Sorry Amanda, you did great!! BUT boycott the olympics friends!! No matter how much I love to watch this time I won't because of the location. I just can't... "KILLING FOR FUR IS DEAD WRONG"!!! Save the animals!!

This is very hopeful. There is hope. Hopefully. Those meanies sure as heck arn't going to put the atheletes in prision. Hopefully the chinese government will figure out they can weather some bad press and still survive. But who wants bad press. Better to make some changes. Not only look good, but do good as well.

I shall not be watching the Olympics this year as I don't want to think of animals suffering in Fur Farms while the whole of China is celebrating. I'd rather save all the animals instead.

The olympics is being held in the worst country on the planet. I will not watch the olympics nor patronize any sponsors of the show. I am hoping NBC will suffer loss revenues from the awareness of the populace from not viewing this show. By understanding and admitting the cruelty that lies behind the dark side of this country, only then will china as big as they are stop HORRENDOUS EVIL BARBARIC PRACTICES AGAINT THE ANIMAL WORLD.

I wish you all the luck to do well in the olympics, but I will be boycotting it this year due to the location. NBC does not deserve high viewer ratings for airing the olympics in such a sick and distraught country such as China, atleast not as long as it's animal and human rights remain in the cellar.

I saw 3 young raccoons as I was walking home from work the other night. They were very amicably sharing a dish of cat food left on someone's front lawn. Why anyone would deprive these beautiful creatures of their life just to satisfy a whim of selfish vanity is beyond me.

Im Not Watching The Olympics, I'm Not Supporting The Olympics And I Sure The Heck Am Not Agreeing To The Olympics. Did You Hear That They Took Water To Fill Up Some Lake For The Rowers? And That Water Was To Be Used To Feed Crops To Feed People? GOOD TO KNOW! They don't even care about their own people. I *truly* wish they all could watch a PETA ad and than tell me they agree with the cruelty.

Can anyone answer a question for me?

I am wondering, how does one "Boycott" the Olympics? I know there is some kind of a chip in tvs which keeps track of how many people view a show, but how do we know which tvs have it?

Do all tvs keep track of ratings?

I will certainly boycott the Olympic sponsors, and probably not watch the Olympics, but I think that would hurt this young woman who has gone through all the effort to make this ad.

Thank you Amanda so much for your contribution. If animals could express themselves in human words you would be inundated with gratitude from them. What you have done will truly make a difference. Even if it only stopped one person from buying a fur coat, you will have saved many wonderful little souls. There's something to be proud of forever ...

I support the ethical treatment of every living being. That being said, I think it wise to ask the McLean family for permission to use their personal tragedy to support PETA. It is the only ethical thing to do.

It's a great thing. Photo shoot is awesome. But they could of at least hung the American flag correctly? The Stars and Blue Field should always be on the left!!

Nice picture. However the US flag when it is draped down should have the stars on the upper left, not upper right.

Unfortunately, people who are not educated about the importance of animal lives will not think much of them. They are only told to skin the animals, to hell with their screams, and they will get to put food on their family's tables. These people do not understand the first thing about what kind of place they are living in, and what evil they are being made to commit. The people whom PETA needs to go after are the people who take and place the orders for the furs. These fur farm owners do not use any painkillers on the animals, because they want to save money that would need to buy the drugs. They are also too lazy to actually finish off the animals they skin, because it's tiring for them. We need to understand why these people behave this way, and think nothing of it. They have also gotten too numb to the animals screaming, much in the way of a construction worker getting used to the sound of loud metals bashing against each other, the constant hammering on the nails, and the drills. It is the natural self-defense mechanism of every human being to quickly adopt to their surroundings.

Wow, I'd rather clothes than wear fur or be naked. I am really tired of seeing your naked ad's. You know, you can make a point and get it across to people with out using naked models. There's a lot of people I have zero desire in seeing naked. You might be one of them.

"I'd rather wear this cotton shirt and these jeans than wear fur."

So I don't want to see one ounce of leather on this woman's body, bags, etc. Cuz that would mean she still supports the killing of animals for their hide? Right? Right!

Great ad and admire Amanda but also agree with bbr's comment. China deserves all the negative press on their treatment of animals but let's not single them out. The U.S., Canada, even Australia are no better at treating animals. Let's also not forget which countries have the highest demand for the fur that China produces. Without demand there will not be any supply! Be fair and don't make comments like, "China is the worst country in the world and treats animals the worst." I think when it comes to animal cruelty, every country has their "worst".

@bbr. If a person wear and/or buys leather does not mean she can't support the anti-fur campaign. Why are these proponents of cruelty so extreme? If we don't support their cruelty then we must all be free of all sins and misdeeds. Killing animals for Fur is extreme cruelty and the fur farms of dogs and cats in china is the extremist form of cruelty.

I think it's great that people with high profiles are willing to stand behind such an important cause. I love animals and hope to see even more athletes and celebrities show there support, and not just women but men too! Well done Amanda.

I'm with so many others here.. I wont watch the Olympics because it's in China and China has no respect for animals at all.

Good luck to the teams though.

And good for Amanda for standing up and saying something PUBLICALLY.

The whole problem is that this is like some dirty little secret.

Send the fur video to the Oprah show, Good Morning America, Every news channel in America, Britain, across the world.

It shouldnt be hidden.

naked gets attention...good job! i have no idea why some people can't handle naked. and thank goodness there are good people who care enough to get naked to help animals. Maybe the Olympics being in China is a good opportunity to pressure them to treat animals better.

I'm tired of seeing the Olympics used for every political, reasonable, and unreasonable cause. These athletes are here for one thing...to compete against each other, to strive to be the best in the world in their chosen field. Yes, there is a lot of exposure to television, but let it go to the glory of the athletes and keep all other causes for another time and place.

China is fast becoming more Westernized. They are becoming dog and cat owners. Did anyone read about the 8 year old Chinese boy who had to take his 2 German Sherpards to be hanged right in front of him. This was done because of the rabie outbreak. If this little boy cried just imagine how many other Chinese people who had their beloved pets killed also had to feel. This is a good sign. There are animal protection groups in China and the more we spread the word the more people will listen. I too am boycotting the Olympics and I have asked my family and friends not to watch either. I agree send the fur videos out to every public venue, let Oprah watch it and see what happens.
