I understand why ladies dig this man but he better be a diehard vegetarian.

I LIKE WHAT I SEE!!! Oh and yes, a great message with the the picture!!!Tee-he-he!! Glad he bared it all for the cause. Much love to him for what he is doing to help the animals. He is a true blessing for them.

"Let us know what you hate most about fur."
That it smells when you don't wash it.

Nice to see him using his powers for good!

Hawt diggity dang! He can come my place for some spicy vegie food anytime! he he he! Good onya for standing up for bears!!

Any form of torture to innocent DEFENCELESS animals is completely and utterly disgusting. Fur farms anally electrocute minx to slaughter them and use their murdered bodies for purposeless, tacky, cruel looking accessories for those with no hearts. Fur farming or animal farming of any kind is the main thing that makes me despise the selfish, arrogant human race.

Apollo rocks!
Fur is cruel and inhumane. It is so not needed in today's world.
Posted by: Susan | February 26, 2009 12:43 PM
Fur is so frakked up. Fur in fashion is soooooo 20th century. Let's be enlightened as we move into a new century with heightened green sensibilities and responsibility. The animals share this world with us as well.

What I hate most about fur is that it is evil and that I witness it everyday in winter walking on the streets of New York. I hate that it makes me inconsolably sad and haunts me when I lie down to sleep. I hate that it provokes me to rage, and gets my heart pounding in my chest as I suppress my impulse to curse the offender. I hate that sometimes I don't suppress my impulse to curse the offender.
Mostly, I hate that it makes me hate.

stop the killing animals
Posted by: inci atalay | February 27, 2009 12:38 PM
Go Apollo. Save the Bears!
Posted by: Chris | February 27, 2009 12:51 PM
Fur is for the animals. Plain and simple! To think that people deem it okay to take innocent lives and destroy families for unnecessary luxuries is unconscionable. We, as humans, should have evolved much more than that by now.
Posted by: Deborah Rhea | February 27, 2009 01:10 PM
It's just so senseless when synthetic materials look exactly the same and don't involve killing. Even apart from ethics, it's just bad stewardship of the planet.
Posted by: Matthew | February 27, 2009 02:13 PM
What I hate about Fur?....
I hate that fur is worn for fashion purposes. It makes my skin crawl when I see fur rugs draped on walls and furniture, not to mention heads.....
Posted by: Michelle Berkvens | February 27, 2009 02:24 PM
Hot, hot, hot! Wow, what a way to get your point across. The slaughter of any animal or testting of needs to be stopped. I'd like to think that could happen in my life time. Thanks for doing your part.
Posted by: Antoinette | February 27, 2009 05:14 PM
Why I hate fur? I hate it on people but I love it when it's on a beautiful creature. Not on someone's back, head or accessory. It doesn't belong to you! Why do we have to kill an innocent animals for fashion?
Posted by: Min Kim | February 27, 2009 05:25 PM
faux fur fraking rocks!!!
Posted by: alicia | February 27, 2009 09:42 PM
Good for him, nice message by a hot guy, what can be better?
Posted by: julie | February 27, 2009 10:02 PM
They can make fake fur look real. So why kill an animal? You know? Its just common sense.
Posted by: Holly East | February 27, 2009 10:50 PM
thanks for steppin' up Jamie!
Posted by: deb | February 27, 2009 11:39 PM
I hate fur because it involved so much cruelty and people who wear it are either not aware or just ignore it. Fur belong on an animal...not on people.
Posted by: Daniele Cruickshank | February 28, 2009 12:16 AM
In this day and age there is absolutely no need to use fur for anything with a multitude of synthetic alternatives. Good on Jamie for sticking up for the bears (and any other animal) slaughtered needlessly for humans.
Posted by: Alex | February 28, 2009 12:33 AM
He has just gained my respect. Go him! :)
The thing I hate most about fur is that poor, innocent animals get tortured and killed for it..:(
Posted by: Veera | February 28, 2009 06:48 AM
I think it is great whenever people with celebrity status lend their voice to a cause they feel strongly about. I like it even more when I agree with em. Also, is there a disproportionate female representation here?
Posted by: Jamie | February 28, 2009 07:17 AM
What I hate the most about fur is the ignorance of the people who wear it. As long as someone else raises, kills, and skins the animals for them they think it is glamorous and fashionable to wear it. Well, those with a conscience know it isn't. I'd like to see all people who want to wear fur be forced to raise, kill, and skin the animals themselves and then tell me how glamorous and fashionable they are wearing the skins of dead animals. I'll bet that would make lots of people think twice about what fur really is and turn ignorance into enlightenment.

Je trouve que ce que Jamie Bamber et vraiment super!

HOTTIE! THANKS!
Posted by: Dustin | February 28, 2009 09:56 AM
Fur wont make you purrrr.
Posted by: Amy | February 28, 2009 10:52 AM
Fur was once a part of a living creature that felt emotions like love, sadness, happiness, and pain. That's why I hate dead fur on a person.
Posted by: Ed | February 28, 2009 11:38 AM
This is fraking awesome!
Posted by: Mike | February 28, 2009 01:14 PM
If you have to wear fur, the Faux stuff looks great and real. Go get it. Leave the bears alone.
I was one of the luckys to have met Jamie. Oh yeah! Getting a pic with him and arm wrapped around me......
Posted by: susan dickerson | February 28, 2009 01:34 PM
Yowzer!!! He is such a hottie!!! I hate fur because it serves as a status symbol at the expense of other animals.
Posted by: Jeff | February 28, 2009 03:58 PM
Now this is more like it.. lol what a hottie!
Posted by: Courtney | March 1, 2009 10:55 AM
Jamie Bamber has certainly come a long way. I loved him when he played Archy Kennedy...and now he's saving the universe and all the animals in it. Makes a girl very proud. And love him even more.
Posted by: Jennifer | March 1, 2009 05:00 PM
Just because we can doesn't mean we should! We are better than this.
Posted by: Raquel | March 5, 2009 08:51 PM
I've always hated fur unless it's on the animal! It was put there by Mother Nature and it's for them, not me!
Posted by: Denise Romesburg | March 5, 2009 09:09 PM
I was SOOOO excited to see this ad! I love Battlestar Galactica, and my love for it only increased with Tricia Helfer's ad! And, now there is ANOTHER BSG actor posing for Peta? It's great to know that they're doing their part in spreading animal rights awareness. Awesome!
Posted by: Krystle | March 5, 2009 09:20 PM
Fur is DEAD; enough said!
Posted by: Judith | March 5, 2009 09:33 PM
The thing I hate most about people wearing fur is that it looks so much better on a living animal than it will ever look dead on our shoulders.
We don't live in caves. Why should we dress like cavemen?
Thanks to Jamie for speaking out. He's a good actor, and apparently, a compassionate person as well. Good on ya, Jamie!
Posted by: David Young | March 5, 2009 09:38 PM
Save the bears!
Posted by: Don | March 5, 2009 10:24 PM
Way to go Jamie!!
With so many faux options on the market, I can't believe people are still torturing animals for a fashion statement!! It sickens me!
Posted by: Christine | March 5, 2009 10:28 PM
Save the bears!
Posted by: merri matalon | March 5, 2009 10:32 PM
I just think fur is completely unnecessary. I just don't understand the mentality of someone wanting dead animal hair on them.
Posted by: Lawrence Hamilton | March 5, 2009 11:18 PM
There are so many other materials to wear that are warmer than fur So why wear it?
Posted by: Mike | March 6, 2009 12:08 AM
It is absolutely despicable, in this day and age, with the technology available, that people still think they need to kill to dress! There are fakes out there that look and feel just like the real thing without having to kill an innocent animal and they're probably more cost effective too!
Posted by: Hazel B | March 6, 2009 01:49 AM
I can't look at a leather jacket or fur coat without feeling very sad that an animal was murdered for fashion. Thank you, Jamie and PETA for standing up for animals.
Posted by: J. M. Biesche | March 6, 2009 05:11 AM
I'm a big fan of BSG and so happy to see Jamie Bamber supporting PETA! I hope he influences others to join the cause.
Posted by: Laura | March 6, 2009 09:31 AM
Thanks to Jamie Bamber and PETA for working to put an end to this pointless and senseless killing. Go Faux!
Posted by: Tara O'Connor | March 6, 2009 10:55 AM
What a talented actor, what a terrific and quality show (Battlestar Galctica), and what a GREAT cause...thanks for being a voice for our wildlife!
Posted by: Eloy J. Hernandez | March 6, 2009 11:17 AM
Fur is cruel and so passé!
Posted by: Sébastien | March 6, 2009 11:39 AM
People walking around with the skins of other living, feeling creatures draped on themselves are similar to Ed Gein in how morbidly repulsive they are. It's a sickening practice.
Also, Battlestar Galactica kicks! One of the smartest and most well-written shows around.
Posted by: Alex Faber | March 6, 2009 12:40 PM
Fur and leather are cruel and inhumane, bottom line!!!
Posted by: heidi nemeth | March 6, 2009 02:10 PM
Yum...good for him. Bear-baiting is a sick practice. And that's insane that Canadians kill some bears just to make those Buckingham palace hats. Ridiculous
Posted by: Monica | March 6, 2009 02:35 PM
I love BSG, but never knew he had an accent. It just makes him that much sexier, and makes me want to save bears, that much more!
Posted by: Brenda Bryan | March 6, 2009 02:49 PM
Horrifying! I had no idea that's how the headgear was fashioned. Watching such a beautiful animal get killed and skinned like that reminded me of the beheading's; the lack of humanity and mercy, of those terrorists. These men who murder for skin only are also terrorists!
Posted by: Reina Avila | March 6, 2009 02:58 PM
No one needs real fur for warmth or beauty except the animals themselves. In this day and age, anything can be copied with synthetics and be beautiful and warm. Faux fur is the way to go!!!!
Posted by: Linda M. | March 6, 2009 03:44 PM
There are too many things to list as far as what I don't like about fur. It's easier to say what I like about it - I like it ONLY when it is on the animal that was born with it!
Posted by: Lori D. | March 6, 2009 07:13 PM
Fur on people? About as exceptable as animals wearing human skin over their coats!
Posted by: Debbie | March 6, 2009 09:32 PM
when people were fur it says i dont care an innocent animal died for me to look good.and i think to my self turn this around would u want to be hunted and skined
Posted by: elizabeth coley | March 6, 2009 10:23 PM
Thank you to Jamie for standing up for the bears! xxx

Love is the Answer
John 3:16
The thing I most hate about fur is the pain and terror the animals must endure for us to have fashion!:(
Posted by: LovecraftMan | March 7, 2009 01:03 PM
He's a hottie! I love what he's doing for the bears. I hope he's a vegetarian too.
Posted by: Mona Mehas | March 7, 2009 02:45 PM
Love the ad campaign...bear skin. Makes you think. People need to understand what they are doing. Killing an animal just to hang on the wall or use the fur is not acceptable. They have families and it is heartbreaking to see how they are treated and killed.
Posted by: Pam | March 8, 2009 12:21 AM
Wearing fur is vain, thoughtless, and inhumane. I am flabbergasted that individuals continue to buy fur and support the slaughter of animals simply because they are vain, uninformed and/or indifferent to the suffering of animals.
I have never and never will wear fur, and have a mouthful to say to those who persist in making these needless purchases that support a cruel and shameful industry.
I think it's commendable that an intelligent, talented, and well-informed celebrity like Jamie Bamber has stood up for this issue and brought further attention to a part of this awful industry that is uniquely, horribly Canadian. May it help to raise further awareness and generate heated discussion.
Posted by: Tara Day | March 8, 2009 07:02 PM
I work at a restaurant across from a fur store. Everyday women customers come in draped in needlessly expensive, and cumbersome, coats. They wear them to garner attention, to make themselves feel more attractive, more important. It's as if people are using the natural beauty of animals to foster beauty within themselves. Why can't we see, and enjoy, the beauty of fur on an animal as is? Why can't we find our own beauty within without hiding behind another animal's natural endowment? I hate fur because it is another way that people manufacture beauty when, in reality, if left alone is more beautiful than ever.

That's awesome that Jamie Bamber's pro-animal rights! He's awesome!
Posted by: M.C. | March 8, 2009 11:02 PM
yes, he's a hottie...and he knows what the worst thing about fur is too: killing innocent beings for the sake of vanity is unnecessary and SO unattactive!
Posted by: *jill | March 9, 2009 09:55 AM
I didn't think it was possible for me to think more highly of Jamie Bamber and here he goes for the ethical treatment of animals.
:)
I think that the idea of using an animal's fur is disrespectful and makes no sense to me. The synthetic materials are much cheaper to make and more sustainable. The treatment that the animals have to go through in order for the fur to be used is inhumane.

Yes, Apollo is VERY hot...& I'm gonna miss seeing him every Friday night...very sad! But, this thing with these bears being lured to their deaths for a stupid cap?!?! I can't believe this...so ridiculous. My respect for the British Monarchy just plummeted. I hope that these messages get to them, & they do something about it.
