A gaggle of grim reapers made an appearance at Milan Fashion Week Thursday. The dramatic demonstration reminded attendees of the reality of real fur—it’s dead.
Great job PETA Europe!

Excellent demonstration! What could be more appropriate at a fashion event? Good for PETA.

One thing they can do next time is bring the video along! Does anyone know where I can get the tape Behind the Mask? It's the one where they free the animals.

Oooooh! Good protest! I like this one a lot. I think it's the creepiest and most effective I have seen to date.
Good job!!!

That is just awesome! I work for Greenpeace but PETA has a very special place in my heart. I have a chinchilla who is the light of my world so you can imagine how much I HATE the fur industry. Keep up the amazing work you guys!!!

This is good. Especially in Milan, Italy the capital of fashion and fur. They really need to know what happens to these animals before their fur turns into coats. AWESOME! I wish I was part of that.

at least it keeps our heads warm

Carla,
Go to uncagedfilms.com to order Behind The Mask. Excellent DVD. Producer Shannon Keith is an animal rights lawyer and very gutsy lady. This is an essential addition to Earthlings.

Are you people stupid? Animals were put on this earth to be killed and ate. And thats the way it is.
Posted by: marq | October 2, 2007 01:50 PM
marq
No, actually, many of us are highly intelligent, sensitive, compassionate and erudite people. The other animals were not put on this earth to be eaten; that is religious, cultural and capitalist propaganda. We are intelligent and compassionate enough to decipher that stupidity and recognize the sentience and value of every creature. Perhaps you should spend time with a colony of cannibals and that might persuade you to perceive the lives of the other animals differently.

"Animals were put on this earth to be killed and ate. And thats the way it is." per marq, 10-02-07
According to that "logic," I gather blind people would prefer to eat their guide dogs; canine law officers would rather have their drug-sniffing dogs for lunch; and canine rescue crews would rather have their dogs for dinner, instead of having them rescue people.
I gather that people in nursing homes would rather eat the litte resident animals, instead of being delighted by them.
And I gather that cows, pigs, chickens, etc., enjoy the pain of being tortured, cramped into cages and pens, prior to being mercilessly slaughtered - and willingly look forward to being on the menu, rather than living.
Gosh! If it weren't for animals being put on this earth, we would all starve to death! Yet somehow, us "veggies" are surviving without meat.

Mike,
The are all out of the DVD's.
I will check back in 2 weeks.
I have read many books on this subject.
The Bushies call them terrorists, I call these blessed people Freedom Fighters, that why I took the name.
They are special people.

Marq,
Let me guess. After the animals were "put" on earth, you were given "dominion" over them. Well, I asked the 10 billion or so animals put to death in the US last year for food and not one of them said they were put on earth for you. Sorry.
Carla,
You're most welcome. It's a very inspiring documentary.

speaking of guide dogs is it fallacy that peta objects to the use of dogs in such circumstances.

Hi Judith,
Sounds like sales are brisk. There are a couple of interviews with producer Shannon Keith at animalvoices.ca. You might be able to view the film on the internet, but, of course, it's money well spent to support this kind of film-making. Shannon is certainly one of my heroes.

This might make Ms. Ditsy Von Nobody mad...She seems to have a thing for fur.

Ana,
You should probably steer clear of criticizing propaganda. PETA is the modern queen of propaganda. Have you seen the "your mommy/daddy kills" garbage. Classic. It's only propaganda if you don't agree with it, huh? It's kind of like it's only a war crime if you lose the war. I think if we took a vote, PETA would be qualified as propagandists. I know you don't address my posts anymore, but I wish you all the best. Don't forget to take your supplements!!
