Armani Gets Stoned

At the risk of incensing the GEICO caveman, we rounded up some "Neanderthals" to protest outside bunny butcher Giorgio Armani's Chicago boutique earlier this week. As you'll note in the photos below, they carried signs reading "Only Cavepeople Wear Fur," but I think even cavepeople would balk at supporting the disgusting rabbit fur industry, as Armani does. We've revved up our campaign against the cold-hearted designer after he broke his pledge to remain fur-free and started using rabbit fur trim on skirts, jackets, and even toddlers' snowsuits, of all things.
Our cavepeople got a warm reception in chilly Chicago. The staff of the Park Hyatt Hotel, which shares the same building as Armani's boutique, assured us that the hotel is fur-free.
If you're fed up with Armani's support of an industry that rips the skin off the backs of rabbits, use this form to tell Armani to drop fur now!

Apparently someone didn't pay attention to the Geico Caveman commercials and the short lived show Cavemen.
At the least the cruelest thing they wore was leather biker jackets in that one commercial.
Not cool PETA. :P Learn tolernace of cavemen.

i think that this is one of the best ways to protest fur; using neanderthals or "cavemen". it just makes fur-wearers feel more disgusted or guilty.

Cool protest!!

Wow, you got part of my logo . . . smiles, that's right on boys, that's something I'd like to do!!!
I've approached fur wearing women here and there, and have even seen a few wearing pony purses, here in California. There's a shop with a pony chair and brown beaver throw whom I depise, right here a few blocks from where I live.
And the beat goes on!!
You two ROCK ON!!
Luv & Hugs,
Suzanne

me.. I tend to look at people who still wear fur esp the whole article eg. jacket or coat and I immeidately think.. oh sooo dated!!! so 1970's!!! what's so 'fashionable' about that?? thing is the fur trade think they can get away with it now by applying fur trim on parker jackets etc.. I can see at a glance which is the real article or faux fur trim.. shameful shameful SHAMEFUL the people who buy and wear fur trim.. they're blatantly saying to everyone around them they're either one of two .. STILL in deep dark ages ignorant as in cave man or cave woman (inexcusable).. or just plain stone hearted and couldn't care less about suffering of animals - selfish as they are ..

This demo is brilliant! Absolutely love it!

I love this because I thought that fashion designers are sapposed to be current and up to date with their designes yet they keep designing outdated clothes dating back to the cave days. The fashion magazines today and designers are failing to stay current and keep up with the ever changing world we live in .People today don't want to slather themselves with harmful chemicals made with animal ingredients we see in make up such as Christian Dior or Estee Lauder . Nor do we wear smelly dead cow skins for shoes or bags. Todays modern woman wants cruelty free, organic products that are made with intresting man made materials. I was looking through Vouge magazine the other day. I have not looked at it in years. I couldn't believe how far behind the times they are. I predict magazines like vouge are going to be out of business in the next few years.

Basically, those how prefer fur, are those who DO not really know how the fur was obtained - how the animals being killed etc. Therefore, those who prefer fur, just an innocent idiot = fool.

Seriously, Giorgio, if you don't have a heart for the animals that have to suffer every moment of their short lives and die horrible, agonizing deaths for the sake of your designs, then, at the very least, don't you want to be a man of your word? Whatever happened to the idea of real men living up to their principles?

So true ! The other day I went to a protest in Toronto, and some man dressed in a business suit asked me "What does it matter if we wear fur ? The animals do not care". I told him, "Would you like your family to be cut up and worn by animals ?" He finally shut up and walked away xD

I went skiing today, and a woman was wearing coyote boots. (Uggh!. So, I took it upon myself to "accidentaly" spill hot chocolate all over them, and call her a nasty cavewoman. Of course, I was wearing a skii mask, and we ran before she got a chance to look up

Really Farren Rapp?
You spilled hot chocolate on somebodies coyote boots... not classy. Thats the one thing i cant stand about peta. I don't feel it's right to wear animal products, but I think it's disgusting to wreck strangers clothing... the coyote died to make those boots, and you just ruined them. thats like spitting on a soldiers grave if you oppose war. tacky. senseless. And if I was that lady, I would have caught up to you, or found out who you were, and sued the sh*t outta you.

Emily,
I would have done far more than that.
Posted by: Kurt K | February 17, 2009 01:24 PM
Thanks Farren! We need more people like you because I overheard some women talking in a department store the other day on how they don't want to buy fur again because the are afraid of getting paint on them. The woman you spilled on won't be buying fur anytime soon and I am sure her friends will hear about it and won't either. You probably saved a lot of animals that day. :)

Blagica Mitic,
I guess you are the judge, jury and executioner.
Do you find what you said to be a little hypocritical?
You condemn Armani (I don't agree with the fur trade, btw) for killing animals, but you would condone others killing him.
Do as you say and not as you do i guess.
