Victory! FDA Shuts Down Additional Animal Testing Request

Everyone knows how animals in laboratories suffer, so why would anyone knowingly choose to inflict pain on another creature for the sake of unreliable and cruel animal testing, especially when there are so many cruelty-free alternatives? CSPI tried to say that they needed to test on rats and mice because the rats they used before weren't good models for the substance's toxicity in humans. Hang on, what? That's right, they know that the tests on rats don't work, but they want to repeat the tests on rats and do even more tests on mice. Anyway, the FDA finally did something right and approved the substance without the additional animal tests. Score!
Unfortunately, there is still animal testing going on, and the CSPI is still pushing for more and longer animal tests. You can help by sending a polite letter to CSPI executive director Michael Jacobson asking him to focus CSPI's work on safe and effective non-animal testing methods.

I did send a request to Shakira for her to make a donation to your organization. I hope she reads my email. I always tell people about how great you are and the things you do. Always. Thank you!!

If they truly are the Center for Science in the Public Interest, then why don't know that testing on animals is bad science? Having problems with the data, are we?

Great news. Thank you, Peta.

It wasn't long ago that it was considered ethical to do this kind of testing on children and the mentally disabled. We now look back in shame. One day we will look back at this time in history and hang our heads down for ever having allowed this to continue so long. We are making progress but we have a long way to go. Peace and justice for all beings!

Well done PETA

As the many recalls on supposedly safe, animal-tested drugs have proven, tests on animals can't be reliably extrapolated to humans. Seems like CSPI is in bed with the vivisection industry.
Good work, PETA!

Mike, I soooo agree!!! Well with all of your brilliant posts I might add!! This is why my donations go directly through Peta for this purpose to hopefully one day shut down the vivisection industry FOR GOOD!!! There's nothing more disturbing to me that these so called professionals would be allowed to continue these crimes and be able to call it science... hideous!!!

This is great news! Rats & mice shouldn't have to suffer for humans. We must push to stop all animal tests. Thanks, Peta, for speaking up for these wonderful animals!!

Why can't people understand that mice are not little people? What works for a mouse might not work for a person. What blows my mind is when I stop to think about how many cures for cancer have been stopped in their tracks because they didn't work on a mouse. They might bave worked on people! They say we're anti-science, but it doesn't get more anti-science than that!

I thought of this great idea a long time ago. How about using criminals on death row to use for product testing. Why not let their punishment be the cruel ways that they test on animals.....
I think it's a great idea. Those poor little living animal beings did not do anything wrong to anyone, all they want to do is love you and they do NOT deserve that horrific treatment. They deserve to be cherished at all times every last one of them.

Please inform me what these alternatives are. You never mention them once, but I think you just forgot to do it. A lot of people benefitted from this, so I'm interested in hearing the ways that we can test WITHOUT animals.
