Turning Up the Pressure on Denny's

As I mentioned before, we're pretty effing displeased with Denny's restaurants at the moment, since the company has jumped into bed with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, who, in addition to being documented animal abusers, are seriously among the sleaziest bunch of people anyone could ever hope to do business with (for a little background on that claim, check out this recent article from the Huffington Post).
But yeah. The point is that Denny's needs to find themselves another corporate partnership ASAP, and until they do, we'll be letting them know about it on the daily. Here's a pic from a recent demonstration in New York. Thanks to all the activists who came out!

Well, I wonder what Feld is going to TRY to do to stop me from printing out the article, make hundreds of copies, and get the copies out into the public - where there just happens to be an annual raunchy RBBB&B circus in my area.
Our local newspaper won't print a "letter to the editor" that contains information like that because it's politically owned, and the politician$$$$$$ run the arena where the disgusting circu$$$$$$ is held.

Wow, I had no idea they supported such horrors.
Bye, Denny's!

Ringling Brothers company isn't just sleazy
They are biological terrorists
Why isn't the Dept of Homeland Security on to them?

I was reasently on holiday to Hawaii, all the way from New Zealand. The friends I was with were going to eat at Denny's but I decided that if a salad was the only vegetarian option they had it wasn't worth going into, after reading the lastest on them I'm glad I made that decision. ... Denny's you big Jerks.

Do you people have lives? Denny's has a partnership with the most visibly known circus in the world that children love to see. Stop putting Dennys in the negative spotlight on your whackjob agenda. They are innocent victims in this.

The innocent victims are the animals. If children truly knew how the animals are treated--with extreme cruelty and violence --they would not want to attend this circus, the "cruelest show on earth".

Scott Eddy, the only victims are the horribly abused circus animals who are forced to perform unnatural and painful acts by way of threat of pain from a bullhook. They are forced to travel for thousands of miles in horrendous conditions. They are chained up and/or in cages. Just watch the video footage and maybe you will have a clue about this dire situation.
Oh, and the children that supposedly "love" to see animals in the circus are actually also victims - sometimes they are DIRECT victims of physical harm when circus animals attack the spectators, and they are always DIRECT victims of emotional harm for having to see animals who show signs of psychological problems after the years of abuse and for having to see the innocent, neglected animals tied up.
Denny's being the innocent victims? You are disgusting and you should be ashamed of yourself.

There's another good reason to boycott the circus when it comes to town. Hand out leaflets (outside of course). Saying "You're entering a TB fun zone, Enter At own risk!" Cause Ringling Bros. sure the hell don't care about you nor their elephants! I agree with Kelly.

BURN them down. Set fire to them.

TO SCOTT EDDY:
Animals tortured for entertainment? They do have lives too. The real question is, if that does not dismay you, should you have one?
Posted by: Kara D | October 26, 2007 12:35 PM
scott, in response to your comment, you need the life. Children may love the circus, and thats only because they don't have a clue to what goes on behind the scences. Maybe you should do some research on the subject before you post a stupid comment like that.

Mr.Eddy, take your kids 'backstage' at a Ringling Brothers event . . remember to bring a box of tissues 'cause when they see the 'happy' animals they need them.
Wake up brother !

Because kelly, The DHS is a waste of money and dont give a fuck.

Yes, children who grow up with it love to see it. Just like children who eat McDonalds every day love that. What the children don't know is the abuses those animals endure. My guess is that if they ever saw what goes on behind the scenes, those children wouldn't love it quite so much.

Note to Scott Eddy: Just because something is popular, doesn't make those parnering with it "innocent victims". Actually, it makes them someone who sells out their moral decency in sake of Cold hard Cash. The KKK is very "visibly known", would you also find those who partnered with that group, "innocent victims"?

Scott,
Your pleading is falling on def ears. The lives of these people are so bankrupt that they have nothing better to do.
Unfortunately there is nothing more dangerous then an idiot with a cause.

Yes, I actually have a great life and I would like for the animals of RBB&B Circus to have one also. I also think that if most children knew of the horrors behind the scenes, they wouldn't love the circus or Denny's for supporting it.

No more Denny's for me!!

Take a big ol Spartan Laser, destroy the circus, and leave Dennys alone. Learn to forget, like Communist Russia.
Posted by: Caboose | October 29, 2007 11:35 PM
Eddy,
First of all I would like to point out that only the children who are unaware love the circus. Kids would not be going if it wasn`t because of the animals. Also I happen to been a child too. I HATE the circus and all the lives that are jepordized for it, as in the animals. Finaly, if you think we need to get a life because we are saving lifes and voicing our opinions you obviously need to get one.

I think Scott Eddy knows now. Learn to forget, like communist Russia.

Yet another reason never to go to Dennys, as if their "food" wasn't reason enough.

Years ago I took my children to a circus in another country and after seeing these poor animals beaten into submission to do tricks for an audience I was sickened. I have never been back and would never advocate any child going to a circus - not even my grandchildren! These elephants are used to travelling many miles a day in the wild and to subject them to close confinement, dirty conditions, (they are extremely clean animals) and to humiliate them doesn't bear thinking about. Now I find out Denny's, poor souls, are dragged into the fray over this. Come on Denny's give up the advertising - you know you have to 'cause I wouldn't touch your place with a barge pole now! You know that any animal kept in confinement this way will eventually break - you have not broken its spirit - it is just laying low until an opportunity comes and then in order to get out of its intolerable surroundings it will strike. People beware don't let your family go to a circus where they will be in danger.
