The buzz surrounding the photos of Michael Phelps paying more attention to the bong water than to the pool water makes this an appropriate time to run our own pot billboard, don't you think?

Michael recently admitted that he was, in fact, smoking reefer and apologized—but doesn't everyone know that the hazards of ingesting pot roast are perhaps even more worrying?

So here's our little contribution to liven up the debate:

Potroast billboard

No one knows if marijuana is addictive (although some people swear it is), but eating meat sure seems to be. Witness all the grownups who can't even contemplate "giving up meat" even when they are fat, impotent, and at risk for a heart attack. And these are the same people who say that they love animals but go right on causing them immense suffering.

Maybe Michael will see our billboard and abandon the pot roast too—or at least speak up for those other cute swimmers … the sea kittens! I can see it now …

PETA you never cease to amaze me how you can keep up with, like, literally every news story and tie it into animal rights! i LOVE it, it's perfect. i adore Michael Phelps, too, but this really is funny you have to admit.

It's too bad Micheal Phelps is caught up in the foolish hysteria around cannabis. You can't OD on it like you can on alcohol. I agree with Ally. You should put it on a shirt. I'd buy one.

I agree with this so much! Thank you for telling me the best!

I am a registered nurse in Australia and today we had a diabetes lecture, and it costs the government millions of dollars a year!!! it is baffling but most of these obese people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes would rather the disease progress to the point in which they require injections, they go blind or their kidneys fail!!! STOP EATING MEAT AND ANIMAL PRODUCTS: LOSE WEIGHT: NO DIABETES, HEART DISEASE, JOINT AND BREATHING PROBLEMS!!! it's impossible to get through to these people... i read the book skinny bitch from cover to cover in a matter of hours and was an instant vegetarian, and i can say that i have lost weight and kept it off without even thinking about it. GO VEG so i can stop wingeing

Thankyou Peta for standing up for the animals. You get your voice heard, and that has to be good.

Its a shame .Most people feel that smoking pot is a much bigger crime than treating animals inhumanely...its sad how misplaced peoples' priorties are....

The word roast needs to be a little bigger. Loved it though...just didn't see it until I read the comments, then went back and looked and then saw it. I don't want people to miss it.

Good news from NYC and God Bless Chrissy Hynde. The Pretenders concert last Saturday at Roseland Ballroom rocked. I, of course, was there in full rock-n-roll regalia. I had my leopard print pants on, eyeliner, a little black top, scarf, and a, you wish you had it cotton jacket with flower embroidery. I even got to meet Chrissy Hynde, however briefly.

The good news is I met a very nice man at the concert who took me back stage. We were hangin at the bar drinking beer and Jack Daniels. Like I told the cab driver who brought me to the show, "I gonna party like it's 1979". YeeeeeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaaaaah.
We were engaged in a conversation about art. I guess I wasn't in top form; though I did try. I could sense that he didn't totally believe I was an artist.

He told me he was an artist also. I had no reason to doubt him. So I said to him, "Oh Yeah" my studio is closeby, come over afterwards". Off we went. He walked in the door and this doubting Thomas, became a believer in about two seconds. Canvas from floor board to ceiling. We talked into the we hours. I asked him if he knew Chrissy was a big time supporter of PEOPLE FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS. He didn't have much to say about the subject so I elaborated. It's all a little fuzzy but when I talked to him the next day he told me he was a changed man. He was shocked and stunned.

To make a long story, short. He took the veg pledge. Donated $100.00 and his darling twelve year old daughter is starting a veg club at her school. How good is that? Thank you Chrissy. Perfect timing.

Sorry about that very strange moment we had. I was trying to tell you that the city councel meeting to ban horse drawn carriages went well. You were looking at me going Whaaat, Whaaat. I realized the next day, after lamenting over it, you couldn't hear me and I couldn't speak up for all that yeeeeh haaaaws, and the whoooooooos. Perhaps, God Willing we'll meet another day in quieter circumstances.

And too all the doubting thomases out there;

Never underestimate the power of:

ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR!
