jack spade dissection kit.jpg

The New York Times ran a story this week about the fact that menswear brand Jack Spade has started selling "Frog Dissection Kits" in its New York City store. Apparently, Jack Spade designer Matt Singer thought the kits would be a good way to remind customers of all the magical times they had cutting up animals in high school. To make matters just a little more macabre, the biological supply company where Jack Spade is getting its dead frogs from is Carolina Biological Supply—the same company featured in PETA's Classroom Cut-Ups video—where investigators found animals being pumped full of formaldehyde while they were still alive and drowned by the company's workers.

Anyway, a whole lot of Jack Spade shoppers have been writing to us to ask what the hell is going on, and we immediately fired off a letter to Jack Spade founder Andy Spade, to ask him to stop selling the dissection kits in his store. Thus far, we haven't heard a peep out of him, but we're hoping if a few more people let him know that this gruesome idea just isn't going to cut it, he'll see some sense. Help us out by clicking here to send a message to Andy Spade and Jack Spade's customer service to tell them what you think. In other, related news, who the hell sells a key chain for 90 bucks?
