Pamela Anderson Sells Sports Car to Raise Money for PETA

That's right! Just when you were wondering if she could be any more fabulous, actor and devoted PETA supporter Pamela Anderson continues to set the bar high when it comes to helping animals. She recently announced that she'll be selling her 2000 Dodge Viper (customized with white racing stripes and the whole shebang) along with other personal items at Julien's Auctions' Summer Entertainment Sale of Hollywood Memorabilia and handing profits over to PETA. "I've been working with PETA for 15 years," Pam said to the Associated Press. "They're kind of my ethical advisers. With them, I see actual results."
Pam told the media that she attends charity auctions on a regular basis but doesn't do much collecting herself. "I get sports stuff for my kids," she said. "But me? I, just on a whim, give everything away. This is another one of those opportunities, but it's specific. It goes to the cause."
Whether it comes to talking politics in D.C., hosting news conferences in Paris, doing charity work, speaking out against KFC, and narrating videos, Ms. Anderson has always been a true hero for animals.

Pam is a good example to us all that we have to remember to make a donation and support the animals
The animal abusers remember to make donations to their "charities," the pro animal abuse lobbyists.
We need to vote for the animals with our dollars!

Pam certainly doesn't need a hot car to be hot. I admire celebrities like Pam who stick their neck out for something they believe in; it takes a lot of guts.

I can't believe peta is showering Pam with praise over this. The damn car has leather seats for christ sake!Anyone who supports this is a total fake! I guess peta can label themselves murders now.

Pam rocks!! she has a huge heart and i love how she uses her celebrity influence to encourage other celebs to do the same!! she is awesome!

While I agree that P.E.T.A does do some good things, I wonder if Pam could send some of the proceeds of her sportscar to help the people who are abandoning their horses because they can't afford to feed them anymore and there are no slaughterhouses to take them to, thanks to PETA. While I don't like slaughterhouses, isn't it better than having the horses starve to death?

Does anyone else besides me have an issue with this? I find it hypocritical to take such a strong stand against the use of animal products, and then turn around and accept money based on the sale of these products.
