So as you know, Giorgio Armani has been on PETA's bad list lately. Promising to go fur-free and then reneging on the idea altogether in order to make rabbit-fur outfits for babies really just isn't something we appreciate (I think the animals would agree …).
Hearing this loud and clear, A-list actress and compassionate PETA friend Gillian Anderson really came through to lend her support to this issue. Her voice can now be heard narrating a shocking, moving investigation video that takes you into the depths of rabbit fur farming.
The video was unveiled earlier today at a news conference outside Armani's Michigan Avenue store in Chicago. I strongly encourage you to watch this video and pledge to be fur-free. Gillian, PETA, and all the rabbits of the world will thank you for it.

This is so awful! Last Sunday on October 5th ARAN organized the largest animal rights rally in Ireland ever 700 people and we highlighted the fur trade. We're not going to set out sights on Georgio Armani. Thank you PETA for helping animals.

Wow, this really shows how sick the fur industries are. Seriously now how do people not understand that even if rabbits don't have the same intellect as people... THEY CAN STILL FEEL THEIR SKIN BEING PEELED OFF OF THEM JUST AS HUMANS COULD. And when it is put that way, these humans obviously have no intellect in the first place. How does the government at a federal level not even recognize this type of slaughter as torture and inhumane?... REALLY? I mean being shocked, hung upside down, and having my throat slit and skin peeled off is personally the exact way I would want to die, you know with just one last struggle of pain and agony. But honestly, this is the sort of thing that pushes our world to be even less peaceful in the big picture.. killing innocent animals for no apparent reason other than for "high-class" people who have the desire to walk around looking like snobby b****** in their totally awesome fur coats. Enough said.

just seeing an animal trapped inside a small cage.. day after day after day.. is enough to upset me.. let alone 6-8 months later their horrible 'eventuality' .. the fur trade really is the worst.. but then again so is vivisection and factory farming.. can't understand why all these fur designers willingly and nonchantly continue to incorporate so much furs into their frivolous fashion designs knowing fully WELL THEY are supporting and causing this horrendous cruetly to so many thousands if not millions of these incomprehending and innocent animals to go on and on.... :`(

I own three wonderful companion rabbits. I can't watch the video (especially as I'm sure the sound would terrify the bunnies) but I've emailed Armani and am encouraging others to do the same. The cruelty horrifies me. I can't imagine anyone harming these sweet, personable creatures that are currently eating hay and throwing their toys around.

Fur is beautiful...on the animal it was attended for that is on a human its just plain out gross! I wonder how people who do such deeds sleep at night? Do they have no compassion at all? All life is precious that why I am a vegan & a pro-life supporter. Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication! Where would the world be with out such noble souls? Thanks again Peta keep fighting a good fight.

This is really sick.
I hope PETA will be able to stop this - maybe now people will be able to see how their fur coat was made and think twice about wearing it.
GROSS!

OMG! I love rabbits and very shocked to see the video. It's very sadistic action!
Pls (everyone) stop buying Armani or any brand using animal fur and PETA, thanks a lot for the video - I'll share with my friends.

I don't know if I can watch this video. I can already hear the screams in my head from the poor little bunnies. How can anyone do this to an animal. Just looking at the picture of the hanging bunny having his/her skinned pulled off is breaking my heart!

I just watched the video (with the sound off)I am sicken beyond belief. ARMANI HAS NO CLASS AND IS A BUNNY KILLER.

this is awful.. a documentary i recently watched gives more info on this and other matters having to do with the inhuman treatment of animals. titled "earthlings" 2003 documentary, narrated by joaquin phoenix. (sorry if im infringing on any copy write laws, but apparently no one else is advertising it and i believe it should be.)

I just dont get it, why do people use fur!. It is so cruel and just plain stupid. I hope peta will expose more of this sort of cruelty and put pressure to the countries as well the designers who insist on using this kind of materials. Be human and humane, love animals and you prosper your soul.

A couple of days ago I watched RSPCA Animal Rescue programme on the television, and was very impressed with the time and effort spent on saving three sheep. Contrast this with the report in the Courier Mail 7th October which states that 37,000 sheep died on export ships last year, and that only 1sq meter of space is allocated for ever three sheep. These sea voyages can take up to 35 days. This must constitute one of the worse cases of cruelty ever. I would like to suggest publication of the names of the main sheep producing farmers. Perhaps the shame to them and their families may bring a change of heart.

I got one thing to say "Hope all those that are associated with this action go straight to HELL".

This should be mandatory viewing for anyone contemplating using products made from rabbit fur. Thank you Gillian!

Big thaansk to PETA and Gillian Anderson for releasing this campaign. The video is almost unwatchable but we need to open our eyes and take a stand! NO MORE!

PETA, please expose Armani's cruelty to the world. It is so important for people to understand what Armani will do to make a buck! It is equally important for everyone to know that animals are literally tortured for people to wear their fur.
This is absolutley dispicable.

I see nothing wrong with this. Those animals where killed or unconcious before being slaughtered. The reason people "bleed" the animals out like that is so the meat tastes better. All those rabbits where going for food. They where not being wasted. I have raised rabbits, for meat, fur, show and pets for 15 years. I have done every thing you wittnesed in this video. It is legel and a widly used practice of killing rabbits in the USA.

Get some talant Armani, ripping of nature is not fashion it's fraud. Do you not have enough money or has greed just gone straight to your head I know you were always wierd and your designs crap, thank god for that I'd hate to think I ever bought anything you used your carons to disign. You are nothing more than aparasite feeding of others because you have no talent of your own.

This makes me absolutely furious. I want to see those people in deep agony.

ARMANI - SEI UN PUPPAZZO CRUDELE FATTO DI MENSOGNE E DI MERDA! VA FAN CULO!
Posted by: ITALIAN VOICE | October 11, 2008 11:31 AM
Horrible!
How can anybody still buy fur (or Armani) after watching this video?
Why is it so hard for people to see the reality behind the stuff they wear or eat. I mean,a burger wasn't born a burger...it came from one (if not many) living beings who suffered a great deal before being turned into a Big Mac...same thing for fur or leather clothing.
There should be a law forcing any company using animals in their products to provide a leaflet (or a video) explaining honestly (and using photos please!) what's behind the products they consume.

That is just so cruel. There just is no other word for it. This hideous cruelty needs to stop. Practice compassion. Go vegan.

I have seen the video and frankly and in all honestly the treatment these rabbits had to endure is practically the SAME as billions of cows, pigs, and chickens have to endure in the process of being killed in the meat industry .. ie. they are so called 'stunned' which is not always successful , they are strung up and their necks slip open and the blood is drained out as the animals continue to struggle and appear to be still semi conscious or even fully conscious .. this appears to be no 'bad' or worse as how the animals reared and killed for meat are treated.. with ONE EXCEPTION.. prior to killing these poor animals as well as other fur farm animals are encaged for their entire lives in ABOMINABALLY small cages.. that is the one big difference.. that aspect I find is totally and utterly UNACCEPTABLE and unrefutably CRUEL.. and yes so is factory farming.. which is why not only NOT buying and wearing fur... people should cut down on their meat intake.. what happens to these rabbits happens also to billions of animals reared for food..
so.. think about that!!

exelent video i comlitly agree with gillian because one think is kill animals for food ad other complitly diferent is kill animals for fun or for look better this is unhuman an the wrost is that there are some f**** people how make rich beeing unhuman

YOU ARMANI, YOU GREEDY DISGUSTING MAN, KNOWING THESE HELPLESS RABBITS BEING TORTURED SCREAMING AND CRYING, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME??? WHY ARE YOU RIPPING MY SKIN OFF MY LIITLE BODY?????? WHY????? WHY????? SUCH PAIN AND AGONY YOU DO TO THESE INNOCENT BABIES. YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO ALL OF US. I HOPE YOU DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH.
Posted by: Brittney Hunter | October 11, 2008 11:20 PM
This was horrible to watch. Why this practice is still allowed to continue is infuriating. I hope the one's that wear fur coats understand the needless cruelty that hundreds of animals had to go through just so they could 'look fashionable'.

I wear leather.
I draw the line at fur.

animalkiller armani - you got a bloody soul, a bloody money and a damned long bloody nose by PETA! Pinocchio wanker!-!-!-!-!
Posted by: ratking | October 13, 2008 09:47 AM
Behind every beautiful fur, there is a bloody, barbaric story.
To a man whose mind is free there is something even more intolerable in the sufferings of animals than in the sufferings of man.
For with the latter it is at least admitted that suffering is evil and that the man who causes it is a criminal but thousands of animals are uselessly butchered every day without a shadow of remorse. If any man were to refer to it, he would be thought ridiculous and that is the unpardonable crime.
In their behavior toward creatures, all men are Nazis. Human beings see oppression vividly when they're the victims otherwise they victimize blindly and without a thought.
Until we stop harming ALL OTHER living beings
we are STILL savages
and as long as there are slaughterhouses
there WILL BE battlefields.
God Bless The Beasts

I recently became a vegetarian because of the poor treatment to food industry workers and large corporations taking advantage of impovershed immigrants and such, but now I see this video and am also happy of my decision for animals. I used to show rabbits in 4-H when I was younger, and I loved my rabbits so much (even though I was allergic to them)This made me think of my rabbits, and start to cry.
Armani is stupid.

HEY ALICIA...
If a group of beings from another planet were to land on Earth...beings who considered themselves AS superior to YOU as you feel YOURSELF to be to other animals...would you concede them the rights over YOU that YOU assume over other animals? I think NOT!!
There is no fundamental difference between man and the higher animals in their mental faculties...The lower animals, like man, manifestly feel pleasure and pain, happiness, and misery!
The time WILL come when 'man' such as I, will look upon the murder of animals as they now look on the murder of men believe you me for as long as man MASSACRE animals, they will kill each other.
CHEW ON THAT ALICIA
INDEED, he who sows the seed of murder and pain can NOT reap joy and love.
