As I'm sure you are already aware, today is World Farm Animals Day! It's a good time for all of us to remember the pain that many farmed animals go through every day for human consumption, but it's also a good time to remember the joy that animals bring to our lives. In light of this holiday, we are hosting Kentucky Fried Cruelty demonstrations all over the country to encourage people to think about how their meal choices affect the environment—and the pain that meat-based diets inflict on farmed animals.
We're hoping that the demos today will really make people think, but it's not the first time we've donned chicken suits and sat in scalding tanks to make the public aware that KFC tortures birds and that chickens are intelligent, wonderful animals who feel pain and fear for their lives just like dogs and cats.
Please check out our slideshow of KFC demos from around the world and leave a comment to tell us which is your favorite picture! If you haven't yet, please order a copy of our "Vegetarian Starter Kit." World Farm Animals Day is the best time to take that first step!

They are all FAN-tastic but I must say visual always works best!! When people see a picture of an actual baby chick getting her beak cut off, they will understand better what we are trying to say without saying a word!! I still will not step foot in a KFC joint, veggie burger or no veggie burger!! Go VEG, everyone!!

Nitpicking perhaps, but I hate the expression "farm animal." They are all animals first, and as Christine pointed out, they happen to be farmed. Calling them farm animals makes the assumption that that's what they were born to be, and all they can be. If we want people to start regarding them as feeling, sentient beings (and not production units), we have to perceive them first and foremost as animals, some of whom have had the sad fate to end up on a farm.

I LOVE THE ONE WITH THE 3 CHICKEN MASCOTS HOLDING THE SIGNS "BROKENWINGS","K.F.C. TORTURES","SCALDED ALIVE". BUT EVER PICTURE ON THE SLIDE SHOW WAS GREAT! LOVED SEEING ALL OF THEM!

you konw the funny feeling I get is that people should be stationed outside KFC (and yes there are a heck of a lot of them only in US but elsewhere in the world.. ) and profer leaflets to any unsuspecting customer making his or her way to buy their 'chicken bucket'.. afterall.. they are the ones who should be 'enlightened' should be say? a few graphic pictures of lame chickens lying on their sides in their own 'deposits' .. too grossly overgrown to struggle on any more.. burned legs cuased by the ever omni present ammonia everywhere on the ground.. it will literally give them 'food for thought!

i agee with Mike Quinoa that animals are not production units, that is an evil inheritance from the not so distant agricultural past. But all the same Happy World Farm Animals Day.

I think that Happy World Farm Animals Day is a great thing. I love animals and after reading SO much about animal abuse i learned that alot of circuses abuse their animals. And now i learned KFC does too. Its sick. What people do to their animals. It's one thing to abuse them, but to cram them into cages, to drug them, and make them breed makes me want to barf. I guess KFC's logo is right NO ONE DOES CHICKEN, LIKE KFC.
