Paul Newman

With the passing of Paul Newman, animals and the people who care about them have lost a dedicated friend and advocate.

Beyond his work as an actor, Newman's companies—Newman's Own and Newman's Own Organics—placed a particular emphasis on minimizing the suffering of animals. PETA's shopping guide at VegCooking.com features a dozen Newman's Own products that don't include animal-derived ingredients. Newman's Own Organics also introduced a line of foods for dogs and cats that benefit animals in more ways than one: The products are not tested on animals, and the profits from the sales are donated to animal protection organizations.

To pay tribute to this extraordinary man, let us carry on his tradition of showing kindness and compassion to all beings every day.

He also opened up a center for children with cancer, and donated his earnings to charity. He was a truly great person and an example of how all celebrities should be. At least he is in a better place now.

I knew he was a caring man but did not know he did so much for animals. I pray that whoever takes over his business will continue this tradition.
What an extraordinary man he was on and off the screen. He will be sorely missed.

paul newman was a great man and will be missed.
I must say that I might have been a bit too young for many of his movies but his love for animals is wonderful. I use many of his products including the cat food, which my cats love!

Paul Newman was a compassionate human being who knew the value of charitable living and giving...all animals, Mother Nature, and the planet are indebted to his kind service!

Paul Newman = Perfection in every sense of the word.

Now that I have learned that that Paul Newman was a friend of animals, I will pay closer attention to his food products. I've never tried his salad dressing but I will. Martha Stewart, one of his close friends, was saying on "The Today Show" that she suggested to Paul Newman that adding more herbs and spices to his dressings would be good. This suggestion was made back when Mr. newman was just starting on the salad dressings. I will now give one of his dressings a try.

He stood above all Hollywood types - committed to his marriage and his family.

I did hear he used to fish, I don't know about hunting though. It would surprise me if he did. No one’s perfect.

Anyway, he will be missed:(!

If 1/2 the people in the world did 1/2 as much as he did, we would have no problems. He was truly one of the good guys, and will be deeply missed.

RIP Dude, you'll be missed
