jeff, i wonder how much time you've spent at the track, or on the backstretch, visiting and talking with folks who get up at 5 a.m., work 13-hour days, and do it because they love horses and horse racing?
money? anyone who has even cursory knowledge of the sport understands that very few 'hit it big.' there are much easier ways to make a buck.
i'm a member of a horse racing community that, admittedly, has to do much better by our horses. but being criticized by a group who knows almost nothing of the sport is tough to swallow.
