We've all heard the old saying "A picture is worth 1,000 words." But a picture of a zany, street-theater style demonstration is worth a zillion words (don't worry, I verified that figure on Wikipedia). PETA members, staff, interns, and activists have been hard at work as always, and I've collected a few snapshots of our peeps "takin' it to the streets." Seeing as how I'm pressed for time, I can't crank out the zillion words each of these photos deserves, but hopefully you'll be happy with the next 100 or so. Enjoy!

Here's PETA Senior VP Dan Mathews as one of our "Tax Meat" pigs at the Democratic National Convention this year. The officer next to him seems to be taking aim at a potential threat to public safety.

Outside the Smithfield shareholder meeting in Williamsburg, Virginia, we did a very eye-catching slaughter demo. No fake blood was used here—the "turkey" got a nosebleed from hanging upside-down for too long.

PETA India is turning heads and slowly (but surely!) bringing back full-body one-piece bathing suits.

Because of a last-minute cancelation by Tony the Tiger, we had to settle for a beautiful naked woman to help with our recent Seattle demonstration against Ringling.

Gosh, PETA, I am lost for words. THis story just makes me smile :). I love to know that people care. It just frustrates me that people just cant realise the horror of these buisnesses (ie. circusses, slaughter houses etc.) It makes me VERY happy to know all of you are out there fighting for the right thing. I am only at high school and am in year 7! and I turned vegetarian-against my parents wishes- in year 5! NOW MY WHOLE FAMILY ARE VEGO! I get a lot from the people at school but one thing is for sure- I AM RIGHT! THIS IS JUST CRUEL! STREET DEMONSTRATIONS ARE THE ONLY WAY TO BRING AWARNESS TO IGNORANT CITIZENS!PEACE TO ALL ANIMALS AND GO PETA!:D

For Amanda.....Animal rights is ALIVE AND SUCCESSFUL in Vancouver, BC. Your best start would be Liberation BC and the Vancouver Humane Society and also Vancouver Vegetarian Society. All of which you can find on the internet. Be glad to see another wonderful animals rights person join the group of activists here in Vancouver, BC.

I also just bought the track jacket, and wear it proudly here in Ottawa, Canada!

I happen to have at least 20 PETA t-shirts and long-sleeved shirts as well, and I wear them out in the community and to family gatherings, as much as possible. Not everyone asks about them, but even if just one person comments, it's yet another opportunity to open someone's eyes...

Oh, and another victory - my 12 year old son just became vegetarian!!!
