I am at work I & I just started to cry this is so sad & I am hurt,angry & disappointed that people can do this to these baby seals how heartless they are. I pray that God sees what these people are doing & does something about it. Lets pray for these poor seals... Everyone out there has to sign every petition they can find. Go to the Humane Society website, IFAW's, WWF, all of them, urge everyone you know to, boycott all things Canadian like previously stated! Russia quit this barbaric hunt, and Canada will to if we take action!! The seals need our help, we need to act my fellow caring Friends!!

I'm no longer a proud Newfoundlander, since learning about the horrific seal hunt here in NL. I am ashamed to say that I'm a Newfie, and these seal hunters are no better than those terrible people who torture and kill dogs, cats, and other animals for their fur, meat, or other reasons. It's sad that the people who purchase these finished fur products don't stop and realize that an animal had to die a brutal death, or they just don't care, or are they so darn ugly that the only way they can get a little attention is by wearing an animals pelt - maybe the idiots are looking to be petted. Humans are suppose to be the intelligent ones, but most of us are nothing more than greedy attention seekers looking to keep up with the Joan's or looking to be better than the next. It's sad that so many have deaden their conscious to what is morally right and humane. My heart goes out to the seals and all the innocent animals that are being brutally killed by what suppose to be our fellow man.

I always thought humans were the most evolved on earth and have the ability to distinguish their actions in a well thought manner. What Canada is doing to seals only goes to show humanity is nothing but evolution in its most selfish form. We're always concerned what happens to human life. Do these people who kill for sport or pleasure understand that the seal is also life, possibly a baby of another and also live relationships? Its disgusting that we humans presume that animals have no emotion because we're not evolved enough to understand their language. I have always admired Canada for how beautiful it is, but allowing the killings of such beautiful beings only makes one think where is the beauty? Isn't it because not what me make of our world, but what the world is that makes it beautiful?

Everyone here who is sad to hear of this horrendous ritual has the power to do something about it besides crying! Write letters, sign petitions, email to the Olympic Committee, the corporations who pays millions to sponsor the Olympics, and the Canadian gov't. We have all seen the power of one voice spread throughout the country during an democratic election, can you imagine what 100 or 1000 voices can generate!

We need to stop the annual seal hunts, the annual dolphin killings, and the whale huntings. Everyone can help, just raise your voice!

I highly recommend traking down Chuck Jones' animated adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's "The White Seal," which makes a compelling argument against killing seals for their fur by forcing the viewers to empathize with the title character.

This just gets WORSE AND WORSE EVERY F**KING YEAR!!! As much as I am aware that Canadians hate this as well it is extremely difficult to remember that at times. This is the last time this should be allowed to happen. It is time to WASH this STAIN from Canada's reputation...RIGHT F**KING NOW!! I should also say that when I see seal pups being beaten on the head and skinned alive I can't help but agree with Keith, but ONLY until it STOPS which will hopefully be SOON.

This is the worst thing I've seen in my ENTIRE life!! My older sister samantha is a supporter of PETA and now as am I. She first got me into it at the local Petsmart, where we adopted a couple of birds and dogs, the dogs were scared and would run from anyone who wanted to come into contact with them. The birds died within 4 months! We did EVERYTHING to take care of them! So I think this Seal Slaughter needs to STOP NOW! How would those men like it if we went to their house and did that to their families?!?

The majority of Canadians are against the seal hunt. Ben, seals have natural predators like sharks, orcas and polar bears that would normally have eaten those seals. But since those seals have been removed from the food chain, the predators have turned to the fish stocks. Killing seals WILL NOT protect the fish stocks.

Absolutely disgusting and barbaric! All for the sake of the "almighty dollar"...its such a shame to see senseless acts of cruelty exist in our world but then again, how cruel and barbaric have some humans become for greeds sake? How callous and uncaring have some humans become?
Maybe we should club these sub-humans to death and see how they like it, see what their families have to say...maybe they will scream out in pain and angst while we club their "babies" to death or skin them alive...I bet things will change awfully quick!

that video or any video of them hitting the babies like that sends chills all over my body. breaks my heart hearing their little cries and yet the people who do this seem only to be out for one the the almighty buck. i wonder if they live a good home life, you cannot possibly live with this on your conscience and then sleep at night knowing the horrible thisgs you have done to these animals. how do they explain to their children daddy has to go to work and club some baby seals. that is truly messed up!!!

Brutally torturing any animal to death or skinning them alive I'm positive is not supported by any religion, even in cases of eating for survival...there are much quicker and painless methods....this is obviously a sport of athiasts and terrorists. My grandfather was a fisherman, and he made a living without harming other animals that he may have had to compete with. If you can't acclamate to the area you live and survive, then move and find another industry to work in..unless of course your only skill is murder of innocent animals. Benny boy seal "hunting" is a FARCE!!! Why? Commercial seal "hunting" pays sweet f*ck all in real terms ($1200) per seal hunter so I'm not sure how that's screwing the fishing industry, oh and it's a seasonal activity don't forget that will you. My grandfather was also a fisherman and he agrees that the seal "hunt" is a disgrace - as do most of the human race. The only night I will be able to sleep properly is the day it is abolished. Hopefully that will be soon.
