McDonald's: Three Strikes and ...?

Then, while Sir Paul was urging everyone to avoid McDonald's all-flesh patties, Venezuela simply removed the option altogether. That's right—according to news reports, the nation shut down all 115 McDonald's branches for a full 48 hours as punishment for "alleged tax irregularities." Must've been pretty irregular (no jokes about what eating the McD diet will do to you, please)!
But then on Wednesday—and I almost can't believe this—a TMZ reporter went into an L.A. McDonald's and ordered a Happy Meal (why, oh why?)—and when she got her order, the box advertised an electronic "Michael Vick football" game. Nothing says "great for kids" quite like that, right?
As for the McDonald's folks, it was a big "whoops" from them—the Happy Meal box was from 2004, and, McDonald's says, "does not reflect any current partnership with Michael Vick."
But, as PETA Vice President Bruce Friedrich says, "Given that McDonald's lets its suppliers cram animals into metal cages and crates and boil chickens alive, it's sad, but it doesn't shock us. At this point, even Michael Vick himself would probably prefer this particular Happy Meal to be a happy memory."
So, too bad, so sad for McDonald's and the issues it's facing this week—although, considering what it does to animals, I'm not convinced that it deserves a break today.

Why can't they do a McVeggie fast food place? Why can't they think about doing something for people who don't want to eat an animal and know of the torture and abuse that goes along with it. Maybe one day. Hey PETA, ask them to do a McVeggie Resturant!!!!!

How disrespectful from MCDonald to use photos of a famous rock star who's been talking about animal cruelty in the meat industry and promotting vegetarianism for so many years. Sir Paul must feel so betrayed about that. This shows once more that this huge corporation doesn't care about anything else than making more bucks. They don't care about animal rights or their supporters period.
Boycott McDonald"s do it for the animals,and for your own health.

I haven't step foot into a McDonald's in a very long time, so it looks like a made the right choice; no surprise. However, I did read the part about boiling chickens alive in crates; who is doing this....new to the circuit.....heads up? Why aren't we doing more there?

Wow...interesting to know! We will not be supporting McDonald's with our hard-earned food dollars any more!

If people let government decide what foods they eat
and what medicines they take,
their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls
of those who live under tyranny...
~~~Factory Farmed animals are a PRIME example~~~
The SOUL is the same in ALL living creatures
although the body of EACH is different.
Non-violence leads to the HIGHEST ethics
which IS the goal of ALL evolution.
Until we stop harming ALL OTHER living beings
we are STILL savages
and as long as there are slaughterhouses
there WILL BE battlefields.
God Bless The Beasts!
As a 5 plus year vegetarian I have tried, on several occasions, to send an email to McDonalds to suggest a veggie burger option. Every single time the response was "we do not take menu suggestions from the general public". Who the heck do they think their customers are?
I say go to Burger King. At least they offer a veggie burger and most Subway shops carry a veggie patty. If you go to most Subways and ask about it thay will start stocking the veggie patty. Here is a suggestion for it. They will ned to microvave it before putting it in the toaster oven. They are very dense and need the extra time for heating up but are VERY tasty. McDonalds response as far as a health issue was to order a salad with "chicken". Is chicken a vegetable? I don't think so.
I guess the people that work at McDonalds suffer from the Denny Crane disease. (Mad Cow)
I SAY boycott ALL fast foods as THEY are the ones stealing your taxes and taking your freedoms away!!
To Stan:
They are NOT concerned for the consumer, HOW can you even THINK that with the filthy, dirty SLOP they feed you! They answer to a HIGHER power, the meat industry which consists of the TOP Wall Street bankers taking all this country's money, do your research NOT via fed controlled TV either...
This is TRULY scary, there are WAY TOO MANY sheaple out there entranced believing the system via continuous EVIL brainwashing and mind control! The BEST antidote for THAT my friend is to turn OFF the tube! TV is a TOOL used to KEEP the masses complacent, it's POISON!!
WAKE UP SHEOPLE!!!!
Meat eaters are INCAPABLE of the conception we Vegans are VERY sensitive when it comes to animal suffering because they either have no self discipline, or just don't give a damn which the majority of the latter just don't give a damn, they have this fabled ideology they are superior over the animals whether they suffer or not for their consumption, satisfaction, fashion and entertainment, which usually are the ones who hold no conscience but they SURE do NOT want to view any PETA videos, do they? For STAN - I think it's great that you e-mail McDonalds. GREAT WORK AND THANK YOU! I think I will try that and see what happens. I have e-mailed others ( like P&G) and they just advoid that questions. But maybe if McDonald's gets hammered with tons of e-mail from us they well have to put a McVeggie Burger on the menu.
there r mcds that offer veggie burgers. in fact it is delicious. i had them yrs ago in london n switzerland's mcds. so more like the states' mcds doesn't bother to offer them. probably becos it wont help ur bottomline much even if they offer veggie burgers. so go other places to eat, they r not the only place that sell food! or better still, stock up veggie patties at home n make ur own burger, it jus takes 20mins for oven, which is less than the time u drive out n order at drive thru n drive back.
after reading this, i won't eat anymore on McDonals or whatever is spelled like
i like mcdonalds. i would love it if they treated their animals better before serving. i dont think a boycott is necessary...most people like meat and this isnt gonna do anything but piss off omnivores. but i admire PETA for taking a stand!
