Definetly boycotting. It is so cruel that animals are used in movies and beaten. Who would even want to see Speedracer? It looks like the stupidest movie ever.

Years ago, I was so oblivious to this type of animal abuse, as I have been with other animal issues in the past. Peta has done a tremendous job on educating me with such issues.

I never would have imagined that animals in the entertainment industry are routinely abused. But looking at it now, it makes so much sense! It's so obvious!

Thank you Peta for opening my eyes to so many issues!

I am very angry with you gentlemen who have no consideration to animals without knowing the suffering that make you maltrantandolo and separated from her mother should be put in place they also felt pain and feelings should have thought of.

I think this is great.

Jack, I hope people can also report not-hidden animal abuse on tv.

For example on Desperate Housewives (not sure what I was thinking watching one episode of that trash), I saw three different dogs abused on one episode.

One dog was kicked, if I remember correctly one was sick and not taken to the vet, and one was tormented. Very nasty.

Can I at least watch Speed Racer when it's on cable?

I know it's the makers of the movie, and they used a chimp...morally I can't go see it...I was looking forward to it (seriously) damn you PETA

I wish ya'll wouldn't tell us this stuff. Or better yet I guess I wish these stores and movie makers and all were just a little more ethical and humane and didn't do these things...

I really Like Target too, I am gonna be REALLY PO'd when I send them a letter about the glue traps.

I thought you brought up such an interesting point - where can we shop if all these places are being cruel to animals?

I would argue that you should shop at Target. Go there and make a 50 dollar purchase. Then ask to speak to the manager.

Get 5 of your friends to sign a letter saying that you all shop at Target, giving them hundreds of dollars every month among the 5 of you.

Then send a copy to the Target headquarters.

Tell them you and your friends are no longer going to shop there as long as they sell the cruel traps. Also tell them that they are going to ask everyone they know for a boycott.

From what I understand, Target has responded to such campaings in the past.

Think about it, if you sit at home and don't buy from them, how will they know? They won't miss your business if they don't know you've stopped shopping there. It won't do any good.

If you want to make an online letter I'd be happy to sign it as well.

One other suggestion, shopping local is great for the economy, the environment and small local stores are MUCH more likely to respond to such requests because every customer can make or break their business.

Maya...I did just spend $200 at Target before I knew of the glue trap thing...thats why I'm so PO'd...

I may make a copy of my receipt and include it...

Seriously I am gonna give it to them, I really do like the store, obviously, but just can't shop there till they get rid of these horrible glue traps...

(There is a Target letter at Peta2 I think...)

Hello Maya.
I agree with you. Ick Desperate Housewives is offensive on so many levels. I have not heard of the dog incidents.I have witnessed animal abuse in plenty of films that instantly revolted me. A movie on tv the other day where a german shepherd had his head cut off by home invaders. The new remake of Funny Games where a family dog, a golden retriever is beaten to death. In the original it was a german shepherd again. Also in the Hills Have Eyes remake more german shepherds are violently killed. Not to mention another shepherd in I am Legend.Also the poor dog that is run over in Planet Terror.I know there are many others that I can not think of at this moment.I am at school. These depictions are as offensive to me as senseless child murder in films. I wish Peta had a list of animal abuse depictions on television and also film. The real and the fake. I suggest the documentary called "Cruel Camera" which deals with this very subject. It discusses the real death of a horse in Flicka and the flinging of live lemmings of a cliff by disney creating the suicide myth. I have also been disgusted by cases like Hannibal Holocaust where real animals were killed and Men Behind The Sun.

AT THE END OF A FILM WHEN THE CREDITS ROLE. AND YOU SEE "NO ANIMALS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS FILM"
WHERE THE HELL WAS THE HUMANE SOCIETY. ARE THEY TO SUPERVISE ALL ANIMALS INVOLVED IN FILM MAKING? OR WAS THE ABUSE OF THE CHIMP DONE OUT OF THE SIGHT OF THE HUMANE SOCIETY PEOPLE?
BUT THE BEST THING IS TO BOYCOTT THIS MOVIE AND ALL MOVIES THAT ABUSE ANIMALS.

What's the big deal about German Shepherd Dogs dying on screen? I mean, Abbey (the dog from I AM LEGEND) became a star overnight! How does on-screen dog death amount to animal cruelty? It's not real! And this is coming from one who's favourite dogs are German Shepherds!
