.
