The guys who run ICanHasCheezburger.com gave one of the most inspired and hilarious talks at South by Southwest this year, and, when they gave away burgers to everyone in the crowd at the end of the discussion, they made a point of providing lots of veggie burgers, which I thought was very decent of them. I know I'm not the only person in the office who's a devotee of the site, because a ton of people have been sending me this little gem, which they posted yesterday.

Please contact me concerning a zoo in Mississippi that we would like to have investigated. There are litigations, I've been told for several years filed on this zoo, but so far there are still animals in horrible condition here. We would like to see you involved.

First, I would like to say Newport aquarium is a bad place. I am a vet, and am very concerned about their fish. Their fish are developing zoochosis, and their glass aquariums are very dirty. Second, I would like to thank PETA for everything you do.

OK, you guys and gals I have to tell you something... Another KFC/Tacotime (same building) "SHUT" there doors down!! This is the second one in two months!! Vandalism maybe? Too much pressure, "NOT" making enough money!? People are realizing their health is more important up here? Who knows!! But "HURRAY" anyway!!! Is anyone eles having the same success??

Posted by: Carla | March 27, 2008 09:38 AM

Unfortunately, I can't report that our KFC's are closing down, but I did have a mini-success at Easter with the in-laws. They were serving pig (they call it ham)and asked me to bring the veggies, as usual, because they know that my son and I don't eat meat. This time, I brought two vegan casseroles that EVERYONE thought were delicious, and those dishes were all gone before anything else on the table! I was asked for recipes. Hm. Sometimes, something clicks, a small thing, I realize, but every little bit...?

Good work, Susannah! The way to the heart is through the stomach? :)

Susannah ,
I usually don't call it "pig" , I usually say "dead pig"...

That really makes everyone happy...

:P

Does anyone remember the old SNL? The Coneheads called eggs and bacon chicken embryos and shredded swine flesh. Talk about calling a spade a spade!
I think a lot of people are turned off of KFC because of all the negative publicity that has been circling around the internet. Anything that works is fine by me, just close those bastards down.
