Comments

PLEASE stop publishing comments from meat-eaters on this blog. :( I know you want to be fair and open-minded and stuff, but it seems like every single ridiculous comment is published, no matter how irrelevant it is to the post at hand. (This comment is pretty irrelevant, for example, heh, and I won't mind if you don't publish it.) I'm just tired of scrolling down for comments and reading things like "Being vegetarian gives you small boobs!" and "If you don't eat meat your kids will have birth defects!" or "Get reel PETA u shuld care about peepel first!!!" That kind of thing doesn't add anything to the discussion and there's no reason for you to publish it. If this were a racial equality blog, would you publish pointlessly offensive comments in the name of fairness as well?

OKAY I'm sorry about that. On topic: I think I like 10% Wool even better than Corriveau's old comic!!

Canaduck:

Maybe you should realize that PETA publishes equally rude and uncalled for comments about meat eaters. Example: "Stupid girls eat meat," PETA says that meat causes breast cancer and obesity. You called a person outright stupid just for wearing a T-Shirt you didn't like. And then you called her fat. You may have your own point of view, but these childish articles are just plain disrespectful. If you think meat eaters are unfair, look at PETA.

im a farmer(or used to be,drought,grain price,escalateing input prices,and now peta's campaigan on mulesing)
i just wish some of you so called animal rights activist's could come out to the real world and see what happen's to un-mulesed sheep
being eaten alive by maggots is the alternative

Posted by: shaun | June 21, 2008 10:52 AM

The comments from Peta, regarding meat and other such products causing cancer and obesity are not unfair, only the truth. Meat contains so many hormones and antibiotics to protect the cattle from the filth that they are raised in, and is so full of saturated fats, that you can't help but be badly affected by it. Do the research and find out the truth. Don't continue to be uneducated all you meateaters out there.

have grazing land but not much cash in Nova Scotia. I could "adopt" some sheep.
How do I do it?

Posted by: victoria Throop | June 21, 2008 10:43 PM

You people who think that the better option is flyblown sheep are idiots.

I may not know that much about the world as i am stil in year 12 of skool, but i do know this.

Muelsing the sheep is a lot better than having a sheep with maggots eating its live flesh. Boring down to the bone and killing it slowly and painfully...

Just hope you kno that peopl who support PETA are helping sheep suffer more than any less..

Let's all get our facts straight before launching a typically flawed attack on animal rights. First off, PETA only opposes wool because of how the wool is taken. It isn't sheared with their well-being in mind, just like dairy cows are not "happy" like the commercials tell us.

And another thing, drop the moronic argument that PETA shouldn't care about animals in light of all the other issues in the world right now. Are you doing anything to help anyone? If not, shut the hell up and stop inflicting your apathy on others. Get bent.

I would just like to say Nathan that the farmers do shear the wool off the sheep for their well being as much as for profit... How would you like to be a sheep in the middle of summer with a tonne of wool over you??? Wouldnt be very fun... learn something before you comment

Posted by: Jessa | July 30, 2008 10:11 PM

Jessa,

I have learned a few things, proper grammar being among them. Farmers are not paid for the "well-being" of the sheep; they are compensated for the poundage of wool. Get real, Jessa, and try getting education outside of "old MacDonald" and his proverbial farm. Boooo

Posted by: Nathan | August 2, 2008 02:58 AM

Hey Nathan,
ever seen a fly blown sheep???
Or should i ask, ever actually been to the REAL country???
Probably not!
I live in the country and see sheep suffering everyday because people like you can't even be bothered to see the sense in mulesing the sheep!

Ok, I have a few things to say.
1. If you don't believe in what Peta is saying, I have a solution for you: don't go on their website!
2. Not every single farmer in the world is mean to their sheep. Some don't even kill their animals, they just love them to be around. Not many farmers are like that unfortuneatley so until I'm older and I can get a farm and animals, I don't wear sheeps wool.
3. I wish you people could be at least be polite.
