“Lucy” the sheep is at it again. Today, she joined Aussie Prime Minister John Howard on his morning walk in Sydney, and she’ll be making regular appearances again soon. I mean really, how can Australian politicians ignore the issues of mulesing and live export when there’s an activist in a giant sheep costume everywhere they go? Umm, OK, don’t answer that.

And here’s a story about the newly formed PETA Australia. Yes, I said PETA Australia! More news on that front soon . . .

Peta targeting Aussie farmers!! They'll always be their now, it's like a bad dream that won't go away to the Prime Minister, Oh, well! You should have seen it coming they won't be going away now once an alliance is formed!

I'm really looking forward to PETA Australia getting active here. Animals Australia were recently labeled "extremists" by a desperate government trying to gain the rural vote for re-election, just for saying that exporting live animals is cruel; I can't wait to see the trouble the government gets from PETA! Animal issues are now election issues thanks to this pressure from multiple groups - we're with you in the fight.

I dunno if it had to do with PETA, but at the last election, some guy in a giant rat costume followed him all over the country. I highly doubt that we should be going after old Johnny, I mean - there's 'a whole lotta love'(as Led Zeppelin said) for Kevin Rudd.

You are so right Daily Veg.
In this day and age the Animal Activists must become involved in politics.
Animals are politics, how horrific is that.
In California we have passed quite a few animal welfare bills.
You must get to know your Senators and Reps., and call them and keep reminding them what's at stake.
I have alway detested politics until I realized this.
We must keep up the good fight, so many lives are at stake.

Australia follows world leading practices of live export. Australian standards are amongst the highest in the world. PETA members are generally self-motivated people who seek acceptance in others by joining a cause to promote thier own social agendas. Why do you think certain celebrities support PETA? It is generally to raise thier own profile and to further thier own means.
So PETA should stop serving as a platform that allows selfish people to run thier own agendas.

Interesting comment daily veg, But the Liberal-National govt doesn't have to do much to retain the rural vote, the alternative(the labor party) ensures the status quo.
You haven't considered that Animals Aust. have been labled extremists simply because they are?
