A Word With Jenna Bush

It’s no secret that first daughter Jenna Bush is a bit of a wild child and as you know, we here at PETA can get as wild as anyone. But when the Bush twin switched from MGD and bong hits to foie gras, Ingrid Newkirk pulled out her pen and let Dubya’s rebellious daughter know what’s up.
You can read Ingrid’s letter here.

She probably gets her affinity for violence from her father.

Good job, Ingrid! I sincerely hope Ms. Bush will take the message and run with it. Wouldn't it be great if she could become an advocate AGAINST foie gras?

If Jenna REALLY wanted to totally rebel and freak out her family, she would become a peace loving hippy veggie. That would be the ultimate most awful thing she could do to make her parents miserable (worked for me!!!) HA HA!!

Jenna has some weight issues
Foie gras is NOT helping that!

Like father, like daughter: mean, cruel and dumb.
Maybe she could grow a heart and actually improve on her genes.
Compassion towards animals works!

Has anyone noticed the direct pipeline offered by Ingrid to Jenna Bush? For years I have been asking peta staffers by phone if Ms. Newkirk could be accessible to activists a mere one day per month, I was told it was impossible. When I modified my request to leave her voice-mail messeges one day per month, the answer remained the same: "she's too busy". Can anyone explain why people like myself who care about AR's just as much as peta constantly get rejected if we want to convey something important but Jenna gets the white-glove treatment?

Jenna Bush eats children and puppies. Why wouldn't the b@#ch eat foi gras?
Posted by: Rebecca Lieder | July 10, 2007 01:23 AM
ya, jenna umm..eating a liver where ducks/geese are force fed with a tube to make this thing with a fancy name foie gras which should really be called force fed duck/geese liver now would you eat it?? and i still do not understand why it is considered a delicacy...
Posted by: kris shulfer | July 10, 2007 11:23 AM
okay i just turned 18 years old & have been a vegetarian for almost 3 years and although I do not agree with foie gras I also do not think it is appropriate to send a letter to Jenna Bush promising to never eat it again. I live in a house full of meat eaters so maybe it is easier for me to realize that just because I make a specific life choice does not mean anyone else has to choose or agree with it.
I have always been a little skeptical of PETA & i would hate to think that all of you are animal rights activist on a power trip.

So UNEDUCATED just like the dubya. Watch out for the tippling addiction. Not a lady by any real definition. Did not inherit Laura's side as far as her public persona goes.

I always did say that, Foie Gras is the food of “the uncivilizedâ€. War mongers would definitely be “the uncivilizedâ€!
Veganism. The diet of the humane.

I have seen some of Ingrid's letters and feel that the attack doesn't warrant her response. However, I think she is 100% correct in this case; the rich and decadent should be made aware of the suffering that went into each mouthful. I am glad that due to her family's legacy, she is no role model for any intelligent person; we should start worrying about the not-so-bright people that would like to emulate her.

All younger people need to know what they are eating. No one tells them, and they don't ask. Most of them don't care anyway, they think they know it all.. Force feeding Anything, shouldn't be allowed, and we should be outraged as heck for abusing animals in lots of ways, fighting, killing in horrible ways just for being there, burning, stabbing, selling for food or experiments, or for bait for the fighting dogs, and cockfighting, all this need to be stopped Now! I do believe PETA is trying to help...but we need to get on our Congress also.

If Kharma is true, which I believe it is, Jennas Liver will grow in a painful way huge too, and shall be served on a plate in her next life.

Barbaric much like her father. They are both a disgrace.

I thought Ingrid's letter was calm and to the point, certainly not "too much" as suggested in a comment. I do, however, get my hackles up when I read that we soldiers in the field can't get a word from Ingrid because she's "too busy". Without us there would be no Peta, so I think what Peta members think and want to say needs to be acknowledged - regularly. You never know where the next great idea may come from, Ingrid. And you never know who may have thousands of potential Peta supporters behind them, also. Be nice to your field workers! I think we women need to be cognizant of the historical significance of the "old boy's network" and apply that strategy to all we do and lead.

I TO WOULD NEVER EAT WHAT WOULD CAUSE GREAT HARM OR DEATH TO A INNOCENT ANIMAL. I ALSO THOUGHT THAT THE LETTER THAT SHE WROTE TO JENNA WAS A VERY GOOD AND THOUHTFUL ONE AND I SAW NOTHING WRONG WITH HER ASKING JENNA TO NOT EAT THAT ANYMORE... I TO CAME FROM A WHOLE HOUSE OF MEAT EATERS AND THAT REQUEST IS RESEASONABLE FOR THE PLAN SIMPLE FACT THAT WETHER WE ADMIT IT OR NOT ALOT MORE PEOPLE WILL BE WATCHING HER THAN US AND WHAT A WAY TO GET A MESSAGE ACROSS. KELLY AND THE OTHERS I THINK THAT YOU ALL ARE OUT OF LINE BY SAYING THAT SHE IS CRUEL LIKE HER FATHER WHICH IN RETURN I THINK THAT YOU ARE DEAD WRONG. I SERVED FOUR TOURS IN IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN AND I WOULD GO BACK AGAIN FOR I KNOW FIRST HAND WHAT IS GOING ON THERE AND THE PRESIDENT IS DOING THE DIRTY WORK THAT THE OTHERS WOULDNT FINISH AND FOR ONCE WE HAVE SOMEONE THAT DOESNT GO BACK AND FORTH ON HIS DECSIONS LIKE SOMEOTHERS. LISTEN DONT GET WRONG ,I DONT AGREE WITH EVERYTHING THAT HE DOES BUT HE CANT PLEASE EVERYONE ALL THE TIME AND PROTECTING US IN THIS COUNTRY IS HIS TOP PRIORTY.ALSO YOU GUYS BACK HOME ONLY GO BY WHAT YOU HEAR OR READ... I SAW IT FIRST HAND...

Anyone who eats foie gras is heartless, especially after learning how it is made. If they still continue to eat it after learning about the horrors conducted on innocent FEELING creatures, then they should have a metal tube shoved down their throats and food pumped into their guts to see what it feels like.

Most of these comments are DISGUSTING! Who among you has actually met Jenna? She's a good person, even though you all are obviously still bitter that her father is still President.
Have you all spent time educating the impoverished in Latin America? No? Well Jenna has. And no one forced her to! So lay off the left-wing, rabid language, okay? I'm a moderate person and am so tired of all the mud-slinging. It's comments like these that make people skeptical of what PETA stands for, and that's quite tragic! If you're trying to drive away mainstream America, you all are doing a fabulous job.
(And yes, I'm telling you this as a fellow animal rights activist and proud vegetarian too. Seriously, tone down the angry rhetoric!)

She looks like she's force fed!!!! Just another idiot in the Bush family. Shame on you who voted for him!!!
Posted by: Paul Thandi | July 20, 2007 12:26 AM
I did not find the letter rude at all. And I feel,it is just like the Bushies to not care about other living things. They certainly don't care about other humans. What makes anyone think that it would be any different with animals.
Posted by: Tina | July 20, 2007 12:46 AM
I agree with the letter that was sent to Jenna Bush. As a teacher, I realize that some of our teenagers are sometimes uninformed and uneducated and will at times do things because they don't know better. I truly hope that she really did not know where her food came from!
Posted by: Janette | July 20, 2007 01:36 AM
Jenna Bush is a despicable person. I suppose it's not that surprising that she chose that path, yet she can stop now and begin living a healthier and more enjoyable life today by becoming vegan or vegetarian. That's true even if she is a Bush progeny.
Posted by: Healthy Man | July 20, 2007 02:26 AM
It isn't a surprise to me.
You can see Jenna doing here a Illuminati Freemason handsign, often what also Daddy Bush does.
They are Evil and Satanic, they don't care of animal suffering nor human suffering and will never change.
Bush family are the biggest war criminals in history of a mankind,as Grandpa Bush,Prescott Bush funded Hitler, then Bush senior had fun at the Gulf,Vietnam ect and now sonny Bush is more evil than any of these previous put to together!!!
WAKE UP IT'S ALREADY WW3 GOING ON!
We must save the nature,it's animals and people while we have this chance!

While I'd love to see Ingrid's letter have an effect, we are talking about Jenna Bush here. Can you imagine anyone from that family having even a nodding acquaintance with the concept of compassion, human decency or mercy? I hope Jenna proves me wrong.
Posted by: Patrick | July 20, 2007 11:17 AM
She is a chip off the "compassionate" old block. Tell her, Ingrid!
Posted by: Seuuu | July 20, 2007 11:43 AM
Sumatrasue...you are a disgrace...how DARE you judge someone by their parents. Jenna does what any other typical teen/young adult does, shes in the public eye so everyone sees it. i've done some things im not proud of either so im a disgrace too? please.
and as far as her eating foie gras, that is disgusting...and cruel.
Posted by: Aimee | July 20, 2007 01:47 PM
If you want to condemn someone, condemn France! French people are the ones who invented it (obviously), and they're the ones who see nothing wrong with eating it.
...Oh, and they're the ones who opposed the war. (Take note, Fritz and Marianna. Are they still humane?)
Could everyone please take a deep breath and stop with the hateful, offensive language for a few minutes? That would be great. Thanks.
Posted by: Katrina | July 20, 2007 03:06 PM
I agree with you Aimee on both points. Putting her behaviours inline with what her father has done, and does is just pathetic. She is a seperate entity, and I'm sure that most of you who have posted something along the lines of, "like father like daughter" are shining examples of how different children and their parents can be.
Personally, I had no idea what foie grass was, or how it came about. When I clicked the link above that led to information, it said also that Roger Moore had stopped the practice when he found out about the process of production, and the conditions it entails. I would personally prefer to give Ms Bush the benefit of the doubt, and assume she knew no better.
That, or go along with what you all say, and concede she is obviously the devil in carnate's devil spawn, bent on world domination through the torture (and the enjoyment of such) of innocent animals.
(sounds riddiculous now that you think about it, doesn't it?)

NOT SURPRISED IN THE LEAST! JUST LOOK AT THE BUSH ADMINISTRATIONS POLICIES ON THE ENDANGERED SPECIES ACT AND SELLING OFF PARTS OF OUR NATIONAL PARKS FOR THE OIL AND LOGGING INDUSTRIES...

ick. that whole family makes me ill. i am throwing the largest party when that entire clan gets assassinated... the sooner the better! please! just kill themall. the world will thank you.

She was raised by a bunch of rednecks. what would we expect that she would eat? Her family hunts also. If they didn`t have any money they would be eating deer, rabbits, etc.
Posted by: mindy | July 20, 2007 10:40 PM
Ignorance is an explanation, not an excuse. Now that Jenna Bush has been made aware of the sadistic cruelty that goes into making foie gras, she must stop eating it. As the daughter of the President she is a role model, like it or not. She is not an average citizen living her life anonomously. It is incumbent upon her to set an example - a far better one than she has set up to this point. People in positions of power and influence like the Bush family (however undeserving and despicable they are) should at least demonstrate an iota of moral fiber. As if.

Ana- Ingrid gives those people direct access to her b/c it is important to educate these people. We are already animal rights activists and have a forum in which to express our thoughts. Relax- we are heard and validated frequently....

First of all she is not one with the Lord and either is her horrible family. She and her family are after one thing POWER,POWER, and more POWER to do whar ever they want. Forget poor her. POOR, POOR us and our whle family.

In Acts 10:13 God said He made all unclean things clean, so I can choose to eat what I wish to eat as you choose not to eat the things you have choose not to eat.

Why haven't the Bush girls served their country in the military? A 3-year/4-year enlistment wouldn't do them harm. Heck, they'd get special treatment anyway!
