It looks like Dickerson Park Zoo had a loose kangaroo on its property last week. But don't fret: He wasn't escaping—he was protesting! In fact, it was actually a PETA member dressed as a kangaroo, but hey, now we're just splitting hairs.

Documents received by PETA reveal that in 2007, the Dickerson Park Zoo in Springfield, Missouri, "donated" a kudu and a kangaroo to Buddy Jordan, a notorious animal dealer who has been featured in numerous media investigative reports, all of which documented that Jordan sold animals to hunting ranches, operators of exotic-animal auctions, exotic-animal breeders and dealers, unaccredited zoos, and pet owners. Check out the news story about this demo here.

PETA animals in entertainment specialist (and my "donkey basketball"-fighting pal) Daniel Hauff was quoted at the protest as saying, "Investigative reports show that Buddy Jordan sells these animals to exotic-animal auctions, breeders, and dealers; hunting ranches; and unaccredited facilities."

Some of these zoos operate like organized crime, and I'll just bet that there are similar issues like money laundering and who knows what else going on.

These zoos need a clean up.

And good work Missouri! You are already recognized as the Puppy Mill Capitol of the U.S. Now another badge of shame.

People of Missouri, take back your state from the grifters and animal fighters and puppy millers and sleazeballs! And the LEGISLATORS that collude with them.

Thank you PETA!

It's the ultimate irony that species in the wild are dropping like flies while zoos and exotics dealer's places are overflowing with bred and poached wildlife.

And the latter compounds the former!

Zoos are prisons for animals. Their victims are deprived of all that is natural: freedom. Animals suffer daily from psychological and physical stress. They'll stop caging animals when we stop giving them money.

Well, our idiot fucking Governator from Calif ignored our pleas and said I have decided to allow shoes to be made in Calif out of Kangaroo
skin.
That mean the joeys will also be shot on site.
Mamas and baby joeys all will die, they will be hunted and shot.
I could go on but what I have to say about this stupid son-of-a-bitch, bastard, could get me in trouble with the law. And I don't give a shit about those monsters, they are really dumb, dumb.FBI,CIA, really, really STUPID....."THE DUMBO PEOPLE"
Peace!

hey Maya, kangaroos are one of the most abundant species in the wild. Some 50 odd million hopping around Australia. The numbers are said to be higher now than pre-settlement, due to watering points made for cattle and sheep. We have lost some of our smaller species to feral cats and foxes, they had no prior predators and no defense systems.

there is a bit of protest action in Australia right now about some government approved culling in our capital Canberra.

Judith, well said - what an evil coward he is!

Rojo, hi buddy!

I did not mean to imply that 'roos are endangered. However, I have no doubt that if they are overpopulated, it's because of human meddling. We are nothing if not good at disrupting the ecosystem!

;) Are you taking part in the protests, my dear?
