Today, amid a flurry of tourists and cameras, PETA unveiled our new "Let Vegetarianism Grow on You" ad in Times Square. In the ad, the always witty Cloris Leachman wears a dress of red cabbage and leaf lettuce. The release follows last week's publication of the results of the biggest medical study ever to conclude that avoiding meat gives people a better chance of living longer. Who better to illustrate the point than Cloris, a vibrant 82-year-old vegetarian?

As if her performance on Dancing With the Stars wasn't proof enough that vegetarians age gracefully

For those of you who were unable to make the trip to the unveiling, no worries. We've got exclusive photos of the event as well as video of Cloris for ya.

Ms. Leachman looks better now than when she played Phyllis, Mary Tyler Moore's neighbor, in the 1970's!!

I think it's great stars like Cloris are letting people know how good they feel when they don't eat meat. I'm now meat free for 16 mos. and what a difference it makes. GO PETA!

Cloris looks great. I would never have guessed that she was 82 years old! I'm 23, I've been a vegetarian for 12 years (and for the past two years I've been abstaining from dairy too), and I am so happy to learn that good people use their publicity to help animals. Cloris looks great because she doesn't eat meat, I guess. Author Charles Patterson ('Eternal Treblinka') is also in his 70s, I think, and he looks much, much younger - not a wrinkle on his face - because he doesn't eat meat or dairy. But anyway, keep it up Cloris, and thank you for helping animals. I hope to look as good as you when I'm 82.

You will lead & empower many, many others to make the switch... for animals, for health, and for our planet. I'm a vegetarian now for 22 years, and so happy to be! Thanks Cloris!!

Cloris Leachman is FANTASTIC! What a wonderful woman, great personality. If you haven't watched her on DANCING WITH THE STARS - try and check out some of the episodes. As far as PETA goes - I love their message "Fur is Dead", but I don't like it when they cross over the line and throw paint on people's coats, etc.
Anyhow - GO CLORIS!!

Hey did you know going vege helps reduce global warming too! Cattle produce masses of methane which is a worse culprit in causing global warming than carbon dioxide. Thanks Cloris for being such a remarkable example to us all.
