Ron Jeremy has been, um, a really big supporter of PETA's work to help cats and dogs for a long time, and this Friday he took some time out of what I can only imagine was a ridiculously busy night at the Adult Entertainment Awards in Las Vegas to unveil his "Too Much Sex Can Be a Bad Thing" ad, aimed at reducing cat and dog overpopulation by promoting spaying and neutering.
Here are a few pics from the event, followed by Ron's awesome PSA for us. Admittedly, this may not be the first time that Ron Jeremy has posed naked for the cameras, but it's a hell of an ad nonetheless. Oh yeah, and the shirt he's wearing in these pics is priceless ...

More power to Mr. Jeremy.
Sometimes you must look past what a person does for a
living.
As long as he supports animal rights, he's ok in my book.

I have never been a huge "adult entertainment"
follower, but have been a
Ron Jeremy fan, because of
his devotion to Peta's spay
and neuter campaign. Also he
was the main reason to watch
those reality shows. But by
far, his new Ad, and compassion towards animals,
are what makes him so cool!
I may become a "porn fan" yet.

BUT, arent you making another one of these?
Why need another?

Great job! I can't believe he did that on such a busy night for him. He really does care about animals! I'm impressed.

So no matter what a person does for a living, he is okay as long as he supports animal rights. That is a strange logic to follow isn't it?

Ron is awesome!!! Thanks for your work on behalf of the animals, Ron.

Hi Kurt K--It is a free country, so live and let live!!!
Posted by: Kelley | January 16, 2008 05:53 PM
Kurt K: as a huge animal lover i'm always happy to find PETA supporters where ever i am! We need spokespersons everywhere and in every society! We don't know the secret purposes of this world - maybe he was set into that special environment by higher forces for this special purpose!

In Thomas Moore's "Utopia", butchers are considered low and vile. Butchers, are on the bottom of the social scale and treated with disdain and contempt.
Better to be a sex film star who advocates for the other animals than a person who enjoys slaughtering and cutting up the other animals for a living. Violence is never admirable.

I think being a butcher is an admiral profession. Lets face it, who would you rather bring to meet your parents, a butcher making an honest living or a porn star has nailed thousands of men/women. Im not preaching here, I watch porn like most everybody. I'm just saying this isn't exactly the type of person you would want to represent you! I seen many things with Ron Jeremy, he seems like a nice guy, but he will never escape his past.

hi Ana,
i'm happy that you're mentioning Thomas Moore! yes he was a vegetarian and he is an officially recognized Saint! also other Saints like Benedict from Nursia and Saint John from the Cross and Bruno the Carthesian were vegetarians and many other Saints. Also i read the life story of Therese from Lisieux - one of France's greatest Saints. She died at age 21 with tuberculosis and when she was very weak the monastery wanted to force meat on her but she refused it. It's her ho said: 'i'm like the eagle - the eagle is the only animal looking directly into the sun, i'm looking directly onto GOD!' Also the Church Fathers were veg and uptil now we got a huge vegetarian community in Ethiopia! They live together in peace even with wild animals and many persecuted african animals are searching refuge with them! They are the first christians in the world; the first one being baptised by one of Jesus' 12 apostles - i think it was Thaddaeus!(that episode is written in the bible) and like Mister Jingles i believe that sometimes there are higher purposes as we know - leading us in very special designs! God bless you!

hi animalfriend!!
Thank you! Many blessings to you as well....
The animals had friends of very high quality. T. Moore was a very well-educated man as well and an excellent lawyer and father.
