Welcome to Day 7 of the Michael Vick dogfighting indictment. PETA is still being inundated with calls and emails about the case, and we’re still working round the clock to make sure that the NFL and Vick’s sponsors send a real message to fans about the cruelty of dogfighting, rather than just sitting around to see what will happen next. I’ll have some more updates for you in a little while, but in the meantime, here are some great photos from today’s PETA demonstration outside Falcons HQ. You can be certain that there’s more where that came from.

Wow, I never thought I'd say it, but I think I'm an Ohio State fan now! Way to go Bill!

This is fantastic. I really hope the penalty fits the crime. It is great to see people such as Bill Long standing up for the victims here. We are the only voices for the animals who are victims of cruelty all over the world. Shame on anyone who gets pleasure at the expense of animal pain and suffering.

I have just been reading about Michael Vick protest at Falcons headquarters and to be honest 50 protesters sounds like a very WEAK showing. Certainly not enough to get anybody to act on anything. I'm not going to drive from Richmond,Va. but it would seem to me that PETA would have a stronger base than 50 people..... I suppose it's a start. Please go after this punk.

This is stupid we all know Vick is Atlanta and trying to kick him out will not only hurt the falcons but destroy them. They have to pay the man all of the 152 million. He made a mistake and he will have to do some community service for it but kicking him out of atlanta, making stupid t-shirts makes no sense. its either Vick stays or falcons with JOEY HARRINGTON will bust.Stop the stupid maddness

GO BUCKS!!! I live here in Ohio and I've emailed The Falcons and just about everyone else I could think of , Sponsors etc. This guy has got to GO !!!
Money? What about integrity? Kindness to animals? Pay the guy off , I don't care just get rid of him!!
Sure all of this "due process" is garbage, he has lied is still lying and needs to go.. Atlanta needs to take a stand and DROP him, give the second stringer a chance, anyone but HIM.
About a 1000 people should show up before or on the day camp starts!!! This includes old Rev. Al.

A GREAT BIG THANKS TO BILL LONG to ALL of the professional athletes who are not only TRUE role models in their respective sports, but also TRUE role models of humane compassion as animal activists, which children can truly emulate.
Thank goodness for the respectable influence of these REAL men who maintain a respect for their sport, themselves, their decent team members, and for innocent animals.
Without them, Vick and his type would totally destroy the wholesome image of American sports...which, btw, has been rapidly dwindling due to MANY sports players being discovered committing various crimes. As FOX news reported, the average is one player every one and half weeks who is charged with committing a serious crime.

Yes!!!!!!!Roger Goodell just announced that he has asked Michael Vick to stay out of training camp until his "legal" problems are resolved. First kick him out, now fire him! I packed up all my neighborhood's Vick's jerseys and sent them back to Arthur Blank at the Falcon's camp today.Every little bit helps.
Posted by: nan mcclain | July 23, 2007 08:08 PM
If the NFL wants their role models for our young people to be engaged in dog fighting, then let's take it one step further.
I got an idea, maybe one of you graphic artist's out there could do this:
Put Vick on the cover of a box of Wheaties, have him with a football in one hand and a chained, scarred-up, gnarling pit bull in the other.
Then send it to all those NFL/AFL football coaches out there. And don't stop there - send it to all the colleges and high schools, too.
Because there nothing a like a sports figure hitting the "big time" when they make the Wheaties box. And when that box is sitting on all those kitchen counters, then maybe, just maybe, they'll get the idea.

NFL commish just ordered Vick to stay out of training camp, pending review!!! Almost there!
Posted by: D | July 23, 2007 08:24 PM
Why dont you give the guy due process? Indictments mean nothing. I'd rather him be found guilty and be banned for 2-3 years or longer than be suspended only to be proven guilty and then everyone look like fools. This is America and anyone should be afforded due process.

I live very close to the Falcons training facility and was wondering if there were more protests scheduled. I want everyone to know that there are plenty of Falcons fans that are outraged of Vicks actions!! Thanks!!!

it is wrong what you are doing. vick is supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. organizations like yours are what wrong with our nation. you have convicted him before he has even been on trial. if he is guilty he will be punished then. and hopefully to the fullest if it is true but until then we should allow the judical system do its job. prove that vick is indeed guilty.

PETA go fuck yourself u can't blame Vick 4 something he didn't do. i love animals but your taking it 2 the extreme. i eat meat & i love it. chickens, cows, pigs, etc. have only one purpose 4 us kill and eat them its doggy dog world deal with it!!!

Vick is a cruel and disgusting human being. I hope he never plays in the NFL again. Another example of a rich young athlete who thinks he is above the law. An utterly dispicable and disgraceful human being...everyone on the falcons organization should be ashamed

What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty?
Posted by: Corey | July 24, 2007 08:50 AM
Honestly you guys are being to anal about QB Vick.I'm not supporting His views,I'm just saying. What if that was your child or you.Do you think that is fair for him ti lose his job, from acompany that has spent millions of dollars. Suspended, money taken away (donation to PETA or APA), and a public apology; yes.But not losing something he worked hard for. Get your heads in reality and out your asses. Thank You
Posted by: Cecil Harris | July 24, 2007 09:41 AM
Peta really needs to get the word out about these protests in NYC & Atlanta (& why not Virginia?) ahead of time. They should be at the TOP of the lead-in page, not some stupid petition.
Posted by: Hell's Kitchen Guy | July 24, 2007 10:18 AM
You are "innocent until proven guilty" in court, according to rules of law. The NFL, NFL teams, PETA, and the general public aren't required to presume innocence in the face of evidence to the contrary, we are allowed to use common sense.
I'm happy how much attention 50 protesters have gotten. They've been on the cover pages of CNN.com and ESPN.com!
Posted by: Wil | July 24, 2007 10:21 AM
I see many people complaining (in vulgarity or reasonable language) that due process is not being followed. Please keep in mind that PETA is not the justice system nor claims to be. They are exercising legal first amendment rights by publicly expressing their conviction that Vick is guilty of the charges brought forth in this heinously damning indictment. Please remember that this is a common form of expression that has played out in front of courtrooms and areas of public gathering for decades. In each of those cases, people were gathering and expressing their opinions before a conviction was handed down. So lighten up, ok?
Posted by: anti-sean | July 24, 2007 11:04 AM
Mind you own business. This man has enough legal problems. With out people like you trying to destroy years of hard work. The companies that sponsor him do so because of his Athletic ability not what he does in his personal life. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. what about all the illegal things this Organization has done in the past. Get off this mans back. I think someone ran over a dog in Virginia yesterday go bust his chops

I HAVE GOT TO SAY, WHAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY? OH, I FORGOT, VICK IS A BLACK MAN IN AMERICA SO THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. AS FOR P.E.T.A. YOU ARE THE BIGGEST BLEEDING HEART LIBERALS AS TO PEOPLE LIKE YOU THIS IS THE REASON WHY AMERICA IS ALL SCREWED UP. YOUR SENSE OF MORALIZATION IS TOTALLY ABSCURED. YOU CARE MORE ABOUT ANIMALS THAT ARE ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FOOD CHAIN THAN FOR THE DUMB ASS PRESIDENT YOU VOTED INTO OFFICE WHO HAS STARTED A WAR WITH NO PHYSICAL EVIDENCE. I SAY FORGET THE WAR IN IRAQ, BRING OUR TROOPS HOME SO THEY CAN WIPE OUT ALL OF YOU IDIOTS THAT WORK FOR P.E.T.A. = PRICKS ENTERTAINING THOUGHTLESS ASSHOLES

Michael Vick is a THUG. A mentally challenged individual with hate in his heart and sould. He is nothing more than a brutal murderer. I would say that anyone with a pet that can think of what they did to those dogs would not sit still for his return to the NFL or society. The Atlanta Falcons entire team should protest playing football with this horrible piece of flesh. Can't even call him a human being.
Posted by: Joyce Martin | July 24, 2007 11:12 AM
I personally see nothing wrong with dog fighting. The last time I checked, Michael Vick was only accused of crimes, not convicted. All of these people who are saying they hope he gets the punishment he deserves are stupid because he hasn't been proved guilty. I find it funny that the FBI has nothing better to do than prosecute a man who is accused of dog fighting. By the way, his cousin was the one who controlled what went on in the house, Vick just owned it.
Posted by: will | July 24, 2007 11:13 AM
I don't believe PETA voted President Bush into office. In all fairness, I'll go double-check my understanding of the elections process. As far as the war in Iraq, there are numerous socially active groups working on that. I doubt you email private business or individuals ("Dear Coca-Cola... why the hell aren't you bringing our troops home?")and whine about their lack of involvement against the war, so you've no better reason to whine to PETA. Good luck with that, though.

Way to go PETA. At least someone is sticking up for the pit bulls against this multi-million dollar football player.
I hope Vick gets prison time. Maybe he will then know what it felt like for the dogs he abused.
Posted by: Randy | July 24, 2007 11:24 AM
What has Micheal Vick been convicted of yet? Nothing is the answer, to kick him of the team and pull all of his sponsorship (some of which has already started) at this point is premature. Rememer the three kids from Duke, and how ridiculed they were? As it turned out, they were guilty of nothing and had to put up with a bunch of nonsense because people just like you jumped the gun and convicted them before their due process.
Vick is owed his due process in our legal system. If he is found guilty, he should be punished to the full extent of the law and then some. How do any of you know he was involved in any of this, where you there?
I think he is guilty, and if he is found that way, he should fry, but not any point sooner than that.
Posted by: Dan | July 24, 2007 11:30 AM
Guilty until proven innocent, I guess?
Apparently, PETA is hoping for a repeat of the Duke Lacrosse case. If Vick is ultimately proven innocent, I hope PETA and every media outlet that has convicted him before he even stepped into a courtroom are slapped with the largest defamation of character suit in history.
...but this whole case pretty well sums up PETA and most other ultra-liberal groups. At least for the organizers, it's not about doing the right thing. It's just about getting media attention and in turn, getting money.

Good Morning - I am working on trying to get a group together for the Thursday protest at the Falcon's training camp - will everyone meet at 12:00pm?
Posted by: Rachel | July 24, 2007 11:34 AM
FYI to Jay, the Falcons don't have to pay Vick if it is found that he violated the conduct clause of his contract. That may be determined by the NFL after review of evidence listed in the indictment and not by a trial. From what I have read in the indictment, Mr. Vick is undoubtedly in violation of the conduct clause and will never be allowed to play in the NFL again. The trial will be held mid-season making it unlikely that he will be able to play even if the league allowed him to play. Vick will not play this season. He will be convicted and he will never play again. He will be a non-person in the sport. I wish more could be done to him.

"JOHN R" -- Pardon? Please, please, please -- as with the other PETA haters -- consider getting a formal education or, failing that, an English Language Dictionary. There are plenty of them online. (Same applies to "Jourdan Scott" -- nb: numbers aren't words). Oh, one more thing, keeping your CAPS LOCK key on simply makes you look even more an idiot, if that's possible. (not to mention your predictable commentary...) If you're so keen on Primitive Vick, why don't you go out and protest/publicly show your supposed support of him? I dare you. Oh, that's right your shift at KFC doesn't end until 10:00.

Would you guys please take a moment and think about the judgement you are passing on an imperfect man who lives among imperfect people. If Mike was not famous, would you boycott his job? If this were his only way of making ends meat and surviving would you be lobbying for his removal from his livelihood. Thanks to your efforts, a man who hasn't even been prvoen guilty is essentially jobless for the moment. I'm glad everyone in PETA is perfect and all those in America who are judging Mike. Thank You.

Please, please, please, Peta and everyone else, get in touch with Commonwealth Attorney Gerald Poindexter's office to find out why he refuses to pursue charges against Michael Vick, even though he has had proof of his guilt for months. I just called Mr. Poindexter's office, and when I asked why Mr. Poindexter wasn't pursuing charges, they hung up on me! How unfortunate it is that people would reduce themselves to abusing animals and engaging in such acts of barbarism as electrocutions, beatings, and the absolute destruction of any form of life, for we are all sharing the privilege to live on this Earth. How telling it is that those who defend Vick's actions on this forum would express themselves with such a limited vocabulary, as evidenced in the profanity that they so proudly use. Such truly horrible acts can only inspire such negative responses.
After the gavel announces the product of due process, may the accused suffer for their involvement in this tragedy, and may the guilty constantly recall the pain of death that they brought upon the innocent. In God's universe, there is no future for such examples of the dregs of society other than the carrying of the weight of their guilt, a terminal and artificial comfort derived from their illbegotten material possessions, and most of all the greatest damnation: the loss of innocense and the death of the person whom they could have been. He who has taken the life of another should spend a lifetime repenting for that greatest and most terrible theft.

Sports legend Pete Rose was kicked out of baseball for a victimless character flaw. If a bum like Vick is tolerated, it will be a disgrace to professional sports.
Posted by: Bill | July 24, 2007 12:29 PM
Sponsors like Nike do NOT have Michael Vick on their books because of his athletic ability - it is for his ability to bring them $$$!!! That's where we have to get the message across, with our wallets. Every dollar that someone chooses to spend on another company, like Reebok or Brooks, is a dollar that Nike loses, and that is probably the only way to get these companies to notice. Tell them you will never spend another cent on a Nike product until they drop Vick. He does not have to be convicted before this happens - Nike and the NFL do not have to wait for any court decision - they have to show the public that they are not going to promote someone under suspicion of such a horrific act. If he is innocent (which I doubt, based on the hard proof that they have used as their basis for even asking for an indictment), then everyone can resume their business.
VestaGirl, unfortunately I think you may be wasting your time trying to convince the few losers on this site to improve their grammar and typing style (though your comments are completely on the mark!). I have seen these kinds of posts time and time again, usually from the macho hunter types who have to kill defenseless animals in order to feel good about themselves (yes hunters, I said defenseless - in the wild they have natural abilities such as speed to protect themselves, however they are no match for a gun!). They don't get it, and probably never will.
Fortunately, there are many people on these blogs who seem to be interested in opening up their minds to new information and a new way of thinking about animals. Even though Vick is not the first celebrity to be involved in this type of activity, at least the hype about it is getting a lot of people to really think about animal cruelty, even if they never consciously thought about it before. From reading the posts on all of the Vick items, I think there is hope for many young people as well - they are the ones who will grow up already thinking in terms of humane animal treatment, and will be part of shaping humanity in the future. Sounds sappy yes, but in the face of all of this horror, I have to believe that a lot of positive change will come out of it.

REGARDLESS OF THIS JERKS ROLE IN THIS WHOLE SITUATION, REGARDLESS IF HE IS FOUND GUILTY HE KNEW ABOUT IT SO THAT MAKES HIM JUST AS GUILTY. I WISH I HAD THE AUTHORITY TO DO SOMETHING BECAUSE I WOULDN'T WAIT TILL HE IS FOUIND INNOCENT/GUILTY. HE HAS MONEY, HE'LL GET OUT OF IT. HE WOULD BE THROWN OUT OF THE NBA FOR GOOD, I DONT CARE IF I HAD TO PAY HIM TO LEAVE OR NOT. THATS WHAT THIS WILL ALL COME DOWN TO. PETA is a bunch of cry babies with nothing to do but bitch about shit that doesn't really matter. Don't you have better things to do like go to work? You show your lack of intelligence by emotionally jumping on any story that involves animals and humans. You always predictably shout ridiculous claims. Why don't you understand that no matter how advanced humans get technologically, we are still animals ourselves that hunt our food and kill it for basic survival just like all other carnivores. In my opinion you are protesting God for making us that way. This makes about as much sense as shouting at the sky when it has been raining too much!! By the way my family has raised cows from birth to the feedlot for over 110 years. They end up on your table as steaks! Yum!! So why don't you come protest me!! You suck, PETA!!
Posted by: Todd | July 24, 2007 02:02 PM
Wow I can't believe there are morons on here actually advocating for Vick. YOU are what is worng with society not PETA. GET A GRIP YOURSELF!!! Boo Hoo little Mr. Rich superstar may not get to play football (tear). Let me tell you seomthing Vick is a prime example that money can't buy class!! If you want to keep cheering him on after what he has done then go ahead, hell bring your kids to the game to because he is a fantastic role model. And PS killing domesticated animals is not natural it is actually a sign of severe mental illness. I would know since I have 8 years of college under my belt and do REAL WORK for money, not just throw a ball. Maybe you should educate yourself before spouting your mouth!!!

You folks at PETA are idiots and probably RACISTS! The man hasn't even been convicted yet and you're already calling for him to be locked away! He was indicted not found guilty of a crime. I'm a law enforcement officer and it's not hard to get an indictment. Evidence can be circumstantial at best and you'll get an indictment. During a grand jury they only here what the so called evidence is against the accused and the jury typically renders an indictment. Before you people get in an uproar calling for him to loose his job and have his endorsement deals taken away wait until all of the facts are presented during the trial; then you'll see if the evidence against him will stand-up. Also there are so many other things to be protesting about in this world......for instance the genocide that's taking place in the Sudan! Finally, if this were a white athlete like Tom Brady would you condemn him from jump or wait for a verdict of guilt or innocence. Oh yeah, Nancy H. I will go and protest in support of Michael Vick.....hope to see you there!!
Posted by: Troy | July 24, 2007 02:28 PM
Goodness gracious, you pro-Vick people don't let up, do you? Let me explain something. I have heard the Duke Lacrosse case brought up over and over again by those who support Mike Vick. Well look at the facts; in the Duke scandal, all they had was the word of the supposed "victim." The DNA tests exonerated the accused, the accuser's story was blown, and the D.A was disbarred. Now in Vick's case, there is an 18-page indictment, four eyewitnesses, a huge mound of physical evidence...shall I go on? The Duke case and the Vick case DON'T EVEN COMPARE.
And I really hate to bring up race, but the fact of the matter is, some African-Americans have come to this board and accused PETA of racism for wanting Vick suspended. I have to ask you, did you give the Duke Lacrosse players the same benefit of the doubt? I highly doubt it. Unfortunately, we live in a country with the type of history where EVERYTHING is a race issue. Race permeates everything, whether we like it or not.
But it doesn't seem to affect PETA. People of ALL races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, religions, political parties (yes, there is such a thing as a conservative Republican animal rights activist!), etc. are welcomed, wanted and needed. Andre 3000 of Outkast, Salim Stoudamire of the NBA, Kevin Eubanks of the "Tonight Show," Russell Simmons, Al Sharpton...the list is endless. WHY, you ask when so many humans need help, too? Because the animals can't speak out...because compassion for animals usually equals compassion for humans. In a way, helping animals IS helping humanity.
One last thing about the Duke vs. Vick argument...unlike the young woman in the Duke case, a pitbull can't call the police and file a complaint, true, false or otherwise.

Hey Imperfect! When do you think Mike Vick is going to pay back the money in TAXES that he stole from you and everyone else in America?
He was making millions through the gambling and breeding/selling every year for years and he didn't pay one cent in TAXES.
He ripped you off, and laughed about it stupid. You really are imperfect.

FYI to rachel yes if vick is convicted he would go to jail but and thats a huge but. He with the money he makes can choose when he can go to prison just like Jamal Lewis Who took his jail plea after the season. Vick will play this year. And If the falcons cut him hes owed 45 million in guaranteed money, also if he's aquitted not only will the falcon fans base drop but they will be on PETA's ass all day and night. Remember he's not found guilty and pretty much i believe he had something to do with this issue but hes not going to jail for it. There has been tons of athletes, artist that do this and everyone is going after Vick which isnt right. Once this is over its all gonna be put back in the face of PETA JUST Shut The FUCK UP. One person said on the radio that i rather see a human being die than an animal, are you serious who would you rather accidentally run over a human being or an dog i mean be serious. This is stupid

Dear "Imperfect":
This asshole made his bed, now he can sleep in it. Being in the NFL comes with having moral character. This dumb ass does not have that. This is a sport that millions of kids look for role models in. I have NO sympathy for him. I hope he rots in hell for the suffering he has caused.

PETA,
I would like to see your organization pro-test a persons that endugle in killing people. Many years ago, black men were tortured and hanged. Did your PETA ancestors protest that? And now you protest to get a black man away from his team. DUE PROCESS. It is apparent you have convicted him based on television and/or paper media.

I think michael vick and all his thug friends are the lowest form of human life I have ever heard of. I think he should go to dog fight training camp and fight like he made his dogs fight. That would be sport. I hope he burns in hell for what he has done and Arthur Blanc is with him for not taking action sooner.

BTW, human rights and animal rights are not mutually exclusive. I know those a some big words and concepts for you to handle ...oh, and it's indulge, not endulge. Primative Vick will be convicted.

BOYCOTT the Falcons, the NFL, Nike, Home Depot (owned by Arthur Blank) and any other money-making business associated with this pathetic, shameful, barbaric individual called Vick.
Posted by: Michelle | July 24, 2007 08:36 PM
Okay, Oaktown101 and others, can you really be that stupid? Though I am sure that most PETA staff, members and supporters would agree that killing people is wrong, this is an ANIMAL rights organization - people do not donate to PETA so that their money can be used for humans - the A in PETA stands for "ANIMALS"!!! You are idiots! And big boo hoo that Vick will be taken away from his team - he should have thought about the consequences of his utterly barbaric actions long before now. The pit bulls that he tortured (and kiss my ass about this "innocent until proven guilty" shit - there is no way that he is innocent based on the evidence that they actually found on HIS property) did not have a choice in what happened to them. They had to suffer the consequences of some vile, psychopathic, greedy bastards. It is just sickening!
If you don't want to read about PETA supporters and their protests against Mike Vick, the NFL and Nike, then get the fuck off of this site!

I think that all you people that don't have a problem with dog fighting should be subjected to the same treatment that the dogs are getting!I'd pay to see that myself. You people are so mis-informed its pathetic!!

THIS IS NOT A CASE OF INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY! This man associated himself with dog fighting by allowing his home to be used. It is such a sick and cruel act that even being associated with someone that participates in this act disqualifies you from being part of any organization that sells a "family product". The man's career is over and I wouldn't be too surprised if people start attacking him in the street. He is a sick person and deserves no less in my opinion.

YOU HAVE NO SELF ESTEEM OR WORTH SO U PICK ON INNOCENTS!! What on earth does Michael Vick's skin colour have to do with any of this??? The man is accused of a crime and you are either trying to minimize it or use a civil rights defense?? The man lacks moral fibre. There have been women assaulted at his home and dog carcasses found behind his house. Maybe running down a field with a ball is fun to watch but there are actually people of all races and genders who use their time to better the plight of mankind. It isn't corporate endorsements that make the man. It is day to day conduct that that we are defined by. Were PETA ancestors involved in gaining rights for the black when they were being tortured and beaten. Well actually, yes they were. Anyone who attempts to help the oppressed and weak have been met with abuse such as the anti peta comments I have read on this blog. You have early rights activists to thank for being able to do that.

oaktown 101:
i start to ask myself who on this blog is the racist - i know the american history well and it was not just the black people who suffered: you cannot through all the centuries hide yourself and your crimes behind a once occurred bad treatment - also a black criminal is a criminal - never mind what colour he has! the colour has nothing to do with a person and the blacks were abused not because of their black color - this was just a pretext - but because they were sold in africa by their own people and the abusers in the new world didn't abuse them because of their colour - they knew exactly that a human being is a human being - but because they couldn't defend themselves and they did the job. the natives never did the job - they never could put them to slavery - they rather died! but this is another chapter!
ok human is human and animal is animal and we have to respect the two! every living being has the right for a respectful life and a respectful death! ok?

Hey PETA,
If you all had regular paying nice jobs I bet you would not have time to picket the Atlanta facilities all day.
Get a job!!!

I think many need to understand the difference between killing animals for food and the killing of animals for fun. Dogfighting is a sick and disgusting sport- helpless animals suffering for the entertainment of man. How can anyone confuse survival with pleasure. I support Peta 100%. Perhaps Mr. Vick would understand if he were "wetted down" and shocked after missing a throw. Somehow I doubt he gets it.....

I am appauled at how some have put racism to blame for the rosponses of Mike Vick's indictment. He has been charged for a Federal offense so there is clearly some evidence that leads to his accusations. Don't you think? I can respect your knowledge of the law & that the facts should be recognized before passing judgement on one's indictment but it's Federal people! The law doesn't judge by race but by facts & the fact is, this "Mike Vick", this "NFL God" has been accused of a serious offense. So it is human nature to grow hatred for someone that has been accused for such a cruel & inhumane act. With that said, I think that ignorance overides race any day!!

I don't care if the guy is purple, this is NOT a race issue you egocentric ass!! How would YOU feel electrocuted wet, killed for not performing up to par for your job (if you have one)?
This guy was my homeboy. We're from the same town, followed his (and Marcus') career from Warwick High School (literally less than 2 miles from my then-home) til now (this time it's not Marcus who really messed up). Saw him in the Norfolk airport earlier this year & he was gracious & kind. He was my hero & could do NO wrong no matter what BS controversy surrounded him...I would defend him (rightly or wrongly). Until now.

Hey, Mike-perhaps if you (rhymes with) Vicked their balls instead of killing the ones who underperformed (were you projecting there just a bit?), they might have done a whole lot better! Don't worry, you'll get lots of practice soon. This is one time our tax dollars will be well-spent in the criminal justice system.
Thank you guys!

black panther,
i thought with ur grand name, at least u should hv some courage, but, all i can see is u can only hide behind ur big " race card ".
r u american?if yes,let me tell u something probably u never had the chance to learn in ur household, that is: no matter ur skin is blk, brown, white, blue or purple, as long as ur american, u need to OBEY THE LAW.
do u even understand what does "obey the law" mean?
it means NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW.
and that includ both u and ur bro vick the thug.
understant?
if not, then may be u should go back to ur elemantry school, find a first grade teacher explain to u.
Posted by: ann | July 26, 2007 03:42 AM
the problem with convicting vick the thug is:
he is a very rich man, he can easily pay off his criminal bro(s) , to put all the blame on them, use the money to make them not to disclose he is totally involved.
everyone knows that $$$$$$$$talks,if he pays these criminal bro(s) lets say, $10 mil each which is like peanuts to him, he can easily fight the justice.
i just hope the federal agents have enough evidence to nail his sorry a$$.

I can't believe the crap some of you PETA people are writing on here insulting VICK supporters. INSULTING people because of their educational background and concluding that they must be "thugs". How can you even begin to say this is NOT a racial issue? I'm reading the snide comments about the shift at KFC not getting off in time for VICK fans to go support him and the other racially motivated comments. I'm apalled at the levels people will stoop to just make a point. If you are so concerned about the educational background & lifestyle of the people supporting Vick, instead of spending money on senseless animals you should try to help underprivileged kids in run-down neighborhoods to help them advance. Oh wait, you want to keep them down. You wouldn't feel better than everyone if we were all trully equal.
The fact is THERE IS NO CONVICTION. Last time I checked the Bible, I don't think anyone is in a position to judge. So I think you people need to get off your high horses...oh wait, that's probably cruelty to animals too.
FYI, I am a single-parent WHITE female with a degree in actuarial science so don't try to play the undereducated, thug card on me for expressing my opinions.

Oaktown101...Ok so maybe since you'd like to see Michael Vick fight to the death maybe you should fight him and we'll see who wins. I can gurantee that he would win. You Peta people need to get a real job. Thousands of people dogfight so you just go after the black young rich athlete that has more money than everyone in Peta put together. And for the person who said they'd rather see a human die then a dog, what's wrong with you. If your life was on the line would you rather kill your best friend or a dog!!think a little bit you stupid ass peta pieces of shit...i can't wait till vick is proven innocent. when he is he should be able to have a "dogfight" with all you people and kick all of your dumbasses!!
Posted by: Dustin | July 26, 2007 12:43 PM
This is to Audrey:
You say that Vick was a homeboy of yours??? Really cause with homefriends like you he needs NO enemies. Have you ever once stopped to think that maybe your "homeboy" could be innocent??? You could be PETA all by yourself, but it just seems to me that you have something against Vick. Could that be a little hate in your system that we're seeing??? I know if you were a friend of mine and this is the way you stood by me at a time like this I would most defitnitely take you off the christmas card list. The man is INNOCENT until proven GUILTY people so please let the judicial system do it's job.

Is it possible for people to state their opinion intelligently without having to put the word "Fuck" with every other word?
Posted by: JAKE | July 26, 2007 03:53 PM
He should be skinned alive.
Why would anyone EVEN WANT this man living...let alone play football or be someone children look up to!!?? He is the lowest form of life and needs to be removed from society.
Posted by: heather | July 26, 2007 09:58 PM
I THINK ALL OF YOU SO CALL DOG LOVERS OUT THERE NEED TO WAKE UP. THE MIKE VIKE CASE IS NOT THAT SERIOUS.,IN STEAD OF YOU ALL SUPPORTING MIKE,YOU WOULD RATHER HATE BECAUSE YOU DONT WON'T TO SEE A YOUNG MAN SUCH AS HIM SELF MAKE IT IN LIFE. SO WHAT IF HE FOUGHT DOGS IN THE PASS,THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT HE SHOULDN'T GET A FAIR TRIAL.WHAT ABOUT THAT MAN RAPEING THAT BABY,I DON'T HEAR ANY ONE TALKING ABOUT THAT.ALSO PEOPLE FIGHT CHICKENS EVERY DAY.I DON'T HEAR ANY ONE SAYING ANYTHING ABOUT THAT.WAKE UP PEOPLE.

I have more hate for Kent Vick than I ever thought possible to feel so much hate.
He should be tortured for the rest of his life. I hope he burns in hell. They need to take all his money and give it to dog rescues. He is the most pitiful pathetic excuse for a person. This goes for anyone that participats in dog fighting. I hate you all and would kill you myself if I knew where to find you disgusting creatures.
