This is the second time in recent months that Tobey has been in the news standing up for animals: In a recent interview, the Spidey star told Parade magazine:
“I’ve never had any desire to eat meat. In fact, when I was a kid I would have a really difficult time eating meat at all. It had to be the perfect bite, with no fat or gristle or bone or anything like that…. I don’t judge people who eat meat—that’s not for me to say—but the whole thing just sort of bums me out.”
Yeah, it kind of bums me out too, honestly. Anyway, thanks, Tobey, for sticking up for your beliefs.

What a cool guy.
The one good thing about leather is that it's relatively easy to avoid buying. I don't want to depend on a sales person to tell me what a product may or may not be made of.
Even if shoes are labelled, I take a whif of them (new ones only, I swear! LOL) to confirm that I don't sense any of that hideous smell he's referring to.

Who would want the decomposing skin of an animal that was tortured and killed in their house?!

bought some 'faux leather' car seat covers recently.. they look great..look fabulous in my opinion.. like the real thing... but of course none of the potent 'leather' whiff.. intoxicating the whole interior..
so for time being they'll do just great..
now ..if they could produce some kind of super long durable faux leather.. that would be even BETTER!!

It used to be so hard to but non-leather shoes or bags and, when you found them, they looked horrible. Now they are everywhere and brands like Matt and Nat are even "cool" to wear!! We've come a long way. There is no need to buy leather any more.
Toby is my hero, literally.

Thanks Tobey. Going by a leather store in a mall is enough to make me gag—I think it's part tanning chemistry fumes and part skin that just wants to naturally decompose.

Good for him. I do not blame him one bit. It is his house and he does not want any part of it. GOOD FOR TOBY!

I think he's awesome. A vegan poker playing actor... I can't think of much better.
