PETA Has a Podcast!

… it stars me, so it must be awesome. Actually, it stars a bunch of people at the forefront of PETA’s work to help animals, who really know what they’re talking about. I just get to introduce them. This month’s Podcast features PETA Vice President Bruce Friedrich talking about how to be an effective advocate for animals (e.g., more with the positive outreach, less with the vegan police force), and it’s really compelling stuff. So if you’ve got 20 minutes to spare this afternoon, get your headphones on, pull up an Excel spreadsheet to make it look like you’re working, and listen to Bruce’s Effective Advocacy tips. Then let me know what you think.

Topshop sells leather. I understand that they dont sell exotic skins or fur, so then what's going on?? They even write "100% Leather" next to purses, and one purse has SNAKE TRIM!

This makes question Topshop a lot, and they have been featured on this blog twice I think. Why do they sell cowskin if they're looked favorably upon by Peta?

Jack, you've busted me! How did you know I would put on headphones, pull open a file and make it look like I'm working??? LOL!

That's an essential speech.

While an activist, be happy, be nice, be calm, think about how the little steps you make are combining with everyone else to become great strides, and have fun because you're improving the world!

But what happened to Jack's British accent? Which one is fake?

I love podcasts—gives you a chance to rest your eyes (lol).

So far have only listened to Ingrid's speech, but it is a classic (magnifico), and required listening for all who are fighting for animal rights.

Bruce is SPOT ON as always. He's my hero, along with Peter Singer. (Does Bruce read this?)

I'm going to go give out PETA flyers at a local college first thing tomorrow, because I was so inspired.

And if you don't already give out flyers, get some at PETALiterature.com, study up on the frequently asked questions and guide to flyering, and get out there!

Think about it: all it takes is an hour every now and then to change people's lives and help move the world a little faster in the direction that it is slowly but surely going: toward animal liberation.

By the way, Ingrid's podcast is awesome too, and she's right about the book Animal Liberation. If that doesn't make you an activist for life, nothing will.

If you still haven't read it, go to PETACatalog.com and buy a copy now!

I don't remember seeing you on iTunes.

I'm still new to the "podcast" thing, but I love them! :-)

How do I get Peta podcasts on iTunes? :?o

Thank you.

Great job Jack and Ingrid! I listened to Ingrid's speech in Israel. I wanted to start with the first episode. It's wonderful. I like her analogy between Peta using provocative tactics to attract attention to AR issues and a cat attracted to your finger under a door.
